I smiled at Sarah sweetly, her face reddened in anger. I looked at the attractive guy that stood behind her, he looked around, confused. "I'm sorry, did I miss somethi—"

"She's the complicated part of my relationship status. She fucked my husband," Her hands balled into fists by her sides.

"What, you want to start a fight in a coffee shop? Come on then, Sarah. Since you're so bad," I stand up and face her.

I'd hate to end up getting kicked out of here for beating someone's ass without my coffee and croissant but... you gotta do what you gotta do.

"As hard as it is for you to understand, I asked him multiple times whether or not he wanted to continue. I even gave him an ultimatum. And guess what, hun? He chose me." My words cause her to tense up and I notice her hand pull back.

Just as it nears my face, I grasp her wrist and push her hand to the side. "Try again."

She looked around, noticing all eyes on us. Biting her lip, tears spilled over her cheeks. "Is this what you wanted? You got him, Yasmin. You won. The both of you won! What more could you possibly want from me, huh? I have nothing left, I have no one!" I bristled are her shouting.

"I'm not the one that started this. You came up to me, I don't want anything from you. You signed the papers, he left you. I'm happy." She wiped her face and laughed.

"Burn in hell, you and Logan." With that, she walked away. The man she came in with trailed behind her, out the door.

Ignoring the looks, I went up to the cashier who gave me a snobby look and snatched my order from her. "Oh, don't stop on my account. Go about your business!" I roll my eyes and walk out of the establishment, getting into my car.

Breathing heavily, I place my hands on the wheel and let my head hang. I don't want to be the bad guy, for fucks sake. I thought back to the pained expression she gave me.

Clenching my jaw, I put the car in reverse and back out of the parking lot before driving back home.

You just had to fall for the married man, huh?

No, this ain't all your fault. You gave him a chance to be out, he chose you.

But what more could I say to her? That I was sorry, deep down I'm not. I pitied her situation. And what would me telling her that do for her? What's done is done.

Yeah, but you know what it's like.

To feel like everyone and everything is against you. And yet, you make someone feel worse for it. That doesn't make you innocent.

I stopped at the red light and sighed. My mind immediately went to that dark place.

——

I didn't notice the car coming at full speed as it made contact with my car.

Then everything went black.
