I stopped speed-walking out of the café and paused by the sidewalk. I could feel Dominick walking slowly towards me, he placed a firm hand on my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" I swung around to face him, tears streaming down my face.

"No, I'm not okay! That bitch, she's always so fucking smug! She ruined my life! Him and her, and she had the audacity to embarrass me and of course you had to see that. And me like this! Just great." I was a sobbing, sniffling mess when I felt his arms wrap around mine, my head on his chest.

It was a very nice chest.

He rubbed my back and pulled away slightly to look down at me. "I've been cheated on before, I know what you're going through. Well, kind of. We weren't married but I was a few days shy of asking for her to marry me when I caught her and my brother in bed together."

I tried to hide my wince but he gave me a sad smile when he noticed. "Yeah, my own brother. My point is, the best thing you can do is kill them with kindness. Get yourself to a better place so that they can't pity or look down at you. Hell, it might even make them guilty to see you happy. It's not easy, but the most important thing is to try."

I stared at him in awe, "how did you do it?"

"It happened three years ago, I would be stupid to say the pain is no longer there. We were best friends first and lovers second. Her betrayal cut me deeply, I'll never forget what I saw and the pain it brought me. But what I can say is that I have the power to choose who I want in my life. As do you, you just have to gain some of that power back that you gave up while being married."

He gestures for us to walk, I walked along side him, staring up at him like a child looking at a superhero. He was so fascinating to me, he couldn't have been more than a few years older than me and yet he held so much wisdom.

"My power?" I repeated as if the word was foreign to me.

"Your independence to be precise. Signing the papers was the first step now all you have to do is keep moving forward. No backpedaling, strictly uphill battles from now on." He gave me a teasing grin, his teeth practically shining in the sunlight.

"Uphill battles. Got it!" I nodded my head rapidly making him laugh.

I used to think Logan was the most handsome man on earth, I've been in love with him for so long, it was hard to ever see beyond him. But I can see now, the view is absolutely phenomenal.

Hands down, this man was beautiful. His aura and the vibes he gave off were so sweet and kind. But he balanced it with the obvious masculinity, I could tell he worked hard for his body. He practically oozed sexiness.

"So what do you say?" I blink at him, shocked because I hadn't heard a word he said.

"Sa—wh—huh?" My brains wasn't communicating with my lips that I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of such a gorgeous being. He didn't make fun of me though, he tilted his head and smiled at me.

"I asked if you wanted to take a walk in the park and catch some dinner afterwards. Give us time to get to know each other better." I was nodding my head before he even got to finish, creating an amused look on his face.

"Lead the way, please." He stuffed his hands in his pockets, staying close to me and we walked.

We talked and we talked about everything. I laughed more in those two hours than I had in years.

The sun was beginning to set when we walked back. Our talking dimmed down to a peaceful silence, when we were near some restaurants, he asked me what I wanted to eat.

"Italian or ch..." I trailed off realizing the amused look he gave me.

"Italian, huh?" I couldn't help the blush when I realized my words. But truthfully, I knew I was deeply attracted to him. I also knew that my heart was still broken and I wouldn't jump into a relationship just to guilt those assholes.

But I knew that I definitely wanted to jump his bones. But I would resist!

For now.

"You know, I'm an expert in all things Italian. Especially it's cuisine. I could cook for you...?" He was looking at his shoes when he asked, as if embarrassed to ask.

"I would love that, Dominick." He looked up and met my smile with a goofy grin. He tried to hide his excitement by turning around and pumping his hand in the air with a "yes!"

I playfully pushed him, laughing at him. He led me to the Franco's Café parking lot with a hand on my back, "you can follow me to my house, or I could drive you and drive you back here. Whichever works for you." He looked at me expectantly.

"I can follow you there." I gave him a small nod and headed to my car which wasn't far from his.

"It's only a ten minute drive," he gave me a wink and hopped into his car. I got into my car and started it up, easily catching up to him as we left the area.

I didn't know what this night would entail, but I'm making a promise to myself not to sleep with this beautiful man.

It had been hours.

By now, any anger or frustration I was feeling had been wiped away. Yasmin hadn't come back and she wasn't answering her phone.

If anything, she would've at least cursed me out. But I got nothing.

I was pacing her floors like a mad man, then I got a call.

I snatched my phone from the glass table and answered, "hello?"

"Hello, are you well acquainted with Yasmin Krämer?" I struggled to take in a breath as I listened to the male voice speak over the line.

"Yes, I'm her boyfriend. What's happened?!" I quickly grabbed my keys and my jacket, practically running to my car.

"Sir, she's been in an accident."

❤️❤️❤️

I'm trying. I really am.

That's all, I'm done ranting.
