"What are you doing?" Raven asks Hayley as she stands with her ear pressed against the door.
Hayley just shushes her and Raven rolls her eyes.
"Are you out of your mind? No way" Sophie says.
"It's very simple-- We need you to perform a teeny, tiny locator spell to help us find our brother," Rebekah says.
"Witches who practice magic in this town get caught, and then they get killed" Sophie argues.
"Yes, about that. It seems you left out a crucial detail when we made our deal--Marcel's secret weapon, the way he knows when a witch is using magic-"
"Girl about yea high, cute as a button, anger issues?" Rebekah says.
"Davina? Where have you seen her?"
"Like your cousin?" Hayley whispers and Raven shrugs.
"I mean it's not the most common name" Raven replies.
"I don't know. The little brat erased my memory right after she threw me out a window with her bloody mind" Rebekah says.
"Let me cut to the chase. Davina has Elijah. You witches, I assume, want to get Davina away from Marcel. We don't know where she is. Ergo, we need magic"
"Davina would sense it," Sophie says.
"Unless, of course, another witch-- say, a traitor to the cause, Katie for example-- was to perform much more powerful magic at the same time. That would create a smokescreen, concealing your very small spell from Davina"
"Katie doesn't deserve to die," Sophie says.
"Eh debatable" Maya whispers.
"Sophie Deveraux!" Klaus snaps. "You're in no position to be so principled. You can't win a war without a few strategic losses, no matter how regrettable they may be. How many times have the vampires been one step ahead, known something they shouldn't? Your sister, executed in the public square for practising magic-- who knew she'd be caught? Did she even attempt to flee?"

"She was caught hiding in a cargo hold of a freighter before it set sail down the Mississippi," Sophie says.
"And who, pray tell-- of Marcel's valued inner circle-- manages his business at the docks?" Klaus asks.
"Katie's boyfriend, Thierry"
"This is like a TV drama," Raven says. "Next we're going to find out Sophie was fucking Marcel or something"
"RAVEN!"
Raven pushes open the office door as Sophie leaves.
"What's your dress size?"
"Why?"
"Because you're coming with us to that blasted party," Rebekah says. "If I have to endure the bartender's presence. So do you"
"Marvelous" Raven says. "I'll text you my dress size. I need a nap"
"You sleep too much," Rebekah says and Raven shrugs.
Raven flops onto her bed and closes her eyes, feeling herself losing her grip on consciousness and slipping into the unconscious world.
Raven is stood watching her fourteen-year-old self argue with her father as she stood protectively in front of a crying, cowering Stiles.
Klaus is disturbed from his reading as he hears noises from upstairs.
"She did everything in this house!"
"She was never fucking here!" Raven shouts. "She was always in the hospital. I did everything in this house and I've done more since she died. I've been looking after you, I'm in ninth grade. Ninth grade and I'm looking after you!"
A loud thud sounds from upstairs. Klaus blurs up the stairs and finds Raven thrashing in her bed, her eyes tightly shut.
"It'll pass," Hayley says from behind Klaus.
"These happen often?"
"Beacon Hills was a mess," Hayley says. "And Raven was in the middle of it every time. She was nearly ritually sacrificed once. Then her brother was possessed and then she was on a Deadpool and then there were some supernatural doctors and then her brother vanished and then there were hunters trying to kill them all again"

"I thought Mystic Falls was bad," Klaus says. "Their resident hunter was a raging alcoholic"
"These hunters were the real deal, I'm talking rare Wolfsbane. Machine guns, bombs, traps" Hayley says. "Alaric Saltzman was nowhere near their level"
Raven shoots up, gasping and panting only to see Klaus and Hayley stood in the doorway.
"How are you doing on this fine afternoon?" Raven asks and Hayley rolls her eyes. "I need a smoke"
Raven grabs her cigarettes and opens her window, clambering up onto the window seat before lighting her cigarette.
"Stiles has been calling you," Hayley says.
"Throw me the phone"
Hayley throws the phone over Raven's head and it soars out the open window.
"Well that was another way to solve the problem," Raven says, looking at the smashed pieces of the phone on the ground. "Fucks sake Hayley"

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
