I believe that must have been my fascination with fairies. I've always wanted to write a book about fairies and fairy realms. Also, at the time of plotting The Moonlight Boy, there weren't many male characters. So I thought that writing about a fairy boy main character would bring a fresh approach on this subject.

Finding the time to write the story LOL. I'm not a full-time writer. And with a family, working projects, and my daughters' school, it's challenging at times to find the time to write.

The relationship between the characters. Although set in a fantasy land, my characters feel and behave like ordinary people. They have hopes, dreams, fall in and out of love, experience happiness, sadness, or loss. And that makes them relatable.

It's beyond my expectations. I started The Moonlight Boy as a ten-chapter Wattpad experiment. In almost five years, it's been in #1 Fantasy, Mystery, Action and Adventure. It hit over 1M reads. It won several awards. But most of all, it has a very passionate, dedicated fan base. They call themselves FFC (Ferry's Fan Club). And I could never thank them enough.

It's part of a series of five, with the second book in the series (The Lost Son) being a work in progress at this moment.

I would like them to believe in themselves and know that it's okay to be different.

Always plan your book ahead. I'm a planner, so I always outline a story before actually writing it. It might take longer, but it spares me of a lot of headaches in regard to my writing.

No. In fact, he is pretty much what I aspire to be—always seeing the good in people, helping anyone without expecting anything in return, and accepting his friends with their qualities and flaws without even trying to change them.

The mysteries. Although set in the fantasy world, I developed The Moonlight Boy as a mystery novel. I'm a huge fan of Agatha Christie. So, there is always a mystery to be solved in all my stories. Also, I planted a lot of the clues in plain sight, so the readers can figure out what is going on from the very first chapter of the story. The pieces of the puzzle all come together in the final chapters, so the readers have to read the whole story to figure out what is going on.

Yes, I plan to have The Moonlight Boy (and its sequels) traditionally published. I just got the official invitation from Wattpad to join one of their programs, so my dream of becoming a full-time author is one step closer to becoming reality.
