《The Alpha's Mistake》-Chapter 26-

I managed to grit out, not failing to notice the crowd that had surrounded us, all of whom were on Dmitri's side.
I was anything but happy -obviously- but I had to speak to Dmitri in a happy tone so that Elora didn't catch on to anything. For a literal child she had a real sharp sixth sense for stuff like this. She could always tell if something was off. I didn't need her knowing whatever it is that Dmitri will no doubt shriek about within the next few seconds.
Elora was getting a bit anxious and stressed looking at me and Dmitri. Children always notice the little things. But to be fair, she isn't the only one reacting to the current situation as the hatred I have for Dmitri is practically radiating off of me and his want for me is spicing up the air with a rather dirty smell, I might add.
I put down Elora who grinned with glee and started piling packets and packets of marshmallows into the trolley. Fck me I've only brought about £20.
Dmitri began growling but I was quick in cutting him off.
I whispered to him, silently begging him with my eyes.
His eyes softened but a lack of trust was swimming around in his icy orbs.
Does this asscrack always have to be reminded that he's the reason his daughter was raised away from him?
Elora had by now finished shoving every single marshmallow packet into the trolley and stood there- giving Dmitri a confused look.
He's a whole Alpha. Not some crackhead at the shops asking for spare change and yet I'd painted him exactly as some crackhead. Oops.
He glared at me as he began to speak but once again he was cut off.
Elora informed me. Sometimes with this child I feel like she's my mother and not the other way around.

And who on earth was this Bia kid telling the others about stuff like that.
She turned to Dmitri. She stuttered. That's my girl. 'Don't to drugs' everyone!
I smirked at Dmitri who I could tell was at his breaking point.
I began pushing the trolley which was fated to be stopped by Dmitri- aka Mr Man himself.
This was something he didn't say out loud. He mind linked me. Didn't our mind link end when he rejected me?
He grumbled, clearly frustrated as one of his pack guards or whoever began piling our stuff onto the checkout.
I acted all annoyed but deep down I was glad because like I've previously mentioned- I only had about twenty quid on me which would not be sufficient due to Elora and the entire shelf of marshmallow packets that she had piled into the shopping trolley.
One of his minions packed all the shopping up and loaded it into the car boot. Another buckled Elora in and had a little session of rating Doc Mcstuffins and Lilo and Stitch with her whilst I spoke to Dmitri.
His face visibly fell but his eyes snitched on his inter turmoil. He wasn't used to being talked back to. His Alpha side was not dealing well with all the disrespect. I could care less.
It's funny how he wants to play happy family now. Elora is my child. Sure he's the father, but from now and forever I have and always will be both her mother and her father figure. I've never let her sense the loss of a father. Sure she's asked me a few times, but that's plain curiosity.
No father is better than a terrible father.
I buckled myself in the drivers seat, not before thanking the others for their help and sending Dmitri a soured glare, speeding away from the rumption Dmitri had created.

I had already tried being civil. I had even mind linked Dmitri- something I thought I wouldn't be able to do since he rejected me and I left the pack but the link was still there- and I tried my best to negotiate with him. I gave him the option of us talking somewhere else at some other time, but it would be obviously away from Elora since he can't be normal even for a second clearly. The entire time in the shop, he kept growling. Growling like a mad rabid dog.
A mad rabid dog that is no longer my problem- as of the past three years.
Elora is my child. And I'll be damned if I let anyone, especially Dmitri, take her away from me.

Not as it seems
Stranded inside the world he'd been writing about for years, Arwen is left at the mercy of the characters and setting he'd so lovingly created. Now trapped and powerless save for his knowledge of the secrets the world holds, he has to find his way back home. Hopefully to make it there in one piece. But things aren't going to be easy, as the further he plunges into his world, the more he will realize things aren't quite what he thought them to be. This story is a case study on a realistic approach to isekai as well as what it means to "know" someone / something, and to "KNOW" them. There will be hard themes and uncomfortable truths, and just like with real life, it will show things as they are unfiltered.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

Medley of Fates Worse than Death
Rick wakes up in a world unknown to him. He doesn't know what exactly happened or why he is there, he just feels he's not from that world as if he had Dissociative amnesia. Soon after waking up, he gets attacked not once, not twice but three times in a single day. Our hero can know how strong enemies are thanks to a special ability of his, but the thing is... What good does it do to know just how weak you are compared to a deadly creature chasing you? This is a LitRPG Fantasy Adventure in which battles are won (or lost) with strategy and wits as our protagonists aren't necessarily the strongest... So if you enjoy more strategic battles I think you will love this story!About the chapters: I will post mostly 1,300 or so word chapters, I love weekly manga and feel like that pacing is similar to the one in a weekly serial chapter, hopefully, you enjoy these chunk-sized chapters :) I only do this for fun in my free time so I think I will probably post a chapter a week, but if my patreon ever gets busy I might put more time into my hobby xD If you feel like checking out some of the newest chapters, I have them over on my Patreon (Currently 5 chapters in advance): www.patreon.com/rija Extra info (Might get spoilery): As the story progresses I intend to add more strategy, politics and economics into the story, but it will still be mostly a LitRpg action-adventure. (Also if you had read my synopsis previously I changed it a bit because the elements I mentioned before in the synopsis won't come into play until much later into the story, and that's why I changed it.)
