Darting through the woods with a loud hiss following him, Miles looked all over with a hesitant step.

From the corner of his eye, he spotted a dark shadow approaching him, bright red eyes watching him. He continued to run, running away from his doom.

A weight fell on his shoulders resulting in him toppling to the floor, a cold hand wrapped around his neck tightly. "You have sinned us, little boy, you need a good punishment. "

Miles cried out, his nightmare was continuing.

"Miles!" A familiar voice called out, Phoenix rushed towards him, pushing the man off of Miles, the young boy gasped for air. "We need to ru--"

A long jagged knife stabbed through Phoenix, a defeated look on his face.

"Phoenix!!"

Miles woke up with a jerk followed by a loud gasp, his eyes darting back and forth. Searching for something.

"Phoenix. " He whimpered out in fear, Ezlyn lifted her head. Her eyes glowed in the moonlight, she purred softly in an attempt to relax Miles.

He pushed his comforter off himself and climbed out of bed, he walked to the back door of the house and walked outside.

He looked up at the sky seeing the full moon, a deep sigh escaped from him.

"Just a stupid nightmare. Nobody is chasing me. "Miles mumbled out, a small voice echoed in his head, somebody he didn't expect to hear from. His wolf.

He shivered as he noticed the cold outside, it didn't bother him so much as he had expected.

Miles closed his eyes thinking of something, his body suddenly hunched over, bones popping loudly. Fur appeared covering his body, clothes tearing loudly in the dark. He growled in pain from his discomfort as his body shifted from human to werewolf. The pain stopped and felt a familiar presence over him. Dox, his werewolf.

Over the years of Miles being held captive by vampires, they injected wolfsbane into his system, losing his werewolf abilities.

Miles stood in his werewolf form and stretched his grey coat with white patches, he looked around and started to walk around.

Phoenix sat in the sun enjoying as he watched the twins swimming in the ocean near their hotel, Luka splashed his brother chuckling loudly.

The phone started to ring, Phoenix glanced at the caller ID and answered it. "Hey, Azure. How's the meeting going along?"

"Not the best to be honest Bird, the recent rogue attacks have been increasing over the few days. Melanie has been snappy too, stress is getting to her. "Azure sights from his side of the phone.

"I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully, everything will be sorted before we get back. "Phoenix got up and walked to the beach, just a bit away from the twins.

"Hope Luka is behaving himself there."

He chuckled softly. "You could say that it's so beautiful here, always sunny and the people here are friendly. "

"Glad you're enjoying it. "Azure sighed softly and shuffling was heard.

"Hey Blue, don't stress too much. I know being an Alpha for a large pack is stressful already. Don't overwork yourself. "Phoenix glanced at the ocean, seeing Luka floating around. But no sign of Zander. "Zander?"

"What about him?"

"I just saw him swimming but don't see him." Phoenix started to panic, looking around seeing the werewolf drinking some soda. "Oh okay. Nevermind. "

"Very clingy of Zan I see. "Azure chuckled.

"Yeah yeah. I'm just worried about him Blue, I love them both but they can be reckless at the time. "Phoenix brushed his hair back, Zander walked towards him and took the phone from Phoenix.

"Hey, Azure. "Zander kissed his mate's cheek and glanced at Luka.

"Hey, how you feeling over there?" Azure rubbed his forehead tiredly and heard Melanie call him. "Hold on."

On the other side of the phone, Melanie smiled up at Azure. "Miles shifted!"

"He shifted to his wolf form?" Azure smiled slightly and chuckled. "Hey Zander, tell Phoenix that Miles was able to shift for the first time last night. "

Phoenix smiled proudly. "That's my boy!"

Miles sat on the hospital bed in the pack hospital, he looked around with a frown.

Cameron walked in with a clipboard. "I've noticed that you've grown taller the last time I saw you. "

Miles nodded slightly. "I feel better like I don't feel burdened by wolfsbane. "

Cameron frown as he overlooked the results. "There's no sign of wolfsbane in your system, but you should take it slow. Werewolves usually shift when they're 9 but due to the poison that was in your system, it pushed your wolf abilities back. "Cameron glanced at Miles and checked his eyes. "Take it slow, don't shift too much, and keep your wolf busy talking alright? What's their name?"

"His name is Dox. He's a nice wolf. "Miles smiled brightly talking about his wolf form.

"Dox, cute name. "Cameron wrote on the clipboard and sighed.

"What's yours?" Miles asked quietly, this froze him up.

"I uh rather not say. I have not spoken to them for a long time. "The taller male walked away checking something in the room.

"Why not? You've been around longer than I have, you were rescued by Azure. You've been here for years, and you should be able to talk to your wolf. "Miles hopped off the bed and walked towards Cameron.

"Miles, please. I don't want to talk about this. "

"Why not?!"

"Because I said so! I lost my wolf after surgery!" Cameron snapped and covered his mouth immediately.

"Surgery? Cameron, what surgery?" Miles furrowed his brows, now curious.

"I was born into the wrong body... I was neglected by my parents and thrown out of my pack... I became a rogue and kidnapped by rogues... They abused me for being different and I escaped one day. "Cameron's breath hitched for a second. "A-and I stumbled onto Alpha Azure's territory, he helped me. Helped me get better and helped me transition to now... I felt useless for years after my wolf disappeared. My wolf left without saying anything..." Tears streamed down his face.

"Then I met Noah... He was kind to me, helping me recover from my loss... I've only been in the pack for a few years but--"

The door opened and rushed in Noah, he sensed his mate's distress and came after him. "Cam... I'm here. Just breathe. "

Cameron started to sob in his mate's arms, Noah glared towards Miles. "Leave Miles. "

Miles left immediately, feeling a heavy burden placed on his shoulders.

"I'm not a small boy anymore Cameron, I'll protect you no matter what. I'm a big boy now. "
