Logan walked through the door, I'd gotten him a key to my house. Though he decided it would be best that he still move his things into a condo close by. Like me, he had property all over the U.S. and in other countries.

"How did it go? Did she sign?" I try my hardest not to hound him when he walks in because he looks tired but I couldn't help it.

"She did," he said shortly. He dropped down to the couch and rubbed his forehead.

"Okay... but that's good, right?" Something like fear flickered within me, is this not what he wanted. What wanted?

"Yes, it's good." Trying not to get angry, I simply sighed and walked upstairs to the bedroom.

Just give him space, Yaz.

I pull out my laptop and begun working, Logan's dad wanted us to look into internships for high school students. Rachel, our PA gave us a huge load of potential interns to look into. On top of the work we normally have to do.

So, I'm stuck with this. Why Rachel couldn't just do this was completely beyond me. But big Boss man's orders.

"Yaz." I don't even look up at him when he walks into the room.

"Logan."

He sighs, "I'm sorry. I'm just processing everything."

I nod, still not looking at him.

"Yasmin."

I look up to see him with his arms cross over his chest.

"What?"

"I'm sorry. Did you not hear me?"

"Yeah, I heard you. I'm giving you your space to process things." I look back down and continue my work.

"Whatever." He walks back downstairs and I hear a few things slam, which draws me out of my work once again.

Is he— is he slamming my shit... in my house?

I get up and walk downstairs, slowly.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" My voice was calm, not loud in the slightest.

"I can't find any liquor. Where the hell is it? What, do you not drink or something?" He asks the last question sarcastically.

"I do, but with the way you're acting, there's not way in hell I'm letting you drink." An angry man makes for a scary drunk, this I knew from experience. The way Logan was acting now was way out of character, I couldn't imagine how he'd be while under the influence.

"Letting me?" He began to laugh and slammed another cabinet. "I'm a grown man, I don't answer to you Yasmin."

"Are you a grown man, with the way you're acting, you could've fooled me."

He turns back to me and glares.

"It may be hard for you to comprehend, but we just ruined someone's life. Someone that I—"

"Wait, wait, we? That was your wife! Not mine. Any time I tried to end things, you didn't want to. If you want to go back to your wife, be my fucking guest. But don't tell me that I should feel guilty or mope around for my or your actions! You made your bed, be a man and lay in it!" Anger flowed out of me, through every word.

"I did this for you!" His face had transformed, Logan was never one to get angry easily. But I guess, I brought it out of him.

"No! You did this for you! You said you'd leave your wife for me! I didn't force you!"

"You didn't, huh? You told me that if I didn't—"

"So you're mad becuase you wanted to keep your wife and keep me as the side bitch? That's why you're throwing a fit? Slamming my stuff, in my house? Grow up, Logan." I roll my eyes and grab my keys, stomping out of the house. Just before I make it out of the door, he pulls me back inside and pushes me against the door.

"Just because I'm not overjoyed about divorcing my wife, it doesn't mean I care or love you any less. And I'm sorry that I tried to blame you, because you're right. I just need time to come to terms with what I did. But, I don't regret it, I just hate that it hurt Sarah because she was innocent in all of this." I turn my head to the side, my chest heaving from the adrenaline pumping through my body. He stood over me, caging me against the door with his arms on either side of me.

"Then what am I supposed to do while you come to terms with this? Do you want to break up so that way I won't be in your way, what do you want?"

"No, I don't want to break up, I'm going to go for a run and clear my head. Don't leave, stay here and relax. I just need to clear my head. I'll be back." He lifts my chin with his finger and I look up at him.

"I'll be back." He moves in to kiss my lips, but my words stop him.

"Isn't that what you told Sarah a week ago?" He stops just an inch away from my lips and gives me a hard look.

"What are you trying to say? Why are you being so difficult? I'm trying to apologize."

"I'm not being difficult, all I'm saying is this shit isn't going to work if you get upset and turn shit around on me. I'm not Sarah, I hope you remember that next time." I grab my keys and walk out of the door.

He doesn't stop me this time.

Hopping in my mustang, I drive to a coffee shop, it was never too late for coffee in my book.

Leaving the parking lot, I locked my door and walked into the bustling establishment. Let's just say, Franco's Café was not messing around.

There was maybe five bookshelves to the far right with a comfortable lounge, people looked at books and others sat while reading. On the far left of the café, there were the loud, coffee drinking people. In between both sides, I believe a sound proof door separated them. And a long line awaited me as I walked further in.

I felt at ease as I looked around more, blue and green colors made the café feel comfortable and in the reading section, lavender decorated the walls.

"Ma'am?" I snapped out of my reverie, not noticing the line had moved.

"Sorry, I'll have a coffee and a chicken croissant, please." The barista smiles at me and nods, she calls out my chicken croissant to the back.

"Alright, that'll be $11.27. Can I have a name please?" I tell her my name and insert my card to pay, she hands me my receipt with my number on it.

Taking the receipt, I thank her again and find a seat to the far side, near the window. A nice little section was left vacant, I didn't mind sitting alone.

Probably should've brought your things to work.

Shaking my head, no you shouldn't have, just relax. For once.

Relaxing has never been my forte, unless you count sex or the sleep after sex. Other than that, I was up all day and night working since I was eighteen.

Always trying to prove myself worthy to him, welp where did that get you?

Sighing, I look out of the window, watching every individual person go about their day. I remember even at a young age, I would look at a group of people and be amazed at how you could never know what happens when a person goes home.

They could have a loving family, happy kids, bad kids, money problems, marital issues, the list would be endless. And walking past them along the street, you would never know.

It still makes me wonder to this day.

I tense up as I notice a familiar person walking into the café. And with an unfamiliar man next to her.

They were talking before she stopped completely and looked around.

I realized my name and the number forty-five had been called.

And that's when we locked eyes.

"You." Sarah gave me a crazed look as she turned to me.

"You," I repeated back to her with an eyebrow raised.

What a surprise.
