Hima opened her eyes slowly raising her head to come face to face with Deva who's staring at her face while she took in his features making him say "If you are done staring can you get up Dr.Hima?" to which she pulled back and stood on her feet straight.
"Dr.Deva I'm so sorry I just slipped on the wet floor and..."Before she could complete he said "You should be thinking about how you'll apologize for being late that too on your first day" and walked away from her towards the neurology department making her stand there dumb founded.
"Tell me again why are you late?" Dr.Sid one of the surgeons asked Hima as she sat down at her new desk with a coffee slowly sipping it enjoying the feel of it in the cool weather and looked at Sid.
"That's my train's fault how would I know it would stop in between due to some malfunction" Hima said rolling her eyes making him nod in understanding as she completed her coffee and threw the empty cup in the dispenser as the compounder came towards them.
"Hima mam MD sir wants to meet you in his cabin" The compounder Veeru said making her groan as Sid smiled and patted her shoulder as she stood up and followed Veeru to Deva's cabin in the fifth floor.
His cabin was bigger than any cabin in the hospital and since he's also a neurosurgeon that too top most in the world and gets paid millions he's respected and also scared in the hospitals he previously worked.
And when he decided to give out free medical treatments in different countries from past five years he travelled at least three countries for two months a year and his schedule was always hectic and this time he couldn't stop from coming back here to his mother land where he lost his everything.

The door to his cabin opened revealing Hima who came inside making him put the report aside as she stood opposite to him with her hand in one of the pockets as he said "You are going to work a week of night shifts too from today and you'd not get to perform any surgeries for a month and I think you very well know why I am punishing you".
"That's absurd I'm one of the best certified surgeon and it's what I do. You can't hold a personal grudge against me Dr.Deva" Hima said hearing his absurd punishments making him smirk as he passed the report towards her.
"Then you can happily resign or you can just study the patient on who I'm going to operate next week" Deva said and stood up setting his coat properly before leaving out towards the patient wards to do his rounds.
She stomped her foot on the ground and took the report following him towards the patients ward as the doctors reported him their conditions and the interns were noting down the necessary information of patients and what Deva was instructing.
The day went on discussing various cases and attending patients and developing the equipment required for the hospital and when he finally returned home he heard different voices and went inside to see Raja Narsimha Raayala sitting on his sofa royally along with his assistant and his neice.
"There he's. Welcome home Dr.Deva" Hima sarcastically said raising her eyebrow. She's now changed after taking two hours break since she has to attend the night shift too because of this devil doctor she's stuck with.
"Isn't it getting late for your night shift Ms.Hima?" Deva asked as he walked towards the trio and saw Maniamma bringing them coffee as the king stood up and extended his hand for a handshake.

"Hello Dr.Deva it's nice meeting you. Thankyou for choosing our village for your medical treatment" the king said making Deva look at his extended hand and shook it after a pause firmly making the king narrow his eyes a bit and pulled back his hand.
"And also I see you have met my neice Hima please teach her more and don't go easy on her since she's related to me" The king said looking at his neice making her look at him.
"Don't you have to go?" Deva said again making her roll her eyes and say "I still have a hour to start my shift" to which he looked at her with narrowed eyes as everyone took their seats taking the coffee from Maniamma sipping it.

Blood and Gold
Having failed to manifest any attunements on the Testing day, Elias is disowned and cast out from his clan, the royal clan of the Holstein kingdom. Unwilling to stay down and to accept the clan's view of unattuned individuals having no power, Elias seeks to grasp onto and change his fate. If he can't move mountains with his fist, can't he at least move mountains of gold? Elias would show his clan and the world that even an unattuned individual is worthy of respect, even that given to the strongest. This is his journey. Darius proved his mettle and showed everyone his potential when he attuned to both the aspects of fire, the royal element, and blood. With a fast-track to general all but guaranteed, the only thing he could have hoped for was for his twin, his dearest brother, to join him by his side. Unfortunately, Elias tested as unattuned, the level that was reserved for weaklings that deserved to be cast out and trampled. Or at least, that's what the clan says. If his brother couldn't hit with the strength of a legend, didn't he just have to hit twice as hard to compensate? Darius would show the weaklings around him just what the apex of diligence and talent looked like. This is also his journey. The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
