You're the light, you're the night

You're the colour of my blood

You're the cure, you're the pain

You're the only thing I wanna touch

Never knew that it could mean so much, so much

I stared at the ring on my finger. It was beautiful. There was no doubt in my mind that Alex had chosen the right one. He could have gotten me a Ring Pop though and my answer would have still been the same.

A week after the midnight proposal, we were now in front of the judge, ready to get married. The people that mattered where there; my dad and Nicole, Marty, Luke and despite the fact that she had said she wasn't going to go, Addie showed up for her brother.

We were dressed casually, I was wearing a simple dress that accentuated my nearly ten-week pregnant bump and Alex wore slacks and a dress shirt. It was perfect. I was sure that the happiness in his eyes reflected my own. My dad's eyes were tearful; he never thought he'd see me get married. And Marty couldn't be more proud than he was. Alex was like his son, after all.

The ceremony was quick, only about fifteen minutes. We said our I do's and were on our way after taking a couple of pictures.

"Congratulations, darling," Marty said, "You deserve this. And this precious baby deserves to have two happy parents."

Alex squeezed my hand. He hadn't let me go since we walked out of the courthouse. It was such a surreal feeling to officially be his wife, for me to be able to call him my husband. My dad hugged me once again, placing a kiss on my head.

"Congratulations, princess. Enjoy your week."

"My week?" I frowned. He was acting as if I was going away.

Everyone grinned and I saw Alex taking out two booklets - passports - from his pocket. Luke chuckled from behind, while I stood in awe as Alex then pulled out two tickets to Cozumel, Mexico.

"Wh-What... What is that?"

"Just because we didn't have a wedding doesn't mean that we don't get a honeymoon, baby. Like I said, you deserve everything."

"But, your work... Don't you have to work?"

"I do, but once I explained the situation they didn't mind. It'll only be a week, love, but I wanted to give you something other than just a courthouse wedding."

I wrapped my arms around him and he chuckled. After a few more goodbyes, Luke drove us to the airport. Alex had prepared everything, from buying clothes for me to the tickets, and everything in between. I couldn't help but feel blessed. That is, until one thing came to my mind.

"Alex.. I don't know how to swim."

I was awestruck when we arrived at the Beloved Playa Mujeres Resort, near Cancun. The beach was more secluded and Alex had opted for a penthouse rather than a regular hotel room which I would have happily agreed to. The suite was over 4,000 square feet, and I couldn't understand why on earth we needed so much space.

There was a beautiful terrace with a Jacuzzi which the most breathtaking ocean view. I stood on the terrace for the first time so close to the ocean. I closed my eyes and let the unique smell of it to invade my senses when I felt Alex hugging me from behind, his hands cradling my bump.

"What do you think? Do you like it?"

I hummed contently when he placed a kiss on my neck, taking one of the straps of my dress between his teeth and letting it fall down my shoulder. He did the same with the other and soon my dress was on the floor.

"As much as I want us to begin celebrating the beginning of our marriage, mi amor, first I want us to enjoy the dinner that has been prepared for us."

"Then why are you kissing me like that?" He was placing wet kiss over my shoulders, holding my hair back so it wouldn't get in the way. Despite the warm weather, I shivered.

"Just a taste of what's to... come," he said with a smirk.

He bit down on the soft spot between my neck and shoulder, forcing me to stifle a moan.

"Patience, baby. It's a virtue."

I rolled my eyes, watching him as he brought a bikini along with a cover up.

"Wait, is this what I'm wearing for dinner?"

"Yes. We're eating at the beach, you see the table that's been set up?" He pointed towards the table which was lit by candles already. The sun was beginning to set. "It also makes things easier," he whispered in my ear. "Go on, Eileen. Change, then we can go eat and finish what we've started."

His words were a warning of what awaited.

To say that I felt uncomfortable in just a bikini and a cover up was an understatement. I wasn't used to this clothing, or lack of them. Alex didn't seem bothered though; he met me with a grin as soon as he saw me walking up to him.

"How is my beautiful wife?" He asked, as he kissed my cheek.

Wife. I was now his wife.

"Perfect, Alex. Everything is perfect."

Dinner was perfect. Just a couple of days before, I had mentioned how much I was craving Alfredo pasta and that was exactly what he had made. I moaned at the delicious, creamy taste of the pasta, it was cooked to perfection.

"Our baby likes that, huh?"

"Mmhm, baby agrees with this too," I agreed. I looked at the wine that he was serving for himself, and watched him drink. How was it possible that something so simple made him look so... sexy. Alex raised an eyebrow when he saw me still looking at him, and I lowered my face trying to avoid getting more embarrassed.

"It's okay, I don't mind if you look," he said. "I like how flustered you get."

He'd taken the darkness in my life and opened the blinds so that the sun could shine through and light it all up. There was no darkness, and whenever it tried to take over, Alex would show up and make it disappear.

After we ate, we walked down the beach. The feel of the sand on my bare feet was soothing and the relaxed atmosphere was more than I could have ever asked for.

Alex interrupted my thoughts by picking me up bridal style and walking towards the water.

"What are you doing, Alex? I can't swim!" I giggled, burying my face in his neck.

"I know, that's why I'm carrying you."

The sky was lit up by millions of stars, making the moment that much more perfect. My eyes closed, allowing myself to just feel. I heard him chuckle heartily.

"What are you laughing at?" I asked, still too lazy to open my eyes.

"You don't know how to swim yet you're relaxed, knowing very well that I could drop you or something."

"But you won't," I said. "You won't let me fall."

"Never."

Alex held me for a long time in which we just felt the steady moving of the water around us. I savored it, his touch, the calm surrounding us. Before Alex came into my life, I had forgotten what this felt like.

I was lucky to have all of them, my new family. I had lost a lot, but I had gained much more than I could have ever imagined. Every piece of my life had fallen into place when I thought that there was nothing left. The one regret I would always have would always be not being able to have Angie, not having been able to hold her during her last moments. But after years of hurt and pain, I learned to smile through it. And it was beautiful.

"You really didn't have to carry me all the way back here," I murmured, once again settled against his chest.

"I did," he said.

"Where are we going?" I asked, when I saw him walk past our bedroom and to the terrace.

"I asked them to lower the temperature of the Jacuzzi some so that you could get it." The doctor had said that it wasn't recommended to soak in a hot tub during pregnancy due to the increase in body temperature. I never thought that Alex would remember such details, but he kept surprising me.

We dipped in the warm water and only once inside he set me down.

"We're going to shrivel up like prunes," I told him to which he only chuckled while he removed the shorts he was wearing.

This was it.

"Remove your clothes, Eileen," he said as she leaned against the edge of the jaccuzzi. With trembling hands I reached back and untied it, setting it on the edge. "The bottom, too." His voice came out hoarse this time.

I bit my lip but followed his orders. His eyes were set on me, following everyone of my movements. There was something so erotic about the way he looked at me, it wasn't only lust but so much more. He wanted more than just my body, and he had it. He had all of me.

"Can't someone see us?" I asked, suddenly feeling apprehensive about the fact we both naked on a terrace.

"I don't think so." He smirked. Always that damned smirk.

My lips parted when he pulled me towards him and kissed me. He'd been teasing me all day and after weeks without being together, I missed him. He missed me just as much. He groaned when I tugged at his hair. It seemed to only encourage him because soon his lips were on my neck. I was sure he was leaving his mark, and I didn't care.

I reached between us, taking him in my hand.

"Mmm, you've become quite bold, mia cara," he murmured, now cupping my core. I moaned, already needing him. He worked his fingers over my very sensitive folds while I worked every part of his hard member with steady movements.

His lips met mine again, hungry. His tongue dived in my mouth dancing with my own, competing for power that I knew I would willingly hand over. My legs wrapped around his waist when he lifted me up and sat me on the edge of the jaccuzzi. I didn't have time to process anything because soon his face was between my legs, lapping and eating me up like I was his last meal. I leaned back on my hands, holding on to the little bit of strength that I had left.

I stopped caring if anyone could hear me, or if anyone knew what we were doing. I felt everything, from the way his fingers moved inside me, to his low humming against my skin. I cried out his name when I came undone, he held me tight against him, supporting me.

Soon, he helped me into the jaccuzzi once again and pushing into me when we were settled into me. I gasped; we fit together in every sense of the word.

No words needed to be spoken, everything was out in the open. He was my love as I was his. He was the piece of me that was missing. He taught me how to trust. I taught him how to love. We were one. And our love had produced a beautiful baby.

Our bodies moved together in a slow dance, as unbelievable pleasure invaded every cell of our bodies. There was nothing but the gentle splashing of the water and our moans and grunts filling the air. This was my life now. The past was behind and even if there were painful scars left still, they were fading away.

"Together forever," I whispered as we came down from our high.

He smiled and kissed me, "Forever."
