Rebekah, Raven and Klaus are talking in the foyer. Rebekah pouts as they talk.
"I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire!"
"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot? Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child!"
"Oh, I am so moved by your new-found sense of fatherly duties towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid bun in her oven"
Raven snickers before noticing Hayley had joined them in the foyer.
"The werewolf would like to know what the plan is," Hayley says.
"Well, that depends what plan you mean, love-- my plan for global domination, or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world?"
Rebekah takes a pencil from the desk beside her and throws it in Klaus' direction. Klaus catches it easily before it can embed itself in his face but he winces and drops the pencil as it catches fire and he glares at a smirking Raven.
"The plan to rescue Elijah. You know, the good brother? The one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back?"
"In the front, if we're being specific."
"You two said that you would get him back. So is there a plan, or what?"
"Okay," Klaus says. "Well, firstly, Marcel is not my mortal enemy-- he's my friend. Albeit one who is unaware that I'm trying to sabotage his hold over the supernatural community of the French Quarter, but a friend nonetheless. And secondly, I daggered Elijah in order to gain Marcel's trust. If I had known he would place my brother in the hands of a particularly nasty teenage witch, I certainly would have weighed my options a bit differently. And thirdly- Sister, please"

"And thirdly, the plan, as you have demanded, is for Niklaus to simply ask Marcel for Elijah back"
"That's- that's not the whole plan, is it?"
"That's a terrible plan," Raven says. "I thought you were good at plotting and you come up with asking for him back?"
"Please! Klaus may be a miserable excuse for a sibling, but there is none more diabolical" Rebekah says.
"And that's only the Plan A, love! There's always a Plan B" Klaus says.
"And what's Plan B?" Raven asks.
Klaus smiles diabolically.
"War"
"Wonderful" Raven sighs. "I need a few more hours sleep before I'm prepared for war. Or some coffee and a smoke"
Raven stands on the porch, trying to light the lighter but it was refusing to light.
"Stupid, fucking piece of shit lighter-"
"That child is going to have a vulgar mouth with you around," Rebekah says and Raven hums.
"I think murderous tendencies from the father and aunt would be slightly more frowned upon," Raven says and Rebekah laughs.
"I guess so"
Rebekah sits on the bench next to Raven.
"Have you ever been in love?" Rebekah asks.
"I thought I was," Raven says. "Turns out the sex was just good"
"You've never been in love?"
"Nope," Raven says with a shrug, blowing the smoke out of her mouth. "After my mom died, I was such a bitch to everyone that they just steered clear"
"How did she die?"
"Frontotemporal dementia. Shrinking of the brain" Raven says, sitting down next to Rebekah. "Turned her crazy towards the end, my brother was with her when she died"
"Is he scarred by that?" Rebekah asks. "Being there?"
"I think so," Raven says. "But we have a family trait of hiding feelings through sarcasm and wit"

Raven takes a deep drag from her cigarette as Rebekah speaks up again.
"What was she like?" Rebekah asks. "Towards the end?"
"I couldn't keep up with her" Raven says, taking another drag. "Some days I'd visit and she would have helped in the kitchen cooking and she'd have baked cakes, then others she was strapped to the bed because she had tried to throw herself from the roof. She was paranoid on those days, claiming Stiles and I were trying to kill her. That we were poisoning her"
Raven grabs her phone and shows Rebekah the strip of photos from a booth in the clear case. Rebekah looks at the happy family in the picture and smiles.
"You look like her," Rebekah says.
"My dad says the same" Raven says. "He handled her death the worst. Stiles and I had accepted it. Melissa, Stiles' best friends mom, had sat us down and explained to us that she wasn't getting better and it was only going to end one way. I was fourteen"
"How old are you?"
"I'm frozen at twenty but I'm actually twenty-four. There's a six-year gap between Stiles and I"
"How did you die?"
"I was attacked," Raven says.
Raven takes a final drag before throwing the cigarette on the ground and putting it out with her foot.
When Raven stands up and stretches, Rebekah notices three large scars on her stomach but decides today wasn't the day to question her.

The American Dream: An Alternate, Time-Travel Timeline
Due to a mysterious transcendent being, United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Samuel Kim from the year 2016 is thrown back in time to the year 1775. To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Realizing the unique situation he finds himself in, the lieutenant takes the opportunity to change the fate of the battle and ensure an overwhelming American victory. Guided by his "patronizing" "God" and the American revolutionaries, Lieutenant Kim embarks on a journey to help America gain its independence and to ensure the nation uphold its "most promising" ideals from the very beginning. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.
