Part Two- Danny

"Aaron..." My protests died as he nuzzled my neck, his scent muddling my senses. I could only shiver as he let out a deep laugh, arms tightening around me.

"I know some ways to make you feel better." His words made me shudder and I opened my mouth to protest, but I couldn't say anything as he kissed my neck.

"Let me pamper you, princess."

I felt myself blush at his words, watching as he leaned in closer to me, allowing me to take in his scent. His lips would have enveloped mine had it not been for the rhythmic knock against the door and I felt myself smile as Aaron stopped in his tracks, eyes narrowing at the direction of the door.

"I'm gonna kill him." He spoke and I laughed, knowing all too well that it could only be one particular male at the door. I mean, who else would knock like he was trying to play the drums?

"Don't scare Danny off. If you remember, he's already been off the wall after we all forced him to watch The Conjuring with us." I retorted in response, going to open the door. It was as it was opening that I heard Aaron mutter under his breath.

"I remember you choosing to sit near Raven and not me." He huffed petulantly and I had half a mind to answer him with a scathing response if it wasn't for the door barrelling open, giving way to show Danny who's eyes lit up on seeing me.

"Alexis, you're here already?! I'm glad to see you!" His bubbly voice echoed across the large foyer and I ushered him in with a deadpan look.

"I've only been living here for 2 years, but okay." I responded with as much enthusiasm as Aaron's previous tone yet Danny wasn't listening anymore as he leapt forward.

"Aaron! Show me some love!" He eagerly spoke, throwing his arms around Aaron who let out a pained noise, pulling away.

"I'll show you some love when you stop acting like every hug we have needs our bones embracing too." He huffed yet again and Danny's eyes widened in what seemed to be horror yet before he found dwell down his recent-horror phobia, I interrupted their conversation.

"Where's Justin; he drove you all the way here, didn't he?" I asked curiously and, just as quickly as it had come, Danny's attention span shifted to me and he gestured towards the door. Well, gestured with the free hand that wasn't holding his infamous blue movie blanket; he couldn't watch a movie without it and I recalled a time wherein Raven had to drive back just to grab it from his house.

"Raven needs a ride to get here, so he's gone back to pick her up." Hs explained jovially and I nodded in understanding just as Aaron grabbed his phone from his pocket.

"Great, they can pick up some snacks; the store is just 5 minutes from Venni's house." He answered and I shut the door as Danny edged in, hopping slightly on the spot excitedly.

"Jellybeans! Tell them to get jellybeans!" He urged and I laughed at his excitement. A bit too harshly, perhaps, as it was then that I felt the pounding in my head increase and I doubled over violently on the ground, vision suddenly blurring. It was as though someone had just taken a sledgehammer to my head and I gritted my teeth, raising a hand to my head to alleviate the pain.

"Lexi!" I heard the sound of Aaron's concerned voice before I felt his warmth so he toppled down beside me, reaching a hand to steady me.

"I'm f-fine." My voice was strained at best, trembling with those two simple words and Aaron's hold tightened on me.

"No, you're not! I told you to tell me if you're alright!" He absconded and I grit my teeth at the volume of his voice as it made the pounding in my head increase. He seemingly noticed this, judging from the way he sighed before speaking yet again, but in a much softer tone

"Let's get you to bed, please." There was a pleading tone to his voice as though he was more in pain than I was and I felt myself nod amidst the aches.

"Okay." I muttered weakly, allowing him to pull me to an upright position in an effortless manner.

"I'll go get you some water!" Aaron spoke hurriedly and then I heard the sound of his resounding footsteps. He had only let go for a moment, but that was enough to make me topple yet again, black spots staining my vision.

I felt hands brace me then, but this set was significantly more rougher than Aaron's and I squinted my eyes to get them to focus.

"Alexis... are you okay?" Danny's voice was tepid as he held me and then his muscled form came into focus as he held to my right side, eyebrows drawn together in worry. Despite the pain I was enduring, I couldn't help but melt at his words and concern. I knew, however, that Danny was not a good dealer with worrisome issues. So, I forced my best smile, nodding at him amidst the pounding of my head.

"Pick a movie; I'll be right back." I offered the distraction, but it seemed as though Danny was not set on taking the bait today- something that could be seen as his jaw twitched slightly.

"I... I think you should rest instead." Again, his voice was quiet and, almost, unsure. It was something that was so atypical of Danny and I didn't like it. I didn't like it at all. It was what made me force a smile yet again and I placed my hand against his that was holding me in place.

"Watching a movie with you is resting for me. Now, what about Bridget Jone's Diary, hmm? I'll convince the others too if you want?" I tried to coerce him again into another form of feeble distraction, but the result was similar. I watched as Danny's hands twitched on me before he turned to look at the ground. It was silent for a solid moment before he spoke.

"You don't have to treat me like that, you know." His voice was soft and gentle- a stark difference to Aaron's and Justin's typical nature. I could only frown at his strange words, talking to despite the pain.

"Treat you like what?" I asked curiously and he huffed then, looking up to meet my eyes with his kind brown eyes.

"Like I need more care than you do right now." He answered without hesitation, shocking me slightly. Of course, I had known that there was more layers to Danny than what met the eye, but to know that he knew how we sometimes thought of him was shocking to me. I hadn't know he'd feel that way. I could only gape, not knowing quite what to say which was fine, considering Danny had more to say.

"Are you... are you still alright, Alexis, or... or is something wrong with you?" He asked worriedly and I shook my head vehemently, finally finding my words.

"No, no, I'm fine! I swear to you, it's just a normal day to day illness." I urged out honestly, knowing this had nothing to do with any previous ailments, but more so due to a certain man's barbecue food. Danny looked at me for a moment as a silent drolled past us and, I don't know why, but I felt anxious at the silence. It made me feel as though I was being assessed and the anxiety would have begun to run deeper if Danny hadn't moved forward, hauling me into a tight embrace. I could only tense as he did so, not expecting it as I subconsciously drew my arms around him.

"Please, listen to Aaron and take care of yourself. Please, Alexis." Danny's heavy voice sounded in my ear from how close he was and I sucked in a gasp from how tight his arms were around me. It was as though he was afraid I would disappear right now and I tightened my hold around him also.

"I'm fine, Danny, I'm fine. It's just food poisoning, I promise; I wouldn't lie to you." I soothed and I felt his stiff form relax at this, making me smile at his concern.

"And, just so you know, I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to annoy you till the end of time, so don't think of getting rid of me that easily." I joked, making him laugh as he kissed my hair.

"I love you a lot, so don't even think about leaving your best mate." He responded, making my smile widen as I held to him. I knew, in that moment, that I had struck really lucky to have a friend like him. Although the rest of us made fun of him many a time, it was only because we felt so affectionately towards him. I couldn't bear it when he was upset and he, seemingly, could not bear it if something was wrong with me. I was very lucky, indeed. So lucky that I couldn't help the smile that graced my face.

"I love you too, idiot."
