Talk how you talk, walk how you walk

'Cause I'd have a problem sleeping

Wandering eyes and comfortable lies

You seem to sleep just fine

I'm not a saint, and I make mistakes

But next to you I'm holy

Oh, I'm praying for your soul now.

-Nessa Barrett

"Sole, holy shit you look- wow." Ronan let out as soon as I exited the bathroom. I grinned at him as I sit on the bed to slip my feet into the heels I had brought with me.

"Thank you, wheres's Art and Elias?" I ask and he shrugs.

"I don't know, all I was told is that they had stuff to do. Art did ask you to call her though." He says and I am a little upset that she didn't inform me she was leaving but I suck it up.

As I rise from the bed there's an unsettling height difference in me from mere seconds ago to now.

"Am I riding with you?" I ask fixing my outfit before walking toward him.

"Riding with me, riding me. Both sound good." He mutters looking me up and down and I roll my eyes slapping his chest playfully whilst walking past him.

I grab my phone on our way put and dial Art's number. She picks up after the first ring and I hold my breath.

"Hey darling, I'm sorry I can't be there, I have some stuff to do." She says softly and I gulp.

"You'll be at the party though, right?" I ask, my heels tapping against the tiled floors as we head towards the elevator.

"Of course." She says softly and I sigh smiling to myself.

"I have questions," I mutter, I know Ronan is pretending that he isn't hearing in on our conversation. But I don't miss the side-eye and the worried expression.

"I have all night." She answers and I smile wider.

"We'll meet you there," I say as the elevator dings letting us know that we are good to go.

I hang up and we wait in silence, from the corner of my eye I see Ronan opening his mouth to tell me something but then he shuts it quickly, this happens again and again and I try to ignore it but I really can't.

"Spit it out," I say my voice stern and he sighs.

"When we get to the car." He mutters and I nod.

Surprisingly, I have never seen his car before but as we walk toward it I am astonished. A vintage black car with black interiors and silver accents.

Pretty cool.

"My lady." He bows dramatically opening the door for me and I let out a hearty chuckle.

Soon enough the engine revs and we are making our way to wherever the gathering is held.

"So, what were you trying to tell me?" I ask looking at him and he sighs.

"I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for this, but- don't question much Marnie. It's gonna do nothing but get you in trouble." He says his jaw clenched and my heart thumps hard in my chest.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I ask and when he doesn't answer I angle my body towards him.

"Ro, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" I say clearly this time and he closes his eyes, his grip on the wheel tightening.

"Things aren't as simple as you think they are." He answers simply his attention now back to the road and I know that even if I ask he will not answer me. So I turn back to my original position and think about what he was trying to tell me.

I could hear the music.

We were parked outside a mansion, I wish I was joking. But I'm not. I have never seen a mansion this big. I mean it's more like a fucking castle.

Ro walked out from his side rounded the car and opened the door for me.

"Is this the same crowd from yesterday?" I asked, the music was blasting so loud that I couldn't even hear myself.

"Yes, there's gonna be plenty more people tho." He answered not realising that what he just said made my stomach drop.

So, Enzo would be here.

After mentally shitting bricks we walked on the cobblestone path towards the large wooden doors, maybe mahogany.

"Name." The security guy said.

"Ronan Barclay and Marina Tak." He answers and only then am I reminded of my fake name.

The man checks off our names on his list and the door is opened for us.

People.

Dear lord, there are more than 500 people here. This party is huge.

And I thought brown weddings were huge.

"I need to pee so bad," Ronan mutters and I tense.

"So you're gonna leave me alone?" I ask my voice wavering just for a second and he looks down at me.

"Of course not." He answers I nod slowly.

I look around to see high raised ceilings, renaissance art hung on the walls, delicately painted ceilings and expensive rugs beneath our feet.

Waiters holding large tray of drinks whizz past everyone and I hold my breath every time someone makes eye contact with me.

"You can go pee." I finally let out, Ronan's grip on my waist tightens just a little bit before he pulls me to a corner.

"You sit here and don't speak to anyone." He orders and I nod. Ronan looks around before nodding and walking to provably the restroom.

"Happy peeing!" I exclaim and a few people look at him with an amused look as he flips me off.

I sigh fiddling with my fingers, my phone buzzes in my pocket and I take it out.

"It's not polite to be on your phone at a party." I smell his cologne before I hear him. My chest tightens as I finally look up.

This man never fails to look pretty.

A black suit with mute purple jewels that made a pattern near his collar and shoulders which most probably went all the way to his back. A sheer purple shirt that matched the shade of those jewels with two straps dangling for tying up at his neck.

"It's not polite to sneak up on people either," I mutter and he grins before standing very very close to me.

"I didn't think you would show up." He whispers and even with the loud music I hear him very well.

Enzo's icy blue eyes were lined with purple graphic liner and there was glitter in his hair.

"Why would you think that?" I mutter, never breaking eye contact. Neither do I stand. I sit still, maybe because I knew my knees would quiver and give out the moment I stand.

"You looked rather terrified." He chuckles, sparing a look around.

"Terrified? Of you?" I chuckle, he's right. But he can't know.

"Well then, if you're not scared of me-" He starts, his eyes gleaming.

"I'm not." I interrupt him and his smile widens showing off his pearly white teeth.

"I suppose you wouldn't object to me showing you something, would you?" He starts and I clench my fingers around the cushioned seat.

"I wouldn't," I say standing up as he offers me a hand.
