The girls walk down a spiral staircase and Raven holds out her hand which begins to glow orange, providing them with light.
"The governor had lots of secret rooms. I'll show you his favourite" Rebekah says.
They arrive in a dusty, cobwebbed cellar room. Hayley and Raven spy the ornate coffins, filling them with morbid curiosity.
"You think Klaus killed him," Hayley says.
"We can't be killed, silly girl. That doesn't stop Klaus from finding ways to torture us. He has a set of mystical silver daggers. One in the heart sends us into a deep slumber. Klaus gets his jollies from keeping us in a box until he decides to pull the dagger out. That must be what he's done to Elijah. This one's mine"
"He keeps your coffin on standby?" Raven asks. "That is twisted"
"He likes to be prepared for when his family members inevitably disappoint him. Elijah's isn't here - he must've stashed him elsewhere"
"I feel sick"
"I've seen worse"
"Welcome to the family, love. You should've run the second you realized Elijah was gone" Rebekah looks weirdly at Raven, wondering what kind of town she had lived in to have seen worse.
"Yeah, well, the witches have put some sort of hex on me. As long as I'm carrying this baby, I can't leave New Orleans. If I do, they kill me along with Raven"
"But I come back" Raven gives Rebekah jazz hands.
"Well, knowing Klaus, he's planning a box for you the second you give birth to whatever's cooking in your tum. I'm leaving as soon as I find Elijah. Being daggered in a box for decades sucks, trust me. You'd best find a way to break that hex and run. Both of you"
Rebekah goes off to continue her search, leaving Hayley to consider what she's said.

"Do you think he would?" Hayley asks Raven.
"I don't know the guy," Raven says. "But I'm sure that if he has no qualms locking his siblings away in coffins, you being his baby mama isn't going to have too much effect on his decisions"
Rebekah leaves which leaves Raven to explore the rest of the house as Hayley stays in the creepy coffin room.
Raven pushes open a door to reveal a room full of paintings. Beautiful paintings, clearly done by a talented artist. There was a more recent painting, clearly having been worked on today. It was of a female silhouette engulfed in flames.
"RAVEN?"
Hayley's shout makes Raven jump and she doesn't notice the bracelet slipping from her wrist.
Raven walks out of the art room to see Hayley stood in the foyer with her arms folded over her chest.
"I have a plan to get us out of this mess"
Hayley and Raven walk up to a shopfront right when the shopkeeper appears to be leaving.
"Hey, hey!" Hayley calls.
"We're closed, sorry"
"She just needs one teeny, tiny little herb. Please?"
"Which herb?"
"Crushed aconite flower," Hayley says.
"Wolfsbane? That's poison. You're gonna kill a wolf?"
"Just a little one"
Katie nods in understanding.
"Give me a minute"
Katie goes back into the shop. After a few seconds, she comes back, holding a phial in her hand.
"Cut it with jimson weed. A few drops in some hot tea - that should do it"
Hayley hands her some money.
"Here"
Katie refuses it.
"It's an ugly town for wolves. You're doing the right thing"
Hayley and Raven walk away.
"You sure you want to do this?" Raven asks, lighting a cigarette.
"I have to do this" Hayley says before cracking a grin. "Besides my baby would have smokers lungs before they turn one with you around"

"Fuck off" Raven sticks her middle finger at her friend.
Hayley sits on a bench, dripping the poison into a cup as Raven stands next to the bench smoking.
"Come on, Hayley. One upset stomach and all this stupid drama is ancient history" Hayley tries to psych herself up.
She lifts the cup toward her face, closes her eyes, then opens them and lowers the cup again without drinking it. She sighs, then hears a branch snap nearby. She stands up, looking around, then turns to find a vampire right in front of her and Raven pushes her behind her defensively.
"Dumb move, coming into the Quarter. You're coming with me, wolf"
"I have had it up to here with vampires telling me what to do" Hayley says.
She throws the cup's contents into his face, and he roars in pain. She spins around, only to be faced with three more vampires. Raven takes a drag of the cigarette before her eyes glow orange and she rips the heart out of his chest, engulfing one of the vampires in fire but the other sneaks up on Raven causing Hayley to shout in warning.
"RAVEN!"
Suddenly Rebekah shows up, snaps the neck of one vampire and rips the heart out of the back of the other.
"Now, that is no way to treat a pregnant lady. I do hate bad manners" Rebekah turns to Raven. "Nicely done"
She throws the heart on the ground. Hayley gapes at the two women, still in shock.

Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
