Raven gasps awake, her eyes glowing orange.
"Perfectly timed" Raven looks to see Klaus stood in the corner of her room. "Miss Deveraux is here. You scorched the bedsheets"
Raven walks downstairs, a cigarette between her lips.
"That's an unhealthy habit"
"What's it going to do?" Raven teases. "Kill me?"
Klaus chuckles with a roll of his eyes but his mood instantly changes when his eyes rest upon Sophie.
"We had a deal! You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley and Raven to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches"
"I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley, Raven and I are linked, remember? If Hayley dies, I die. It seems Raven is immune to the death connection of the bond as she is able to come back"
"Then who were they?" Raven asks.
"They are a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had about the baby"
"What kind of vision?" Klaus asks.
"She has them all the time. They are totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one" Sophie says.
"Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Klaus asks.
"Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all witches"
"Ah, well. I grow fonder of this child by the second"
Raven tries to hide the small amused smile which falls upon her face.
"Sophie, look-- I promised Elijah that I would protect the Mikaelson miracle-baby whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?" Rebekah asks.
"Elijah's talking to Davina?" Sophie asks shocked.
"Yeah. As we speak, I imagine"

"I'm guessing she'll have plenty to say about that crowd. Much like Raven does"
Raven freezes as both Mikaelson siblings look at her.
"Do tell"
"I wasn't always an advocate for the witches," Sophie says. "Raven and I were very much on the same page about many of the witches ideologies, we've been friends for many years. My sister was devoted, like our parents, and our upbringing was very strict, which drove me nuts. The minute I turned twenty-one, I left the Quarter to travel and play. But, I wanted to be a chef, so I came back to Rousseau's"
"It was the harvest that caused me to stop visiting New Orleans," Raven says.
"What the bloody hell is a Harvest?" Rebekah asks.
"It's a ritual our coven does every three centuries so that the bond to our ancestral magic is restored. We appease our ancestors, they keep our ancestral power flowing" Sophie says. "Raven was seen as a treasured part of our coven until she left, being the Shapeshifter"
"And why haven't I heard of this?"
"Because a Harvest always seemed like a myth," Raven says. "A story passed on through generations like Noah's ark, or the Buddha walking on water. The kind some people take literally, and some people don't"
"They had the girls of our community preparing for months. Four would be chosen for the Harvest. They said that it was an honour, that they were special. I thought it was a myth. So did Raven"
"Was it?"
"No"
Sophie, having heard Klaus' end of the phone call with Marcel, looks at him in concern about burning dead witches.
"You can't go out there now. I need to gather the witches' remains and consecrate them. If I don't get to them before sundown, we'll lose the link to their magic"
"Those witches tried to kill Raven and Hayley. I'd prefer for Marcel's informant not to find anything that would lead him back to us, to them, or to... you know..."
He points at Hayley's stomach.
"That"
Hayley rolls her eyes.
"You are all class"
"Stay put. And save the rest of your story 'til I return" Klaus says.
Raven stares out at the plantation with a bored look on her face as Sophie talks.

Three Hundred Years After The End Of The World
Three hundred years after the end of the world as humanity knew it, the gears of an old plan slowly begin to move again, as a group of self-imposed reincarnators, along with their equally unlikely companions, gather once again to set things right... but does the world they plan to restore need, or even want, their help? Follow the misadventures of an eclectic bunch of genius misfits as they attempt to assemble and fix the world they accidentally devastated in the past. ~~~ Author's note: This is actually the first volume of a novel I wrote nearly a decade ago for the VNDB discussion boards, taking inspiration from the random off-topic ramblings that characterized the golden age of the community. After sevear years and countless rewrites, it is pretty much unrecognizable, but while it is not fit for professional publishing (due to the fact that several fragments and older versions are still out there on various forums and blogs), I decided it is a waste to just let it sit idly on my hard drive forever. As such, I decided to share it somewhere where people could maybe appreciate it, so here it is.

A Requiem For The End
Yuga wakes up on a cold, frigid land entirely covered in snow. Where was he? Who was he? Neither of these could he remember but he didn't have time to think of it, he could tell danger wasn't far. A quick death if he failed to avoid it. It was fast approaching and much as he tried to escape, it quickly caught up with him. Luckily he had survived, but was he just lucky or was there something more to him.....? A Requiem For The End is a fantasy story set in a world.......well, quite different from most stories you might have seen (I honestly don't know how to better describe it). Early into the story (prologue) the world feels elusive because you slowly learn about it through the eyes of Yuga. As you read on questions may arise in your mind and mysteries will present themselves. The answers to them will come the further you read. I'd like to think the plot is a bit larger than the average and same goes for the world building. If you find this story intriguing then all I can say is - There's a lot for me to tell, hop on?
