I wanted to create a more realistic mafia story. I mean come on, why would a powerful mafia boss let a young outsider disrespect him? It just isn't realistic, and I got tired of reading the same plots over and over. I just wanted to do something different.

Trying to keep the realism without going overboard. Especially where the proper use of guns were concerned. The mafia is full of a lot of violence, so it was a bit of a challenge to balance the romance and action, but I think I did a good job in the end.

Amazing! I had over 10k comments in just 10 weeks! Unfortunately, that success came with some drawbacks as some jealous person spam reported my story and wattpad unfairly took it down. When I contacted them about it they apologised, blaming it on some automatic system they had and they could not restore it. So I had to reupload the story. I edited some parts and added some additional content and many of the re-readers love this new version even more, so I suppose it was all a blessing in disguise.

The dynamics between the two main characters. Jade is a sadist and Dominic is a pyromaniac. They are both damaged, physically and emotionally, but balance each other perfectly. I had never written such over the top characters before, but I loved every minute of it.

That even broken people can find their place in this world and no matter a person's past, they can overcome anything.

To write the story that they want to read and write about. That way, no matter what obstacles they face, they will still enjoy what they are doing.
