I wanted to write something unique. I wanted to have a chorus of diverse characters, and I was able to do that with this reality television turned novel idea.

I think the toughest part was having so many different characters. I wanted them to each have their own voice and enough depth that readers would feel connected to them.

The research. I love the research!

Overall, it's been super positive. It hasn't really gained much traction, and I wonder if that's because it starts out rather slowly giving character intros.

Well, I originally wrote it as a first in a series, but I'm not sure if I'll write another one or not.

6?

Oh, man. Maybe a greater appreciation for their own uniqueness?

Write for yourself. I know everyone says that, but it's true. If you write for others, you'll never be satisfied with your own work.

I don't really have one main character, but the reporter, K.C. Washington, probably has a little of myself in there. She's one of those characters that grows a lot during the novel, so I'd like to think I'm more like the K.C. closer to the end!

Well, it's a competition, so I think trying to decide who to cheer for would be a nice added bonus to reading the novel.

I'm currently editing my third novel. It's a non-fiction travelogue about a road trip I took by myself for a week up through New England and into Canada. It's called What I Stole from Walden Pond. I'm hoping to get it on Wattpad in the coming weeks.
