The rays of the morning sunshine through the curtains gently hitting my face. I scrunched up my nose a little to rub my eyes. My body felt stiff as I took a good second to sit up. My eyes surveyed the room knowing admittedly this was not the hotel room or Melody's room.

"Who's....whose room this is?"

I moved the covers off me moving into a sitting position on the edge of the bed. Lucky for me there were slippers for me to use. I yawned, stretching my arms as I got up heading to the door. I need to know where the hell I am right now. The door opened almost smacking my face. My poor cheeks have had enough abuse!

"Oh good! Your awake girl!"

I blinked my eyes a couple of times seeing Melody beaming with a smile. Is this Melody? My best friend is never too happy in the morning and would rather sleep in. It's rare for her to be up before me even if we were going on an exciting trip, she would still want to sleep in.

"Who are you and what have you done with the real Melody?"

Melody rolled her eyes as she grabbed my hand pulling me down a massive yet beautiful hall with many expensive paintings handing. Seriously where the hell are, we? Melody seems to know since she's leading me down somewhere like she owns the place. We both ended up in a giant kitchen I wish I could have.

"Melody where are we and what happen last night after that whole drama with my family?"

I need answers and I want them now. Melody knows I will stop at nothing when I want to know something.

"Okay, okay. Just sit down and I will tell you everything."

I eye her suspiciously but sat down for her to explain to me.

"Go on," I said.

"Okay so, after you passed out, Sean carried you to the car and took you back to his home with me tagging along so that you wouldn't have to be alone in an unfamiliar place."

I took a good long minute to prosses the fact that I was in Sean's house! Why would he take us back here and not back home? Am I missing something here? How is Melody okay with this kind of situation? I mean I'm so grateful for Sean helping me out when I needed it, but something seems off. I know for a fact Melody is in on it because she's acting way too natural.

"All right. What's going on here. I know your hiding something from me and I want to know what that is."

"Before I tell you anything Serenity, I just want to know if you remember that wolf you saved."

I gave Melody a strange look. Why is she asking me about that? What does that have to do with wanting to know what's going on? What is she getting at?

"Yeah, I do. Why ask me this?"

"Follow me."

I did as I was told following Melody out into the backyard. Scratch that a backyard that looked like a god damn forest in a fairy tale! Just how big is this place. We walked further into the forest where I saw some deer eating grass and birds chirping away happily. At this moment I do feel like I'm in some fairy tale book. Is this Sean's backyard?! Just my luck, more things I want but know I can never have in my life. Is God trying to tell me something or what?

We both stopped at a clear field where in the middle of the field was that giant black wolf with electric blue eyes from that night and a pair of shorts on the ground.

"What's going on here Melody. Did Sean want me to look at his wolf or something?"

Melody looked at me with a hint of worry on her face.

"Serenity. That wolf is Sean."

Say what now? Is this a joke she's playing on me? Are there cameras around here to prank me? Seriously this girl reads way too many books. I'm cutting her off for good.

"Stop messing with me. Where is Sean? I need to talk to him now."

The sound of bones cracking filled the air where I looked at the wolf to see it was beginning to take shape! Before I knew it, Sean was standing there before me with all his naked glory. Melody looked away fast but I kept my eyes on him. Not because he had one hell of a fit body with abs for days but for the fact that he was a wolf! How can this be real? So, what I'm getting at is that werewolves exist and my dear best friend for many years knew about this big secret. What else is this girl not telling me? Sean picked up his shorts putting them on but not before he catches me looking at him making this smart-ass smirk then wink. This man is lucky he is hot!

"I'm sure you have lots of questions you like to ask," Sean said walking towards me. I didn't feel the urge to run away like other girls in the stories I read with Melody. Something about this feels so natural. It's almost as if I want to be in his arms and to have him never let me go. Wow, that had to be the most girlish shit I have ever said.

"Yeah. You both have some explaining here." I said grabbing Melody's arms stopping her from making a run for it. Nice try. "Please explain to me Sean on what's going on and what you are."

Sean took my hands into his leading both me and Melody over to a stone bench to sit on. Not letting go of my hand not that I had a problem with that, he began to speak.

"Well as you may have already guessed I am a werewolf an Alpha to be exact. The workers that work in my hotel are a part of my pack known as the Midnight Rain pack. My beta is Darren who happens to be Melody's mate."

"What's a mate?" I need to know because that night when Sean saved me from that moronic girl, he called me his mate.

"A mate is kind of like the same as a human saying they have a soul mate. The moon goddess who happens to be our creator gave all us wolves a mate to love and forever protect. Serenity, you are my mate."

Wow, this is a lot to take in. So, Sean is like my soul mate? I mean I do somehow feel connected to him but this is crazy to believe but I just witness the man change from wolf to human so I guess other supernatural beings are real too?

"Melody. You knew this all along and never once thought it was great to bring it up? What else have you been hiding from me?"

She sighed the taking a breath.

"Serenity I knew that Sean and Darren are werewolves from the very beginning when we stepped into the hotel. The reason how I know is that I'm not human."

Well, this is explaining a lot but I'm still in shock mood! I always had a feeling she was not human over the way she eats!

"So, you're a wolf too? It can explain why you eat so much." I could hear Sean trying to suppress his laugh.

"No, I'm not a wolf. I'm a mermaid."

"You're kidding?" She has to be pulling my leg. My best friend is a mermaid! Wait, hold on a second. Back at the hotel pull a wave came out of nowhere. Could she have done that? "Were you the one that did that wave back at the pool?"

That stupid smile on her face gave me my answer.

"This is way too much for me to take in and I don't know what to do. I need some time to myself."

I got up walking away from them to clear my mind. I noticed that Sean wanted to follow me however Melody stopped him knowing that this is what I need. I have to think hard on all this. What I'm feeling is a bit of betrayal from Melody for keeping this from me. To be fair maybe she couldn't tell me at the time. Too many questions are forming in my head not making this easy for me. Right now, I just need to processes the fact that mythical creators are real and not something made up. Oh, I hope to god the whole Twilight movie is not real and vampires don't shine in the sunlight because that's just dumb. It kills it for the vampires. But everything that Sean has done for me up till now does make more sense. I'm his mate so that means we are destined to be together. My soul mate is a werewolf, a billionaire sexy werewolf alpha? I can dig this! I mean I don't like him for the money or looks it's just incredible that this is happening to me. Sean did ask me out on a dinner date I guess I can give it go and see how well it goes down.

Turning my heel around well more like slippers back to Melody and Sean are at rushed over giving Melody a tight hug.

"I made my choice and I forgive you for not telling me this. But promise me no more secrets you hear me?"

"You got it!" Melody beamed hugging me right back.

"What about me?" Sean asked looking at with puppy eyes. Lord that is too cute I just want to kiss him!

"Well, you did ask me out to dinner. Is that offer still up?" I winked causing him to pull me towards him. My hands-on his chest causing him to purr at my touch. Damn that sexy!

"Of course. I'll give you a night to remember." Was all he said before crashing his lips on to mine. It looks like he's been dying to kiss me for a long time now. No need to keep this man waiting any longer. I wrapped my arms around his neck continuing this heated kiss that was suddenly getting me very excited. I could feel something hard poking my stomach making gasp into the kiss.

"Hey, now I'm still standing here! Make love later!" Melody shouted making me pull away fast from Sean's grasp, my face red as a tomato. Did I just do that?

I cleared my throat. "Let's head on back." That was all I could say feeling embarrassed. I can't believe I was making out with Sean and my best friend was standing there watching! To be fare Sean is a great kisser compared to that no-good ex of mine. Thank you, Lord, for showing me that he was not the one! And also thank you for showing me that my family doesn't love me.

Sean placed his arm around my waist leading back to the house or should I say a giant mansion. Being a billionaire has its perks.

"So, does Darren know you're a mermaid Melody?"

"Yeah, does he?" Sean said smirking. He knows and just wants to mess with her. I'm liking him more and more.

Melody glared at Sean. Her showing she wanted to strangle the life out of him.

"No. He thinks I'm just a regular human like you."

Why do I feel offended for being placed as a regular human? I know I'm human but still. Got hate for us human's girl?

"I don't mean that in a bad way Serenity. I just don't know how to tell him."

My dear best friend is having a hard time telling a guy who she is? Seriously what happened to my friend I know and love. Melody is acting more like a girl. Her mother is going to be so proud!

"Darren will be back shortly. Why not tell him then." Sean suggested.

"Guess I will then. Let me call my father first since he will be thrilled to know I found my mate."

Melody left leaving me and Sean to ourselves. Great, I don't know what to say. Hold up is our stuff still at the hotel?

"Sean, I have to go back to the hotel. Mine and Melody's things are back there."

"Don't worry. I ordered a worker to drop your stuff back here. It should arrive shortly around the same time Darren will arrive."

"That's good," I said not saying anything else. God, I feel so shy around him.

"Serenity. Would you like a tour of my home while we wait?"

I smiled. "Sure. I would love that." Holding hands, we walked and talked while Sean was telling me about how this mansion was built by his great grandfather and how growing up to be an alpha leader was hard. He even showed me little secret passageways he used to hide to get out of doing chores with Darren. Spending this time with him was pure bliss.
