It was actually something that popped into my head when I was writing a different story with one of my friends.
2
I was struggling a lot with how I wanted the plot to go because I was originally going to make it a full book, but then I decided to make it into a short story.
3
I really enjoyed writing the scene on the bridge (in chapter 3) and the epilogue, because they're both really emotional.
4
Overall, people have really been loving it. They've been loving the book's message and I've even been told that it should be adapted into a short film.
It's both in a way. I took a character from a series I'm writing with a friend and decided to write about this really drastic event that basically changed her life. You don't have to read the series to understand this story, though, so I would consider it a stand alone piece.
6
That suicide isn't the answer and that, no matter what you think, there's always someone who cares about you. Even though it may seem like it, ending everything isn't the answer to your problems.
I would say, write what you want to and don't care what anyone thinks. There are always going to be those people who make suggestions and tell you what they think you should write, but what's most important is that you are proud of what you've done.
8
Lotte does definitely share similarities with me, yes. We're both unsure of ourselves (even though she is more so than I am) and we both rely on our friends. These are only a couple of our similarities, but they're two of the biggest ones.
9
The message. A lot of times, suicide is glorified and romanticized in books, but it's a very serious thing and it's not okay, and so that's how I portray it in my short story, as a very serious and dangerous thing.

Yes, I have a few projects I'm working on that haven't been posted, as well as an idea I'm trying to work out at the moment to see if I can actually turn it into something.
