《Broken-(A Loki Fanfic)》Chapter Twelve

This is weird.
"Just keep running. You're pretty far ahead, but if you even slow down for a second they might catch you."
Great words of encouragement. Definitely not concerning at all. Thanks.
"You are quite welcome," he retorted. It's nice to have a sarcastic little shit in your head. "Now, now. Don't be so rude." I was going to have to learn how to control my thoughts better if I was going to have him in my head all the time.
I followed the tugging sensation in my gut as I ran towards a side entrance to the castle.
"Make sure there's no one inside. I doubt there is, but check anyways." I carefully opened the door and peeped my head in. I didn't see anyone, but I waited a few second before going in. "Watch out for guards." I ran down the halls as quietly as possible. I had to hide from guards a few times, but I made it through just fine. "You're rather good at this."
Shut up.
"Wherever did you learn to be so sneaky?"
I said shut up. I'm trying to focus.
"Alright, but you might find it necessary to know that the guard is still in front of the doors just as he was the other night. And every guard has likely been told to kill you on sight."
Well that's great. I kept running until I got close to the entrance to the dungeon. Now what?
"I should be able to temporarily render him unconscious. Just give me a moment." I waited for a bit until he told me to go. I quickly and carefully opened the door and went inside. I closed them behind me and ran towards Loki's cell.
"Hello again," he said when our eyes met. "I'm glad that you could join me."
"Yeah, hi. So how exactly am I supposed to hide in here? Hallways aren't exactly great hiding spots you know."
"You're rather persistent today. Alright then, take my hand." I froze. Was he crazy? I wasn't going to go anywhere near that barrier.

"No way. That thing could burn my freaking hand off." He rolled his eyes at me.
"Please, just take my hand." This man was definitely crazy.
"I don't think so."
"Please, trust me." When I looked into his eyes, I saw desperation. "I beg of you. If they find you anywhere, they will slaughter you. I do not want that to happen to you."
"Okay." His face perked up a bit with surprise. He extended his hand to me, noticeably not touching the barrier. I hesitantly lifted my hand. Our hands were close, but not yet touching.
"You have to trust me and give me your hand." I nodded and closed my eyes. I shoved my hand towards the barrier, half expecting it to be burned off. I opened my eyes when I felt his hand holding mine. "See?"
"It worked? It worked. It actually worked." He smiled and pulled me through.
"You are completely safe, just like I said."
"If you could pull me through, how come you haven't escaped?"
"Ah, yes. Well, you see, this cell limits my powers. Pulling you through was difficult, yes, but not nearly as straining as it would be to get myself through. I most definitely would have gotten killed or at the least severely burned."
"Oh."
"Yes, it would be quite a predicament. Now, just make yourself comfy, I suppose." I gave him a puzzled look. "See, I hadn't exactly planned on what you would do once you got here, only that I could protect you when you did. But fear not, for I shall eventually have a plan."
"Right. So, what do you do in here?" He paused to think for a moment.
"Well, most prisoners don't have anything in their cells at all, but thanks to my mother I have a few things. She's brought me some books, but I do not think you will be able to understand them. I, er, I have a ball."

"A ball?"
"Yes," he said as he reached into his pocket. He pulled out a dark rubber-looking ball and tossed it to me. "Do with it as you please." I was tempted to throw it at his head, but I decided that would be rude. I threw it against the wall and caught it when it returned. I continued this process as Loki paced back and forth.
He came to a sudden stop and turned to face me. "You must hide."
"What? Where?" He looked around quickly.
"Er, just stand in the corner, and I'll do my best to hide you. Whatever you do, do not make a sound."
"Okay." I said as I rushed to the corner. With the wave of his hand, Loki had made me invisible. I would have been really excited had I not been in hiding.
"Hello, Loki," a female voice said as a woman appeared in front of him. She had golden blonde hair that was partially pulled into braids. She wore a beautiful golden yellow dress that reached the floor, and it suited her perfectly.
"Hello, Mother." I almost gasped, but I quickly put my hand on my mouth.
"How are you?"
"Fine enough considering the circumstances," he retorted. "Although, a bit more room would be nice. Along with freedom. But I suppose that's a bit much to ask for." She sighed as she placed her hands on his face.
"Please, Loki. I am doing my best. But your father—"
"He is not my father!" Loki yelled as he pushed her hands away.
"Then am I not your mother?" He hesitated. I saw tears forming in his eyes, but he did well to hold them back.
"You are not." She looked at him with pity, and I felt bad just watching. It was definitely a personal conversation I wasn't meant to be a part of.
"Right, because your mother did an excellent job raising you." She seemed like she didn't want to fight, but she said that anyways. Loki slammed his fist against the wall and cracked it. The woman didn't even flinch.
"You do not know what you are talking about."
"But I do, Loki. I know more than you care to admit." He glanced in my direction before looking back at her. "Do not take me for a fool." She walked towards me, and I saw a fearful look on Loki's face.
"What are you—" He cut himself short when she waved her hand, and I seemed to appear out of thin air.
I couldn't help but cower in the corner. She extended her hand to me, but I didn't move.
"Now, child, do not be afraid." She smiled at me as I took her hand. She pulled me up and then turned back to Loki. "So, you've decided to hide her then?" He nodded silently. "Alright." She turned back to me. "I am Frigga."
"I'm Lilith. Are you going to tell Odin about me?" She laughed.
"Now, I may be Odin's wife, but by no means should I stand by his decision to kill an innocent girl. After all," she glared at Loki as she continued, "it's not your fault that you have that mark on your arm."
"That wasn't entirely my fault either... Mother." Her face lit up as she took my hand and pulled me towards Loki.
"I will help you, but you have to stay safe. And please, Loki, stay in touch with me." He looked as confused as I felt. "You two must stay together. You will help and learn from each other." She joined our hands together, and I felt my face burn up. I looked at Loki whose cheeks were bright red.
"Mother, I'm not sure I understand."
"You will dear, you will. Now, remember what I told you. Goodbye, children. And Loki," she paused. "I love you." That was the last thing I heard before my vision went black.

8 68Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
