《Obsession, Madness & Love (#6)》Chapter 27 | Crush

you, morning sickness.
Oh God, maybe I should have stayed with mom and dad, at least someone would have been there to take care of me.
Aargh. Fuck you, Calix.
I can't believe he doesn't trust me! And I hate myself for still missing him after he shouted at me.
I emptied whatever I had for breakfast in that toilet and once again brushed my teeth.
And I checked the news for any updates on that idiot. I know he is not guilty. I believed him and he couldn't believe me?
And he said he loved me. Loved. As in past tense, what the hell does that mean? Is his love that weak?
I swear to God I am going to kill him once I see him. He got me pregnant and then chose not to listen to me and now I am dying here because of him.
I hope dad gave him a nice beating.
Not having anything else to do, I decided to visit my parents only and maybe stay with them because I can't do this shit alone.
But the moment I opened my door, I found Calix standing there with his finger hovering above the door bell.
His eyes puffy, nose slightly red, cheeks tear stained and his shirt had a few drops of dried blood.
"What the hell happened?" I pointed to his shirt.
He gave me such a sad look that I ushered him inside and closed the door.
"Baby...I am so sorry..." He spoke. "I was not thinking straight and it was so wrong of me to not give you a chance to explain...I am so fucking sorry. Please."
I ignored his apology and gestured to his shirt. "First, tell me about that."
He glanced down at his shirt and sighed and I watched in confusion as tears filled his eyes. "Lucian...it was Lucian...he did all this."
"What?" Lucian? He's Calix's best friend, how could he do all that? He framed his own best friend for murder? What the actual fuck?
Calix broke down, sobbing, literally sobbing with tears streaming down his face, his lips wobbling.
Oh God. Seeing him like that broke my heart.
So, I did what my heart told me to. I hugged him, tightly. He buried his face in my neck and continued to sob, his whole body shaking.
"Are you sure it was Lucian?"
"Yes..." He cried. "I confronted him. He...he told me everything..."
"Oh..." I gently rubbed his back, trying to console him.
That must hurt so badly. I have seen them both since I was a little kid cause half my childhood was spent at uncle's house and half of the time Lucian used to be there, playing with Calix and sometimes I used to play with them though Lucian and I never interacted much.

"Let's get you home, Calix." I spoke softly.
He tightened his hold around me and almost lifted me off my feet. "I am home."
Butterflies erupted in my stomach and my heart swelled with love, skipping several beats for him.
"He was the one who sent me that picture and he told me the truth...I am so sorry to yell at you, I am so sorry for not believing you, not letting you explain, I am so fucking sorry, Althea." He pulled back and cradled my face in his palms. "But I can't live without you, Al. I am sorry."
"That man...he used to be my acquaintance and that day he helped me a lot, gave me very useful advices and when I thanked him, he asked for a kiss on his cheek. The moment I was about to peck his cheek, he turned his head causing my lips to touch his...I would never ever kiss anyone else beside you, Calix." I explained myself even though he already knew, I had to tell him everything.
My eyes searched his and I whispered, "I love you. No other man interests me except you."
His tears had dried and he touched his forehead to mine. "I love you too, baby. More than you can ever imagine. Please forgive me."
"I have." And I pressed a kiss to his mouth but he captured my lips firmly between his.
God, I missed him. It's been only a day when we got seperated but it felt like months.
With my face in his hands and his lips on mine he moved forward making me step back and soon I found myself falling down on a couch and he climbed over me still kissing me. Not stopping for a second.
The passion and the softness of his kiss made my toes curl and I tangled my fingers in his hair.
He eventually pulled back only to kiss his way down my neck making me sigh in satisfaction.
It's as if he forgot about my pregnancy and only remembered it when his fingers grazed my belly and he paused.
He moved down and slowly lifted my t shirt and grazed my belly with his lips. He glanced up at me. "How's my other baby doing?"
"Well...they are angry at their father for leaving them alone and took all their anger out on their mother by making her vomit all morning." And I threw him a glare.
His smile dropped. "Shit. I am so sorry, baby." And he placed a open mouthed kiss on my belly. "So fucking sorry."
I rolled my eyes though I was smiling. "It's okay but the next time you do something like this you better prepare yourself for a divorce."

He growled, not liking the idea of divorce and climbed over and claimed my lips a little harder this time as if he is staking his claim on me.
"You are mine, baby for the rest of your life. Don't forget that."
And I moaned as his hands slipped inside my dress.
.
.
.
A week later, all the drama was solved. All the evidence Calix had collected with the help of Adrian was presented to the court and according to everything, Lucian Astor was charged guilty of murdering Carsten King.
But...
Lucian has disappeared. He ran away. There was no sign of him. He left the country. He was now a fugitive.
"Fucking coward." That's what Calix had said when he learnt about it.
But deep down I knew he still cared about him, despite everything he can't just start to hate him suddenly. It will take him a lot of time to get over everything, the betrayal, the hurt.
Yet he still cared. "How long does he think he can hide? His company is going down anyway, at one point his money will run out, then what the fuck will he do? Beg?"
"I'm sure he knows what he is doing. He must have saved some money."
"Stop caring about him." Calix snapped.
"Me? You are the one who is worried about him not me, Calix. You need to stop pretending like you don't care."
He just rolled his eyes and said nothing more.
Whenever he sees any news related to the whole drama, especially Lucian, he reads it carefully as if hoping he has come back and when I catch him reading that, he turns it off instantly.
"You miss him..." I told him the other day.
He scowled at me. "Don't be ridiculous. I don't miss that fucker. I just want him to fucking come back and face everything and pay for what he did."
I stopped pestering him after that and a couple of weeks later he was back to normal though sometimes I do notice some sadness in his eyes.
I sat between Calix's legs, my back to his chest, his arm draped protectively around my belly as we watched the sunset at a beach.
He took me out on a date saying we never got the time to go on a proper one and I was more than happy.
My mind replayed every memory of us through the years and I was surprised to find ourselves in this moment, especially me, in his arms willingly. And I was loving every minute of it.
I leaned back and glanced up at him and chuckled making him frown. "Why are you laughing?"
"I just remembered something..."
"And that is...?"
"A secret."
He scowled at that. "As your husband you are obliged to tell me that secret."
"There's no such rule."
"But I made it. Now tell me. If you didn't have to tell me then you shouldn't have laughed." He rolled his eyes.
"It's funny and weird..."
"Creating suspense around it will make it more weird. Now tell me."
I moved away from him and turned to face him properly but he pulled me closer, making me straddle him. "You are going to laugh..."
"Althea." He warned.
"Fine. I...um...I once had a...crush on you."
His jaw dropped. "What the fuck? Really?"
"Now, don't flatter yourself. It was just a teeny weeny crush...the type that lasts for a day or two but yeah, I had a crush on you, idiot."
"Nope. You have to elaborate now. When? Where and how the fuck?" He wrapped his arms around my waist firmly so I couldn't escape if I wanted to.
The gentle breeze ruffled his hair and I brushed it away from his face and kissed his forehead. "You were my first crush."
"Althea." He growled in annoyance. "You better start giving me the details before I force them out of you."
Laughing softly, I told him, "Remember when you helped me when I got my first periods. It was then...you were being sweet to me for the first time so...um...I kinda liked you but it faded away within a week because you were back to being an asshole."
His eyes were wide open as if he couldn't believe what I was saying. "You gotta be kidding me! That's why you were blushing so much that day?"
I nodded shyly. "Yeah...you weren't bad looking either..."
"But I literally asked you out on a date then! I offered to be your boyfriend!"
I frowned. "You were just messing with me...you weren't serious or I might have said yes."
"But...I was serious, baby."
"You were serious?!"
"Yes!"
Oh God. And I missed a chance of dating this idiot from the start. "Calix! That's not how you ask someone out, you should have said it in a more serious tone."
"I thought...it would be awkward..." He pouted sadly.
Sighing, I said, "Aargh. We both were stupid back then."
He still looked extremely disappointed by that so I kissed him. "But I am glad we found our ways back to each other."
In a swift movement, he flipped me over so I was lying underneath him and he kissed me harder. "I know, baby. I fucking love you so much."
I cupped his cheek. "I love you too, Calix. I always will."
