《Star crossed》Chapter 38: Vixen

Amelia pushed Antony off the bed and would also have pushed him out through the window had he not escaped.
"Why are you trying to kill me?" Antony hissed as he clung to the branch for dear life.
"If you are just going to keep spouting nonsense, leave. You are giving me a headache."
"Amelia, please."
"Leave now, or I am calling the guards."
"You wouldn't," Antony said in bravado.
"Guards! Guards!" she screamed.
Antony immediately hid in the dense branch of the tree.
"What is it, My Lady?" Antony heard the guards calling from outside her door.
"I think I saw someone creeping down the hall," she said in a panicked voice.
"Lady, please lock the door and stay inside. We will scour the premises, the rat will not escape."
Amelia closed the door, turning to see Antony standing in her room.
"I advise you to make haste, or you won't go unseen," Amelia said, eyeing Antony who was inching closer.
"You little vixen! What did you do that for?"
Amelia ignored him and went to bed, Antony followed suit.
"What are you doing?" hissed Amelia.
"What else! I am going to sleep."
"Leave now!"
"Whose fault is it that I cannot leave? I don't fancy being shot now that all the guards are on high alert."
"If you leave now, I will come back with you," Amelia said playfully. She didn't expect Antony to spring into action in a split second. When she got up he already left.
"Someone's over there!" a guard shouted.
Amelia's heart was in overdrive. "Fool! Why does he do such stupid things," she cursed him under her breath and rushed down the halls.
"My Lady, it might be dangerous," a guard tried to stop her, but she pushed him away and ran where the sound of the guard came from, Mercifully, they hadn't caught Antony. Her legs gave out as relief surged through her, she staggered and fell.

"Amelia!" Antony caught her before she fell.
Some guards made surprised sounds while others drew their swords swiftly.
"Stand down! Are you planning to hurt my husband, I said stand down!" Amelia screamed.
"Can you stand?" Antony asked, she shook her head as he gently lifted and carried her in.
"What is happening? Why are you causing mayhem!?" Lord Nicholas entered with a cross face.
Amelia was completely drained, she didn't have the energy to watch another drama unfold.
"Antony, leave now and come back tomorrow."
"Amelia-"
"I said leave, you have done enough for today." She said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Dad, help me."
Nicholas helped her to bed, she knew her father wanted to ask her what happened.
"Please let's talk tomorrow," she implored. Lord Nicholas left her, closing the door behind.
She has had enough of Antony, marriage, and love. Was it that easy for him to throw himself into danger without a single thought of her?
"I told you to leave," she whispered. She sensed his presence in the room before she saw him.
"How can I leave, when you are like this?" Antony said and emerged from behind the curtains. He came closer and sat next to her on the bed.
"I gave you all I can today, I can't take you again. My body is aching. You should find some other woman if you want anymore."
Amelia gasped as Antony punched the headboard angrily.
"Is that what you think of me? That I am here for-" He stood up and punched the wall angrily. Amelia had never seen him this angry. "Do you really think- I would have laid even my finger on you without-" he punched angrily again.
Now Amelia was furious, "What else is there Antony? You don't love me but you say you need me! I have nothing to offer. You don't give a damn whether I fell into water or not. Today, you didn't give a damn about what it will do to me if you get hurt. Do you know how scared I was? How could you take off like that? Do you have a death wish?" she got up angrily and punched him.

"I didn't leave, I just hid under the bed. I was surprised when you rushed out in a hurry!"
"What!?"
"And, you called the guards on me first, if I may add."
"So, you decided to scare me?"
"I didn't expect you to react as such-"
"You are a pea-brain who would rush into danger without thinking, what else do you expect?"
"I am sorry that I scared you, I am sorry for everything. Amelia, when I said I need you I didn't mean- how could you even think so low of me?"
"You are a caveman, look at my neck and chest."
"Only you Amelia, only you do that to me. You bring out the worst in me. I promise you I won't lay even a finger on you from now on."
"Do whatever you want, what else can I expect from a selfish man like you"
AN: Thanks for all your wishes, there will be double update tomorrow too.

8 188The Five Series - redemption
Book 1 - Redemption Three generations have passed since the last near-apocalyptic war. Civilization is beginning to thrive again at an ever increasing pace. The burden of society has been once again placed on the back of a massive robotic workforce, creating a huge divide between industrial glory, and those forced to live in its shadow. Many have stubbornly held onto the old ways of self-governance from back when the government fell, but with its return, life in Welan City is changing. Aaron, a middle-aged man, who is stuck in the rut of daily life, witnesses a murder and finds himself in trouble, love, and the middle of a highly secretive robotics project. Aaron stakes his life on helping a prototype survive, and pays for it dearly. Passionate hate, love, and indifference send life in Welan City spiraling out of control, leaving no one innocent in the end. The Five Series is, well, a series. I've completed 3 of the books so far and will finish with a fourth, maybe fifth book. Book 1 is heavy on the character development side while the following will be much more decision and consequence oriented. This story reaches into the soul of a person and the universe we live in. Some people deserve a second chance, and some do not. With that im mind, no one really ever gets what they deserve though, do they? Always tell the people you care about that you love them as often as you can, they could be gone tomorrow. Would that change if you could always bring them back? I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. Cody
8 176Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
