《Jump-Verse: Prelude》Chapter 2

Okimi stared at the Umbras cube for a while. He got really lucky on this one. A couple hours ago he snuck into a scrapyard to find more peaces of metal when his eye caught something glowing in the corner. When he went to inspect, the cube was there. He still wasn't entirely sure what its purpose was, but it may help take him to where he wanted. Okimi placed the cube in a slot that would hopefully direct power to the portal. It worked, and the machine hummed louder.
white, thin tendrils of energy came swirling from the inside rim of the portal, swirling to the center. Oh my God, Okimi thought. It's actually working?! They kept swirling in the middle, getting bigger and bigger, until the portal was complete. Okimi typed some more commands into the computer, and said only one word before pushing enter: "Namek."
*Click*
The swirling increased speed dramatically, and he could see an image gradually starting to appear in the portal. The green sky, grass and trees; this was Namek all right.
"...Oh my God. Oh God. No way. NO FREAKING WAY!!"
Okimi danced around wildly in celebration, staring at the planet in awe. But then noticed something off. He stopped dancing and stared at the image again. He saw it. Fire. He could hear screaming from the other side. "What the...?"
Suddenly a blast of concentrated energy tore open the ground in Namek, tossing many Namekians around. The silhouette of a man was visible in the smoke. What was happening. Okimi suddenly felt a sense of dread, and immediately typed in another location to get away from the hellish scene. The silhouette seemed to notice the portal just as it closed.
It immediately opened again, this time revealing the Hidden Leaf Village. Okimi started to smile again at being successful, but the smile left his face and fear replaced it as he realized that the village was on fire. Once again he heard screams. "Hold the line! Don't let that monster get-AAARRGH!"
A man suddenly went flying and landed in front of the portal window. A woman dressed in a black long dress with a slit on the side walked towards him to finish him off, but noticed the window as well. "Oh my," she cooed, licking her lips. "It seems I have a spectator."

Okimi rushed to the computer and spammed the off button, repeatedly screaming "turnoffturnoffturnoffturnoffturnoff DAMMIT!" Finally the portal slowly started closing but just when he thought he was safe, a hand reached through the hole. "Oh no," Okimi whispered. Now there was only one thing going through his mind: I just wanted to see them again. It ran in his mind over and over as his head swirled around, trying to find a good hiding spot, in vain.
Soon the entire arm had made its way through. The machine warbled and screamed at the resistance it was receiving. The arm suddenly extended its fingers. Okimi saw the Umbras Cube rattling, and it suddenly rocketed out of its slot and into the palm of the arm. The cube started glowing brighter, and the portal suddenly fully opened again.
A man stood at the entrance with the woman, wearing a black cape over his technological black chest plate. underneath. He had what looked like a very advanced gold colored battle helmet on, that covered his entire head, with a slit in the middle of the mask. A third man standing behind them watched, looking bored. His hands were in the pockets of his baggy pants, with short spiky hair that leaned back, and had a short sleeved gi top with metal bands on his wrists. he looked about 5 feet tall, like the woman, but the man in armor was almost 7 feet. They had pale, grey skin, and their eyes were black with white pupils.
"Ah," the man in armor started to speak to Okimi. "Thank you for the umbras cube. My counterparts and I have been searching for this and had to check all the Jump Worlds to no avail. You seem to match the description Riku said when he saw you on Namek."
Riku, the man with baggy pants, stared at Okimi with cold steel eyes. He then smirked and said in a nonchalant tone, "you screwed up big time, nerd." He sounded just like a typical bully.
"WAIT!"
The three turned around to find where the noise came from. Okimi felt like the voice was familiar. Could it be...?
"We're not finished yet!" another voice cried.
"Believe it!" The first voice shouted.
"Hmph. Sadia, if you could deal with these nuisances, please."
The woman acknowledged the man in armor's request and suddenly sharp, long tendrils of energy sprouted from her wrists. She cackled maniacally and flew towards the interlopers.

"Hey, Crayle," Riku said. "Want me to deal with the runt?"
The man in armor nodded. "Please do. I will start the merge initiation."
Riku smirked. Suddenly, he was in front of Okimi in the blink of an eye. "Thanks for dooming the Jump-Verse for us." Suddenly, Okimi lurched forward in pain. He slowly looked down and saw blood. Blood and a fist. Riku had punched through his chest. he kneeled down and fell over, and started blacking out. He just wished he could see his family-and his heroes-one more time.
Riku knelt beside the gravely injured boy, with a satisfied look on his face. Oh god. What have I done. I've just put everyone in danger... Okimi started losing feeling in his body. "If it makes you feel any better," Riku started, "We would have found a way through here anyway. But now you have to live with the fact that you just brought your doom here quicker. Oh wait! Even better! You actually won't have to live with that after all!"
Okimi grunted in pain, trying to get some words out. "What's going to happen? What are you going to do to us?"
"It is none of your concern," Crayle responded. "I am not some simple minded villain that gives away his plan just for it to fail before he can achieve it."
He opened the palm of his other arm, and another umbras cube, appeared, but it was black. He brought them close together, and suddenly the black cube lurched at the white one, slowly fusing with it. Just then a stray blast of energy flew out of the portal, revealing that Sadia was on the receiving end of it. She licked her lips and laughed evily once more before rushing back into the battle.
"Riku, go help her," Crayle commanded.
"Tch... Why do I gotta help that crazy witch?" Riku grumbled, but complied, and he was into the portal faster than Okimi's eyes could perceive. Meanwhile, he had started losing feeling in his stomach and his eyelids were getting heavier. His ears were muffled. I'm going to die... but not without a fight!
Okimi slowly reached in his pockets, searching for his last hope. When he felt it, he went slowly once more while pulling it out, hoping not to attract attention. In his hand was a small rod with a red button on top, his self-destruct button. It was meant to be a last resort in case the portal ended up malfunctioning. He was just about to push it when Riku appeared once more!
"Nice try." He crushed the rod and stared at Okimi. "Jeez. It's taking way to long for you to die. I'll just finish this now, I guess..."
He raised his hand to Okimi's face and started charging up and attack...

Meanwhile, in the Hidden Leaf Village...
"Dodge it!"
WHAM!
THUD!
"Okay, hit 'er in the rear!"
"Got it!"
"Hiyaaaaaah!"
SWISH!
"Nope!"
"Rrrrgh! Just how strong is this lady?!"
"N-Naruto, look!"
Naruto looked at the pointed direction, and saw a bloody and weak kid on the floor. He couldn't have been older than Naruto himself. Riku was positioned in a way to finish him off.
"Crap! Midoriya, get him! I'll hold the crazy woman off!"
"O-on it!"
"Say your prayers..." Riku said in a bored tone. Suddenly, a boy with green hair jumped in front of him and grabbed Okimi's arm. He jumped out of the way and back into the portal as fast as he could. "Nice, Midoriya!" Naruto shouted. Deku placed Okimi onto the ground. "He's hurt bad... we need medical attention immediately!" A couple of ninja appeared and hauled him up, leaping away again.
Okimi was then placed into a stretcher in front of a medical building, lined up with many others. He couldn't believe what he had saw. Though it was mostly a blur, he knew for a fact that he was just saved by Izuku Midoriya. Despite how badly wounded he was, he just kept thinking about his successful trial, although it came with fatal setbacks. He closed his eyes and chuckled grimly, ready to accept his fate, feeling accomplished that he was able to do something.

Deku barely dodged a slash from Sadia's black energy whip, and it made a scary crackling sound as it hit the ground. He landed next to Naruto, fists raised. "She's really quick, Mr. Uzumaki. Make sure you be careful. She's tough"
Naruto cracked his knuckles, ready to fight again. "Don't worry, Midoriya. She won't think she's tough anymore once she sees me in real action."

Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5.
