《PRANKS and KISSES | 1 ✔️》Chapter 26: Boyfriend and Girlfriend

A/N: Years ago, I asked my readers to suggest a scene they wanted me to include in this book and I told them I'll include the best suggestion in the story. This is the winner. Thank you for the suggestion @AlphasMate325!

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Hunter whispered using his husky voice I couldn't get enough of. His warm hands traveled from my shoulder down to my arms, caressing my skin in a way that almost turned my knees into jelly.
I bit my lower lip and nodded. There was no way I'd back out. Not when we had already come this far.
"I'm sure." I said even though my heart was beating wildly inside my chest. I was so damned nervous, my palms were sweating buckets.
"But this is your first time." He murmured as he leaned closer, sending the mingled scents of mint and aftershave my way. "I don't want you to get hurt."
A flutter coursed through me. Even when he was this close, I still couldn't believe he was mine. That was right. This crazy, beautiful boy was mine.
"I won't." I gave him a determined look. "Let's do this."
His gaze flickered over my face. It settled, with something close to fascination, on my lips. His expression quickly turned wicked, as his eyes brightened with a naughty gleam.
"Then let's do this."
He grabbed my hand and excitedly ushered me forward the line.
"This is going to be awesome!" He cheered happily as we stepped onto the entrance of the roller coaster ride.
Right. It was our first date as boyfriend and girlfriend and Hunter decided to bring me to an amusement park.
I was really having a lot of fun until he decided it was time for us to ride this death in a cart.
"Is this safe?" I asked with a shaky voice, my heart was pounding rapidly and I started to feel queasy.
Hunter gave me a reassuring smile.
"Yes, babe. Don't worry, okay? I got you."
We walked slowly over to a row of two seats. Hunter entered first and I followed him, knees wobbly from fear. The chairs did nothing to comfort me. They were black with blue seatbelts that went around our shoulders. As one of the staff fasten us into our seats, I knew it was too late for me to change my mind.
"Your first time here?" Asked the staff as he adjusted the belt around my waist. He had a surfer vibe going on around him with his wavy brown hair and golden tan skin. He looked to be our age.
I nodded meekly, too nervous to even make up a coherent answer. The staff gave me a flirty smile.
"I hope you'll have fun."
I was about to answer when Hunter leaned in closer so he could give the staff a sarcastic smile.
"Thanks for your concern. I'm sure my girlfriend will have a lot of fun." He said in a harsh, patronising voice, making sure to put a stress in the word girlfriend.
Caveman Hunter was at it again.
I elbowed him in the ribs, making him wince. I threw the thoroughly confused staff an apologetic smile. He shrugged and proceeded to assist the people in front of us.
I glared at Hunter.
"What's your problem?" I said in annoyance.
He pouted his full lips and gave me his puppy dog eyed look he knew I couldn't resist.
"That guy was totally flirting with you."
"No, he was not!"
"Of course he was." He insisted, still pouting.
"That doesn't mean you have to be rude! I can't count the number of times girls tried to flirt with you ever since we stepped inside this amusement park, did you see me act mean to them?" I huffed, remembering the not so subtle ways girls tried to do to steal his attention away from me. One girl even had the nerve to invite him to join her and her friends, acting like I was invisible the entire time.
Hunter licked his lower lip and smiled.
"Is my baby jealous?"
I felt my cheeks blazed.
"Of course not!" I strongly denied.
Hunter's grin widened.
"Do you want me to take my jacket off?"
My eyes widened and I shook my head almost violently.
"Oh, hell no!"
So what was it about his suggestion that horrified me? Simple. This crazy boy was wearing a white shirt that had "Skylar's Boyfriend" printed on it in big, bold, black letters.
He was smiling from ear to ear when he showed up earlier in our house wearing that ridiculous outfit that I had to scramble inside our house again to look for a jacket that would fit him and would cover that abomination of a shirt.
I had him wear my blue cookie monster hoodie the entire time we were here. I thought people would find that weird but it seemed like it had the opposite effect on girls. Apparently, they found him too adorable and sexy that they had been swarming around him nonstop. He didn't even seem to notice any of them. He spent most of his time teasing me and telling people who would care to listen that I was his girlfriend.
The cart started to move, taking my attention away from the topic.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" There were people screaming everywhere. Our ride just started and people were already screaming their lungs out. I tried to keep my mind calm as we began to slowly rise up. Higher and higher until I could already see the entire park from where we sat. As we reached the peak, I closed my eyes and refused to look down.
I felt Hunter's warm hand gripped mine. He laced our fingers together. Slowly, I opened my eyes and faced him. The amethyst in his eyes were brighter than ever, his smile, breath taking.
"I love you." He mouthed.
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.
"I love you too."
WHOOOOOOSSHHHHH.
The strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. My head banged into the back of my seat multiple times, giving me a head ache. I could feel every sharp turn and twist because with each turn, my head would also sway along. The fear was still there, but at the same time, I felt exhilarated. I could hear Hunter laughing beside me as he raised both our hands every time we came into a drop. This wasn't so bad. Why was I even afraid in the beginning when I knew Hunter would be with me the entire ride?
We went up, down, left, right, upside down and all around. I realized roller coasters weren't as horrible as I thought they would be, they just seemed frightening from the outside.
I secretly smiled.
I couldn't wait to go on more amazing roller coaster rides with this man at my side.
***
After the roller coaster ride, Hunter decided to buy us drinks at the lemonade stand. My knees were still a little wobbly so he asked me to just sit on one of the benches and wait for him.

I sat on the bench as I tried to even out my breathing. I watched all kinds of people passing in front of me with fascination. Everyone looked so happy that I couldn't help but smile as well.
It sounded pathetic but it was my first time in an amusement park. I remembered my hesitation when Hunter told me about his plans for our first date. I agreed, not really expecting anything. I was very happy I did. This was the best first date ever. Hunter had a way to make everything perfect just by being there.
It had been a week since Hunter and I became official. After his confession, he asked me to be his girlfriend and with no hesitation, I said yes. I had to admit I still couldn't believe he'd been in love with me for years without me knowing. Everything came of as a big shock to me.
Even now, It still felt like I was in a cloud nine. I was so happy, it was starting to scare me.
I stayed sitting there for a while, lost in my own thoughts. I started to feel worried when no Hunter showed up after twenty minutes.
Feeling impatient, I decided to walk towards the lemonade stand to look for him.
I immediately spotted him near the cashier, holding two lemonade drinks in both hands. He was talking with a pretty brunette girl wearing a white tube top and denim shorts that showed off smooth, tanned legs.
The girl was talking animatedly while Hunter just looked adorably confused.
An unreasonable emotion crept up my spine the longer I stood there watching my boyfriend talk with another girl. My stomach hollowed.
The girl leaned closer, giving him an all access view of her cleavage. Hunter took a step back but the girl didn't let that stop her from leeching to his side. She got on her tippy toes and in a swift move, kissed Hunter right on the lips.
The punched-in-the-gut feeling nearly doubled me over. I felt my blood boil.
What the hell?
Hunter's eyes widened in surprise but they went even wider when he finally noticed me staring. He immediately pushed the girl away and started running towards me.
Dazed, I started running on the opposite side. I kept running even though I heard his voice calling my name. I didn't stop until I was sure I lost him. Taking several gulps of fresh air, I tried to get control of my overexposed emotions. Part of me knew what I was feeling was ridiculous, but it still seemed like the world had stopped spinning.
My breath shuddered in my chest. I squeezed my eyes shut and swore. What I was feeling wasn't right, irrational even. It wasn't Hunter's fault if girls found him too irresistible to ignore. But jealousy was an ugly thing. It blinded every rational thought trying to tell me I was being stupid. I wanted to run back in there and pull out every strand of that girl's hair!
So I chose to stay there, lost in my swirling emotions and messed-up thoughts until I saw a familiar pair of Doctor Martens boots stopped in front of me.
I raised my head and my eyes narrowed when I saw the guy standing in front of me.
"Cain."
My stomach sunk all the way to my toes. What the hell was he doing here?
"What a surprise. I didn't expect to see you here." He said looking anything but surprised.
His hair was tied into a messy bun and he was wearing a simple black shirt and jeans. He craned his neck to glance at my side as if expecting to see someone there and frowned.
"Where's your companion?" He said, one eyebrow raised.
Taking several deep breaths, the worst case of verbal diarrhea happened.
"I don't know! Maybe he's still off kissing all the hot girls he could find. I honestly don't care!"
Cain flashed a smile.
"Ahhhh. Jealousy looks good on you, Sky."
"I'm not jealous!" I lied.
Cain shrugged.
"You're a bad liar."
"Why are you even here? Are you stalking me?"
Cain let out an amused chuckle.
"I own this park."
Right. Obviously.
I pouted and tried to walk past him. I didn't feel comfortable talking to him when I already had a boyfriend... even if I just witnessed said boyfriend canoodling with another girl.
He rushed to my side and started talking to me again.
"Not so fast, Sky. I told you I'm still not giving up on you." He said, looking entirely too smug for his own good.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"You're just wasting your time."
"My time is mine to waste." He answered.
I stopped walking to give him a cold glare.
"What do you want?"
I knew he and Hunter already settled their misunderstandings. I wouldn't say they were on good terms now but both of them already called a stop to the senseless, idiotic war they waged against each other. So I didn't know why he was still here annoying me.
Cain shrugged.
"One ferris wheel ride with you would be great."
"Stay away from my girlfriend."
Cain and I both glanced back when we heard Hunter's voice.
Hunter marched to my side, he snaked an arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him possessively.
He gave Cain an intimidating look which was hard to take seriously when he was wearing my comical blue cookie monster hoodie. Cain also thought so. He laughed out loud upon seeing Hunter's outfit.
"Nice look, bro."
Hunter let out an adorable frown. He looked at himself in confusion.
"What's wrong with it?"
"You look like you stole that outfit from a kindergartener."
Hunter pouted at me.
"Baby, that guy is bullying me." He said pointing at Cain.
I remembered I was mad at him so I freed myself from his hold and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Don't talk to me." I told him in a cold voice.
"Fine then."
To my utter surprise and humiliation, Hunter took off the hoodie. I heard appreciative gasps and sighs from the girls around me when his shirt slightly creased upward blessing our sight with the V on his hips for a few seconds.
Smirking proudly, Hunter faced Cain.
"What do you think about my outfit now, bro?"
Hunter puffed his chest obnoxiously, showing the print of his shirt for everyone to see.
I wanted to hide my face from embarrassment. I couldn't even look at him straight. Not when he was wearing that damned shirt.
Cain looked at Hunter's shirt with obvious interest. He ran his tongue over his lip barbell.
My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I heard his reply.
"How much for the shirt?"
Hunter's grin widened.
"It's not for sale."
I stepped between the two of them to stop their ridiculous conversation. I hated that I had to witness these two lunatics bargain over that cursed shirt.
"Stop!" I said, cheeks blushing from embarrassment. I looked at Hunter and gave him a serious, don't-mess-with-me glare. "I don't want you wearing that shirt here." I said.
Something akin to hurt quickly flashed in his eyes. He inhaled deeply and sighed in resignation.
"Alright then. Anything for my girlfriend." I thought he would wear the blue cookie monster hoodie again. I forgot this was Hunter and there was nothing more he loved than seeing me crawling on my knees from extreme embarrassment.
As if in slow motion, he took off his shirt, completely ignoring the screeches and moans from all the thirsty girl within a mile radius.
I swallowed as my eyes ran across his taut biceps down to his six pack abs. I couldn't believe this Adonis was my boyfriend!
Hunter topless was definitely a snack and I worried the girls would start swarming to get a taste.
Hunter draped the hoodie and shirt over his shoulder. He took my hand and dragged me away from Cain, not caring about the number of eyes following his every move.
"Bye, Cain!" He said happily, not even glancing at his old friend.
I saw Cain let out an amused smile, shaking his head. He gave me one last wink before he turned his back and walk away.
My eyes flew to the crazy boy dragging me to God-knows-where. The sun was starting to set and the artificial lights from the amusement park were being turned on one by one.
Shadow casted Hunter's side profile, making him look mysterious, and dangerously delicious.
"Where are we going?" I said breathless. My eyes dropped to my hand he was holding. I was wearing the bracelet he gave me which, for some reasons, calmed my troubled heart.
"Somewhere we can talk privately."
We walked quietly for a while. People often thew appreciative glances at Hunter. Some even stopped on their tracks, obviously starstruck with his presence. He didn't pay them any mind.
It was already dark when we arrived at our destination. We stood at the back of the long line of people wanting to ride the Ferris Wheel. Hunter stood at my back. I felt him wrap his bare arms around my waist and buried his face on my hair as he inhaled deeply.
"I fucking love your smell, do you know that?" He murmured as he casually sniffed my hair. He was still topless so I could feel his warmth against my back, sending delicious waves of shiver in my entire body.
For a moment, I forgot what I was so mad about. I allowed myself to relax and lean onto him. We stood there in quiet contentment, with him occasionally kissing the skin on my ear. I felt butterflies in my stomach the entire time we were standing there. His effect on me was too strong, for one delirious second, I thought about convincing him to just leave the park so we could make out inside his car.
Gosh. This guy was turning me into a pervert.
Hunter let go of his hold on me with much hesitation when it was finally our turn to ride the Ferris wheel.
I was the first one to climb inside the enclosed tube. Hunter followed and sat in front of me.
The staff closed the door and the tube started to move upwards.
I let my gaze wander at the view outside the window. It was beautiful. the whole park was twinkling like a fairytale town. It was almost magical.
"Care to tell me why you ran away from me earlier?" Hunter's voice suddenly broke the peaceful silence.
I suddenly remembered the scene I saw earlier and why I was angry at him. I crossed my arms over my chest and gave him a pointed look.
He just cocked his head to the side, a small smile playing on his lips. It annoyed me even more.
"You were flirting with that girl and not just that, you allowed her to kiss you!" I accused in a wounded tone. I bit my lip and blinked several times to stop the tears from falling. I was so jealous, I wanted to cry.
Hunter grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him making the tube tethered dangerously to the side. I shrieked out of fear and unconsciously wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt his shoulders shook from silent laughter at my reaction.
I narrowed my eyes at him and punched his chest.
"Ow." He complained, though he was still smiling from ear to ear, revealing his beautiful dimples.
"I hate you." I said.
"I love you." He replied. I tried to look away so he wouldn't see my cheeks burning but he put his finger under my chin and tilted my face towards him.
"I love it when you're jealous." He said as he leaned forward to give featherlike kisses to my jaw. I gasped. "I spent most of the years loving you being completely ignored by you so, baby, any reaction from you is precious to me." His lips travelled down my neck and I couldn't help but let out an involuntary shiver. My hands dropped to his naked chest, not really sure whether to push him away or pull him closer to me. I chose the latter.
I felt Hunter smiled against my neck.
"I don't like being jealous." I managed to voice out even though I felt drunk from his kisses.
"Then I promise to always make you feel better after I made you feel that way." He said, pecking my lips.
"Open your mouth a little, Sky." He demanded, eyes hooded and dark.
I did what he asked. He claimed my mouth like he had never done before. He kissed me deeply, scorching my lips as his hand tightened on my waist, pulling me against him. He kissed like a man starving from water, taking long, breathless draft. He gently bit my lower lip as he pulled away only to come back for more. His kisses and touch warmed every cell, filling ever dark space within me with heat from his skin.
Touching him, kissing him, was like having a high fever. I was burning. My body was on fire. Sparks flew. Literally.
The loud boom of fireworks exploding made us come back to our senses. Our eyes flew at the view outside the window.
My eyes widened in amazement as I witnessed the most incredible fireworks display I had ever seen.
"It's so beautiful." I breathed as I stared at the ever changing lights.
Hunter sniffed my neck and sighed in contentment.
"Absolutely." He said, staring at me with so much love, respect and adoration.
