《》The Ultimate Divorce

After two months, we're finalizing the divorce today. And we decided to talk about plans for the baby as well, if she survives. I just have a gut feeling this one is a girl, though I'd be happy regardless.

Yasmin will be there and without much convincing, Nick— He insisted I call him Nick now— will be there too. Before I could even get the words out, he agreed.

I was a bit nervous, the room was going to be very tense. And I knew the very idea of Logan angered Nick, he jokingly said that he'd beat his ass... at least I hope he's joking.

No I don't, Logan deserves whatever Nick decides to do with him.

Legally.

We were ushered into the large room, a huge wooden table centered with six chairs parallel to each other. We were the first to arrive, followed by my family lawyer, Lucas. I figured today was as good a day as any to finally announce the divorce to my family after this ordeal.

I forced myself not to care about what Logan would tell his family. I'm telling mine the truth, no matter how humiliating it is.

Nick sits besides me, Lucas on my right. I feel a hand on my shoulder as Lucas gives me a sympathetic look. "We're going to push for a portion of his estate. You deserve all of it, but let's be realistic. He's already moved out, the only thing we really need to finalize is the money. And Logan is a very rich man. I know your family has plenty but this will be yours, and I'm going to get it for you. Free of charge."

I feel my nose and behind my eyes start to sting at his words. "I can't ask you to do that, of course I'll pay you—"

He's already shaking his head at my words. "Good thing you're not asking. You're like a daughter to me, kiddo. And men that take advantage of the women that love them are selfish, he's got his mistress, his 'freedom', we've got to take his pride— his money." The corners of his eyes crinkled as he grinned at me.

"I agree, no more nice shit. He fucked you over so we retaliate with the same." My brows raised at Dominick's words, he was always so calm and cheery, I'd never seen him so serious.

"Yeah, what he said... who is he again?" Lucas leaned forward to look at my boyfriend— yeah I said it, boyfriend.

"He's my moral support." I lean over and kiss his lips, he happily returns the chaste kiss and rubs my back softly.

"Bleh." Lucas mock-gags like he doesn't have four kids and a wife of thirty-six years.

I shake my head at him and laugh but I'm cut short when the door opens.

In walks Jerry, Logan's personal lawyer and behind him, the dream team.

Satan and his succubus.

Of course Yasmin was dressed in a black dress, surprisingly it came down to her knees. For a whore, she dresses conservatively.

Stop slut-shaming, that's not nice. Bad Sarah.

—Is it really being mean if it's true?

I blink a few times to clear my crazy head. You're an idiot, stop talking to yourself.

"Sarah, Lucas, and—" Logan looks at Nick questionably.

"Sarah's future." He smiles at Logan sarcastically and ignores the hand he holds out to shake.

Logan pauses slightly at his words before grimacing and introducing Yasmin. I look at Nick, wondering if he would be attracted to her like Logan was. But he doesn't even spare her a glance.

"Right. Uh, let's just get this settled, shall we?" Now that everyone is seated, Lucas clears his throat and begins.

"Since there wasn't a prenup involved when you two married, Sarah will be receiving 5% of your company earnings—accumulating to 43 million dollars. You're worth over two billion dollars, we believe that this is fair. Considering the emotional suffering and broken promises you've caused Sarah." Once Lucas finishes speaking, he sets a file of papers down and slides them across the table to Jerry.

No one says anything for a very long time. I notice Yasmin lean over and whisper in Logan's ear. He looks down and nods at her words. Anger flares through my body but I swallow it down.

Down even look at her, Sarah.

He only has to look at Jerry for him to respond. "Five percent, Lucas? Are you joking? Absolutely not. We propose one percent at the very most." Jerry was roughly in his forties but his squeaky voice made him seem like a four year old.

His eyes shoot to mine, I ignore him to look over at Dominick who hasn't moved a muscle, stiff as a board.

Lucas stares at Logan for a moment. "Four."

Jerry scoffs with a laugh before frowning. "One."

"No." I try not to laugh at Lucas' short answer.

"Be reasonable Luke!" Jerry smacks a hand on the table with a shocked expression. "Fine, three percent! Three." He makes a gesture letting us know that it as high as he would go.

"Let her have it, Jerry. You have the five percent, Sarah. It's fine." Logan nods with a tired sigh.

Jerry sputters at his words and turns to Logan with an incredulous expression, "that's a lot of money, Logan!" His whisper wasn't at all quiet which made Logan grimace.

"What did I just say? Fuck's sake. I agree to your terms, is there anything else?" Logan waves Jerry off and looks at me.

Everyone follows his action and turns to me, I pause and think. Though, nothing comes to mind. I think a nice chunk of his money does the trick. "No, that'll be all." Logan nods once and crosses his arms over his chest.

We had to sign a few papers to finalize everything, which left us with the discussion about our potential baby.

"Jerry, Lucas, you two don't have to be present for this discussion. Thank you so much, Lucas." The two men stand, Lucas leans down to kiss my forehead before leaving after Jerry.

I keep my eyes aimed at the mahogany table as I speak, "I won't take your child away from you. I have more respect for myself and for this baby than to be that way. When— if she's born, the first three months, you can stop by and see her whenever. As long as you let me know ahead of time. I don't want her to travel back and forth right away.

"But after that, you can get her every other week. We'll switch on Sunday and switch back on the very next one. In order for this to work, I need you to keep her on a leash." I point a steady finger at Yasmin.

She only raises a brow, saying nothing.

"Sarah, can we just be cordial through this. Sarah hasn't said a word to you or about you." Logan sighs and shakes his head.

"You will never be a mother to my child, do you understand that? My child. You can have him, you can have everything that comes with him, but my baby? Absolutely not." I ignore him and keep my eyes trained on her.

She only blinks at me, then tilts her head. "Why? Are you threatened by me or something?"

"I—" she cuts me off before I can respond.

"I'm not going to steal your 'mommy title,' okay? Relax. I may be a bitch sometimes, but I'm not a fucking lunatic." She rolls her eyes and grimaces.

I narrow my eyes at her, not buying anything that just came out of her whore mouth.

She notices my glare, "seriously. I don't have a vendetta against you, I'm not gonna steal your new boo or your baby. Let's just get on with this. I'm fine with you hating me forever, though I'm sure it'll cost you a helluva lot of wrinkles. Just sayin'." She shrugs before glancing at Logan. He smiles at her.

"See? I can be nice." She whispers to him, making him chuckle.

Not knowing how to feel, I turn to Logan to hear his words on the agreement. He meets my stare and nods. "I agree, we can do that. Thank you for being fair."

"I didn't do it for you."

"I know." His eyes dart from me to Nick before going back to me. "Thank you anyways." He stands up and nods at the both of us, grasping Yasmin's hand, they both leave.

I remain seated, wondering why this was so easy. "Did this really just happen?"

I feel Dominick run a hand over my shoulder and kiss my cheek, "it did. Now let's go do this last thing, tesoro and finish off the day."

I try not to blush at his new endearment, loving his Italian accent as he says the word. I peck his lips and whisper more to myself then to him, "let's do this."

Shortly after the meet up with Sarah, we had another therapy session scheduled. This would be the first that Yasmin would show up for. I made the mistake of thinking that when I dropped her off, she would actually go.

She ended up taking a stroll each time.

So Wendy and I decided that I should go with and attend the sessions until Yaz is comfortable.

She agreed.

With some persuasion.

And here we sit, Wendy asked Yasmin how she feels today and she still hasn't answered. It's been ten minutes.

Sighing, I interlock my fingers together. "Yaz, please cooperate. It's only an hour, answer the questions and we can go. This is for you."

She sighs before saying, "fine. Okay, fine. Hmmm... how am I? I'm actually feeling pretty shitty. My boyfriend's wife is having a baby—"

"Ex-wife. We just di—"

"I don't care! Every fucking time, every time I think I'll be happy, what the fuck happens? And I'll be honest! I fucked a married man. Multiple times! That was on me and he fucked his wife in the same room that I was in while I had to hide in a closet. A fucking closet!" I looked over at her as she threw her hands up in the air.

"And you!" She points her finger at me, making me frown. How did we even get here, weren't we just smiling and joking over an hour ago?

"I was fine with my shitty life before you came! Literally!"

Wendy snorted a laugh at her words before clearing her throat and grimacing. "Ahem. Sorry. So, obviously you have some feelings about your relationship with Logan that you haven't expressed. What made you feel the need to withhold these emotions?"

"Hell, I don't know. It's easier to." I sat up straighter, finally she's opening up.

Wendy frowns slightly, "why is it easier? Suffering in silence, that is. How can anyone help you or know what's wrong if you never say anything?"

"Because I've had to be silent about my feelings my entire life. It's safer that way." My brows furrow at her words, what does that mean?

"You said your entire life, why would you need to keep your emotions hidden to be safe besides in relationships?" Wendy's question made Yaz pause.

She looked down and swallowed quickly, "my parents."

Right before my eyes, a different woman sat before me. Her voice was quiet, her body sagged in her seat, eyes aimed at her lap. The very opposite of the Yasmin I know.

"And what about your parents made you feel unsafe?" Wendy was writing at a rapid pace as she asked the question.

"Everything."
