"So, let me get this straight. When you went home last night you caught your boyfriend and your bitch of a sister in bed together and he was planning to break up with you anyway!?" Melody said through gritted teeth holding back from storming out and confronting the two who betrayed me. If Melody didn't have a good enough reason to beat the crap out of my sister she sure as hell has one now!

"Please calm down Melody...I'm glad this happened because now I see how blind I was to believe in a man like him could be the one."

knowing his true colors still puts a sting in my heart. Why did he date me if he never really liked me? Everything is starting to make since when I think about it. Every time Ethan had to leave early on our dates or when he visited me Fiona was always there then would leave right after. Who would have thought the both of them were sleeping together behind my back... Thank god I never slept with him! I'll save my first time with the right guy if I ever find the one. The big question that crosses my mind is...Do I want to fall in love again?

"What about this wolf you were telling me about? You told me you found an injured wolf and brought it back to take care of? What interests me is the fact you say this wolf was as big as your car. What did you do? Stuf the wolf in your car?"

Melody gave me a look thinking I've gone crazy. Well. I can't blame her after hearing how the wolf was as big as a damn car. Hell, even I wouldn't believe it. And stuffing him in my car was not easy! Now that the wolf is not even here it's even harder to believe! Did I save a wolf or was it all just a dream? It can't be it felt so real. And those beautiful electric blue eyes...

Melody patted my back giving me a gentle smile. "Don't hurt yourself thinking too much about it. What we really should be thinking about is how we are going to make those two assholes suffer."

"You're not joking, are you?" Seeing that fire burn in Melody's eyes told me she was far from it.

I watch how Melody reached into her front pocket taking out her phone dialing a number. Just who is she calling?

"Hey, dad! Let me borrow your shotgun you bought last week! I'm going to put it to good use!"

I jumped from my seat. "Are you mad Melody!? We are not attempting murder here!!"

Being ignored and continuing her call she ends it by looking at me with a satisfied look. What kind of father would let their daughter use a shotgun? There is more to Melody then I thought.

"Don't worry Serenity. I'm not going to shoot them. No, I'm just going to scare them and make them pay for hurting you. As your friend, you can't stop me from doing this. Your sister has been on my list of people I like to beat the flying crap out of and now Ethan has made the list."

She's right. They are going to pay for this. I'm not going to let them think they won. I will show them that I am not some weak women they can walk all over. Having Melody help me see this makes me feel better because she's a true friend and true sister to me. We may not be related by blood but she's more of a sister to me then Fiona ever was. I have never done anything wrong to Fiona for her to do this to me. I don't get her at all nor do I want to now. She's lost that cause.

"What did I ever do to have a best friend like you, huh?" I hugged Melody tightly before letting go. "I need to get home and shower."

"I'll go with you. I don't want you to deal with those two if they are still there."

"Thanks."

Getting home didn't take long pulling up into the driveway. I thought Ethan would be gone by now, but I can see his damn green Lamborghini parked. Just my luck for him to still be here. Should've stopped at Melody's dad's place for that shotgun. Taking a deep breath, we both get out of the car heading inside so I could shower. Walking past the living room we both see Ethan and Fiona making out on the couch till their attention was on me. Fiona held a smirk thinking she won until Melody walked up to Fiona slapping her hard across the face making her fall off Ethan's lap causing her to hold her cheek in shock.

"Be lucky it was just a slap you slut!"

"The hell you think you're doing to my girl you bitch!?" Ethan shouted standing up ready to hit Melody back.

I quickly rushed over taking Ethan by surprise kneeing straight in the balls watching him fall holding his balls tightly wincing in pain. I wanted to do so much more to him but I had to control my anger or I'll regret it later.

"I don't care what you do to me or what YOU call me but no one calls Melody a bitch when your dating the queen of bitches! You and Fiona make the perfect couple made from hell."

"That was well said, Serenity." Melody smiled taking my arm leading me upstairs. I quickly took my shower not wanting to stay here any longer then I need to. I also decided to pack my bags and stay at Melody's for a while. I didn't bother to let mom and dad know since they could care less about what I do. Just like with Fiona I never got along with my parents. They favored Fiona more for some reason, but I always ignored it never showing how much it hurt me.

"Let's go."

We both got into the car not looking back driving off to Melody's place. I liked how her place was. All nice and warm. The only thing that throws me off is her room filled with posters of many different guns. She even has models of her favorite guns that her father showed her when she was young. It made me wish that I had a father I could be close to like how Melody is with her dad. Too late for that now.

"Serenity, I just realized something?" Melody said grabbing my attention.

"What did you realize?" I asked taking a sip of my green tea I made to calm my nerves and just relax.

"We are so going to hear it from our boss for skipping out on work without even calling."

Shit! I forgot all about work! We need to get a move on ASAP!! I love my job so much I'm not looking forward to being fired!

"Move your ass Melody! We are heading back to work now!"

Not giving Melody any time to speak I grabbed by the back of her shirt dragging her out to my car heading back to work where the demon boss waited for us to explain why we were not in and didn't bother to call. In the end, we just got a scolding with us promising never to do it again regardless of the situation. We are vets and we must act professionally.

"Jeez, our boss is a pain. Saying he doesn't care. What's stuck up his ass." Melody grumbled at her desk snacking on a mini donut.

"Hey, now we can't blame him. We are vets after all. We need to act like it or we will lose face to those who put their animals' lives in our care."

"Well when you put it like that Serenity, I have no room for complaining even if our boss sucks ass."

Just how many times has this girl said ass today? I'm beginning to think that's her favorite word. Today dragged on with no one coming in. The only thing me and Melody could do was fill out some paperwork and answer miner calls. Nothing really big to talk about. If this continues, I will pass out from boredom.

"Melody, want to play a card game to pass the time?"

"Sure. I'm down for that. Better than doing nothing I suppose."

"All right, sit tight. The cards are in my car I'll go get them."

I stood up stretching my body as I went out to my car to grab the cards from the glove compartment. Even though playing cards is old it's better than playing games on a phone. Getting what I came for I headed back inside when I heard a twig snap from behind me. I froze feeling eyes on me. Slowly turning my head, I came in contact with electric blue eyes from last night. Could it be that same wolf I saved?

"Hey, Serenity! What's taking so long?" Melody shouted out grabbing my attention.

"I'm coming!" I turned back to see those eyes once more but the wolf was gone. Was I imagining it? Hold on...I rushed back inside to ask Melody a question.

"Melody! Was anybody else here this morning when you came in?"

"I don't think so. The back door was unlocked when I came in. The only one I saw was you sleeping."

That can't be?

"Then...Who put that blanket over me?"

All I remember was falling asleep next to the wolf I saved. Could it have been that wolf that did it? Okay, now I'm just crazy. A wolf cannot put a blanket over and unlock the door with its paws! What if it was some creepy person who came in? That doesn't explain how the blanket was placed on me!

"Why don't we check the security cameras then? We can find out from there."

"That's a good idea! Way to use your head Melody!"

"What the hell you mean by that?"

"Nothing! Let's go!" I said rushing to the security room typing into the main computer to find the footage of last night. Thank my lucky stars I found it! A video of me pulling in a big black wolf! "I told you, Melody! I was not making it up!"

"Holy Shit Serenity! That's one hell of a big wolf! How the hell is that possible?"

"Beats me. See how I'm just tending to its wound before it wakes up. After he awoke, he tried getting up until I stopped him."

"You need to be more careful here! What if it had attacked you!"

"Yeah, yeah. I know. Let me fast forward a bit." Fast-forwarding to thirty minutes later we both see the wolf waking up again stare at me. What's more, something blocks the camera.

"What's blocking the camera?" Melody asked.

"I don't know Melody."

I fast forward again to see the wolf gone and a blanket over me and the back door open! What the hell happened!?

"So, what do you make of this Melody?"

"I don't know what to think here! What covered that camera!? What happened to that wolf!? Nothing is making sense here!"

Melody is right. Something happened...And I plan to find out.
