《》The Ultimate Suspicion

I set my phone down, not knowing how to feel exactly. Should I feel pity or remorse for hating her? Honestly I don't know, how did she even die?

So, that's why Logan looked all worn out, was she dead when he came over?

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" I look up at Dominick, he was currently shirtless with gym shorts on, his hair ruffled and unruly. All thoughts of Yasmin and Logan disappeared when I looked at him.

Anytime I recalled Logan's shitty actions as a husband, I thought of Dominick. At times, I still wonder if he's just a figment of my imagination or if I really found someone who cared about me this much.

It feels so good to say that someone cares about me and not second guess or feel insecure about it.

I stand up from the couch and wrap my arms around his neck, he tugs me to his body, hands around my waist. I close my eyes and breathe him in. "You always smell really good," I whisper.

He lets out a low chuckle, "did you miss me?" He kisses my cheek and snuggles his face into my neck, making me shiver.

"Yeah, I did. I miss seeing your face. Oh, and also these." I pull back to lift up his shirt and stare at his hard abs. "Yeah, definitely these."

Dominick is head chef at a gourmet restaurant and we haven't seen each other much due to his schedule changing. Apparently there was a shortage of staff so he's been at the restaurant a lot more to help his boss out.

He laughs and pulls me in again, kissing my lips. "I have tomorrow off so I'm all yours, the babies are sleeping too." He starts walking me backward, toward the bed. When the back of my knees meet the frame, I fall back with him in between my legs.

"Nick, it hasn't even been six weeks yet." He stops kissing me and lets his head fall on my breasts.

"I was hoping you'd forget," he looks up at me, pouting slightly.

I smile at him, completely amused, "forget? You know what the doctor said, it's for a good reason. Plus, I'm sleepy, move over so I can lay on you." I push his shoulder with a laugh.

He slouches over until his back meets the bed and moves his arm so that I can rest my head on his chest. "I'm not a pillow, ya know."

"Could've fooled me," I close my eyes and lightly brush my fingers around the curve of his muscles.

"Are you going to tell me what you were thinking about earlier?" One of his hands is running up and down my back while the other plays with my hair.

I hesitate, not wanting to ruin the moment. "Logan's mistress— girlfriend... Yasmin, she died apparently. I'm not sure how or when exactly but he won't be coming over until later on to see the babies."

His hands pauses on my back, "how do you feel about it?"

"I don't know, I feel numb to it. Should I feel bad that she's dead and he's alone? I don't feel happy about it but I don't feel bad. Does that make me shitty?" I look up at him and frown.

His hand resumes it's motion, fingertips grazing my skin, "It doesn't make you shitty at all. It means you're doing good, don't you think? Do you— uh, do you miss him at all?" He looks away from me as he asks the question.

The corner of my lip quirks up, I reach up to turn his head to mine and press my lips against his. "I don't," I whisper against his lips. There's nothing to even miss about Logan.

"Good." His hands move up to my cheek and he pulls me in closer, deepening the kiss, bringing a moan out of me.

"Three more weeks," he pulls away and rests his forehead against mine. I hum in agreement, lowering my head back to his chest.

I close my eyes and sigh in happiness. Just as I felt myself drifting to sleep, a loud squeal of a cry came from the baby monitor.

Followed by another cry. We both sat up with a smile, "I suppose they feel left out."

I chuckle and we both walk to the nursery. I believe Dakota was the first to cry considering how she quieted when I went to her, when she stopped so did Jr.

"Aw, you want some attention, baby girl?" I pick her up, tears streaming down her cheeks. I hold up her head and kiss all over her face, she only blinks at me. I continue and she still doesn't react but she stopped crying at least.

She just stares at me. "You're not much of a morning person, huh?" Her wispy brows furrow before relaxing.

"How's Jr.?" I look over to see Nick patting his back softly, his tiny head resting in the crook of his neck. He was back to sleep, sucking on his fingers.

"He's already back to sleep, she must've woke him up. How is she?" He turns to me with a grin.

"She's just looking at me, I know the doctor said newborns don't start smiling until about six weeks but she just scowls all the time," I laugh and pull her to my chest.

"Maybe that's just her resting face," he chuckles and moves behind me to kiss her cheek. She closes her eyes and opens them, blinks twice and then closes her eyes.

"What the hell?" I look at him in complete shock. He laughs and sets Jr. back in his crib. I rock Dakota in my arms for a few more minutes to make sure she's down and follow suit. She turns her head to the side and makes an inaudible sound before relaxing. "I can't believe she just went to sleep after you kissed her. What's wrong with my kisses?" I question in a whine, pouting at him.

"Don't worry, Tesoro, it takes time to be this talented. It's okay." I smack his shoulder, making him laugh.

I put the blanket over her and check my sweet boy. I lean down and kiss his forehead before following Dominick out of the nursery.

The doorbell rings, he gets down there before I do and opens the door to reveal Logan.

A grinning Logan.

For someone who just lost his mistress he seems to be doing great, especially since the last time I saw him he looked completely drained.

"Hey! Nick, how are you, man?" He does a man hand shake with a hesitant Dominick.

"It's Dominick to you and I'm fine." He looks at him with a puzzled expression.

"I'm great. Oh, hey, Sarah!" He waves at me, walking a bit further into the house. Nick closes the door behind him and stares at him.

"... Hey, Logan. You're early."

He shrugs, "my plans finished up faster than I thought, also I miss them." He walks further in and points upstairs in question.

"They're sleeping again, you can go on up." He nods with a smile and walks upstairs, Nick and I remain where we are and stare at him.

"Didn't you tell me his girlfriend died or something?" I glance at him quickly and nod.

"That's what he told me. Either he's in shock or maybe he is happy she's dead."

"Well it's not up to us to find out, right?" He looks down at me with a brow raised.

I nod, "right."
