OMT was inspired by an idea I had of millennial dating. I love the idea of falling in love young, but more than not it doesn't work out. I also love second chances. I love the idea of people getting back together after they've had time to grow. OK, maybe it was a bit inspired by my dating life too!
?
I struggled with the timeline! I struggled with writing in order. I would get so wrapped up in a specific scene I wanted to write, that I would skip ahead. It's hard making sure everything fits into place when you write out of order!
3
The overall response I've gotten for OMT has been positive. I've heard the protagonist is relatable and her PoV internal monologue cracks people up.
4 ?
The part I enjoyed writing most: NEW YEARS. There's a string of New Years chapters that are magical and transformative. And I reread them often.
5
OMT is book #1 of what will (hopefully) be a trilogy. The sequel is already streaming!
6
I want my readers to take away EVERYTHING. I want them to love the characters and feel like they're friends with them. But also, I hope readers self reflect after reading it. I hope readers know that love isn't perfect and it's OK.
7
Advice: Focus isn't everything. If you try too hard, it won't seem authentic. DON'T RUSH. There is no chapter limit and no time constraint when writing. Craft your stories and characters and let things unfold naturally. We all know Rome wasn't built in a day.
8
OMT's main character, Emmy, is a fictionalized version of me. We share the blonde hair and the dark humor, and I also gave her my taste in men.
9
Shares, Views, Votes, Comments, Etc. all help gain new readers. I think more reader reviews would help draw in new audiences. I want to draw people in because they're attracted to my story and to my characters and because other readers won't shut up about it!

CURRENT PROJECT: OMT's sequel, WE GO DOWN is streaming now! I'm also super excited about a new time-travel fantasy project.

But every decade, this grey atmosphere would crash as hell itself came to bang on their door. Join the awkward Tokken, a strangely unknowing teenager who's finally getting the reality check he needs, as well as the rowdy and reckless Emris, the alcoholic military mess that sees no grey lines between life and death, as they try to abide by the hailstorm that looms over them.
