Hi beautiful people... Kdrama is everything!

..................................................................................
" Do you want to talk about yourself and Alpha prin- sorry king?"
We were seated in the courtyard where we'd first lived after our release. A few days has passed since the moon people had been released from the cells and although several acres of land now belonged to us, we had to stay here till after the war for our own safety.
I looked around at the people laughing and mingling. They hadn't seen one another for several years, being locked up in cells. It was a wonderful thing to watch but none seemed to realize there was a war knocking on their doorstep. It really helped army after army were into Aradia from several kingdoms for training. The army was a big one with an even bigger appetite.
The moon people had joined in cooking for them but, I'd rather see them training in the fields. Magic could go a long way in helping us win the war.
" Deven!"
" Huh?" I realized my mind had wandered and turned back to the carrots I was scraping. I wasn't allowed to do more than cut up a few vegetables because I was the future Luna and all. But I wasn't even sure I wanted to be Queen Luna anymore. If... when we won the war,my kind would move to our lands and I would be left alone in this kingdom of werewolves. I didn't want that.
" There's nothing to talk about." I said not meeting her eyes. I was a bit annoyed with Milah. She agreed with Brutus staying alive for the meantime so his death wouldn't cause a rift in Aradia. Sierra on the other hand wanted him as dead as much as me. The boys had also been devastated but hadn't pressed for more information.
I smiled as I watched Sierra and Princess Raelynn carry another Basket of Carrots towards Milah and I.
" I just saw Rhydian." Raelynn said with a laugh. " You two had better make up or that frown line will be permanently etched on his forehead.
I paused at her words. " Rhydian was here?" I had seen him several times over the past few days and Raelynn wasn't just joking. The frown was constantly on his face. It was a struggle not to care.
Laughter broke my chain of thoughts. It came from where several men were clustered cutting firewood. Cayden, Czar and Finn were among them having come back to be with their people. Among them was a man named Donovan. He was something of a leader among the former prisoners and had great deal of authority over them. I dropped my tray and moved towards them. I couldn't keep my thoughts to myself anymore.
" Donovan." I said and was greeted with cheers of 'Queen Luna'. The thought that a moon witch would Luna over Aradia deeply raised their spirits.
" Queen Luna," Donovan came out to meet me. He was an old man with a face full of white hair and hard eyes that had seen a lot. But, he was a good man and I was thankful for that. I couldn't imagine how things would be if a younger, more revenge driven man had taken Donovan position. The war would have started with us and I doubted it would have ended well.

" Don't call me that. I'm no Queen."
" Yet." He dismissively. " It is good that we have some representation here for once."
I nodded, feeling queasy. " What do you think about the war?"
Donovan frowned. " It is about time the barrier was destroyed. It was good help but it wasn't meant to be permanent help."
" Do you think we'll win?"
Donovan looked at me, incredulous. " Have the wolves ever lost a war?"
" No they've not." I agreed. " But they've fought humans, fae folk, moon witches. We're not equal to them in strength but the Eastern army is something else. They're just as powerful as the werewolves and I'm worried. I see soldiers everyday. They're so... proud and sure of their victory. They've refuse to acknowledge that the threat is up to the task. They need all the help they can get."
Donovan stroked his beard and nodded.
" You want us to fight with the wolves." It wasn't a question. He knew that was where I was headed.
" I know it's a lot to ask but-"
" We will fight." He said and laughed at my look of surprise. " If the werewolves loose this fight, the whole West looses and I'd rather be back in those cells than be drained by those Eastern vampires. We'll fight."
" Well, that's good to hear." Carrison voice startled me but just as he spoke, a familiar tingling came over my fingers. I recognized it. Ardenites! There were two guards carrying a huge chest and I could guess what was in it. " I guess it's a good thing we brought this over. The Alpha King is retuning yet another thing his father took." Carrison announced.
The people cheered. I could tell they could already sense the gems. The guards dropped the chest and I opened it- and shut it immediately. The light the gems emitted was blinding.
" They're supercharged." I said, opening the chest slowly.
" Rhydian had them placed under the moon light since you did were first released."
I was silent for a few seconds. " Where's Rhydian?"
" He just left the castle, Deven." Carrison said. " He has many things to attend to."
Or he was just avoiding me? I didn't care either way. It wasn't like I wanted to see him. I sighed and plastered a smile on my face.
" Communicate our gratitude to the Alpha king."
〰️〰️〰️
My door was thrown open, rousing me from my sleep. I sat up when I caught sight of the Dowager Luna ushering in several women, one of whom was Quinn, Rhydian's... shit. I got out of bed, wide-eyed and confused.
" Oh good, you're awake." The Dowager Luna said.
I stared at her, trying hard not to show my annoyance. It was barely dawn. I had no idea why this couldn't wait till it was fully morning, whatever this was.

" What is going on?"
The Dowager Luna pursued her lips. " Is that any way for a future Queen to act. Where are your manner?" She demanded and I sighed and did a curtsey.
" Good morning Your majesty and her majesty's ah... friends."
" This is Lady Yelene and her daughter, Quinn. They own the best dress emporium in Aradia. I've given them the honour of making your wedding dress."
I blinked at her.
" My wedding dress?"
" You heard me the first time and I will not repeat myself. This is your first fitting." The Dowager Luna said. She turned to the women. " You can set up now."
" Wedding?" I whispered to the Queen mother.
She shrugged. " Your wedding to my son must happen before the war fully begins to further strengthen our new found alliance with your people."
Lady Yelene brought the dress out. Good goddess it was beautiful... it also looked heavy. I suspected the numerous Diamonds embroidering the bodice and full skirt were real.
" Well, put it on."
The maids helped me put in the glittering dress with Lady Yelene's supervision while Quinn glared in background. I stood infront of the floor length mirror, refusing to believe this was really me.
" A perfect fit!" The Dowager Luna nodded her approval. " Well, lady Yelene, we have much to discuss. Come along." Quinn tagged along and I was left alone with the maids.
They fussed around me, trying to take the dress of when I heard a click. I turned towards the door and my face paled. The maids beside me stiffened but before they could scream, Lorian had snapped both their necks and they fell lifeless to the ground with loud thumps.
" My lady, is everything alright?" I heard one of my guards ask. She must have heard the maid fall.
Lorian placed a lone finger on my lips. " Shhhh." He whispered.
" Rhydian is in the palace." I informed, my heart slamming against my chest in a frenzy. " He can tell when I'm upset. He'll come soon."
The door was banged on. " My lady?"
" Let him come." He laughed. " You know... I came here today to kill you. I really wanted to aggravate that dog mate of yours but... seeing you now, in this dress... " He trailed off, running his eyes along my body. " I'd wanted to snap you neck and paint my message on these walls with your blood but... I've had a change of heart."
" Deven?" I heard Rhydian's voice and relaxed. He was here. Everything would be fine.
" Ahhh, the dog king arrives." Lorian said, loudly.
There was a pause and then," Stay away from her Lorian, if you hurt her-" Rhydian growled.
" You'll what?" He asked as the door shook some more, it's hinges loosening. " Well, he's upset."
" What is your issue with Carrison?" I asked and Lorian turned sharply, facing me.
" He killed my mate. Before the purge, when the other dog king... " He trailed off and glanced at the trembling door. " It won't hold long. Tell your mate, the barrier will be down tonight. I shall be waiting to fulfill destiny."
As he faded out of view, he added. " I cannot wait to have you."
His words sent disgusted shivers down my spine and I was grateful when a second later, the door crashed down and about seven people rushed in.
" Where is he?" Carrison roared.
Rhydian rushed towards me and then paused as though stunned. He didn't speak. He just stared, making me feel nervous.
The noise his guards made ransacking the room in search of Lorian brought him back and he asked, " Are you alright?" I nodded, unable to meet his eyes for whatever reason.
" He just disappeared?" Carrison queried, clearly frustrated.
" He wasn't really here. Just a strong enough manifestation of his soul, enough to cause physical effects." I gestured at the dead maids. I felt saddened by their death. Their only 'crime' was being in the same room as me. But, I couldn't dwell on that.
" Lorian... he said the barrier would be down by nightfall."
Rhydian nodded, unperturbed. " Prepare the men. We leave for the Eastern barrier in the next hour."
Next hour? My mind went numb. He was really going out to war. Memories of the purge flooded my mind. He was going into something worse than that. I grabbed his shirt and pulled his close, engulfing his lips in mine. He was surprised but that melted away and he deepened the kiss. I pulled away.
" Go." I whispered.
He nodded, kissed my forehead and moved towards the door, then paused. " You know we leave in an hour... we have time..."
I smiled at him and began closing the door.
" Come back ok? I'm not done being mad at you."
He tucked my hair behind my ear. " You look stunning."
It was hard to keep the smile off my face. " I know. Now, go."
