《Tempest's Embrace》Chapter 58

He slowly made his way down a sandy path that lead towards the pristine beach ahead of him.
He had been up for some time. Unable to sleep, he woke up early to enjoy the short span of time between dark and light, when the day was slowly awakening until the rays of the sun, high in the sky danced along the sparkling sea.
Today would mark the day that he first met her. He would never forget it. It was the day that changed everything. She changed everything.
The moment Sophie had lead them to where the midwife lived, he finally felt the dark clouds above him give way to brighter skies. He had his son back.
So much had happened since then. From finding out the truth about her mother to finding their son, to accepting his punishment for prior offenses.
"But why must they take you? You have done nothing wrong, " she clung to him as uniformed guards, flanked his sides.
He tilted her chin up to look at him. Her aquamarine eyes filled with tears, searched his for answers.
"It won't be for long, I promise we will be together soon, " he whispered, gently brushing away her tears.
He looked over to their son in her arms. "Take care of him, " he begged.
Unable to respond, she gave a quick nod before he roughly pulled her close and claimed her lips passionately for them all to see that.....She was his.
He stepped away and waited for the guards to take him. But her father approached him.
"For as much as I would like to see you swing from the gallows, sadly that will not be your fate, Black Scourge," the Admiral grumbled.
Justin stood to his full height facing him with Tempest and their son still in his arms.
"Regardless of what he has done in the past, he had a reason. And... he saved your daughter," Her grandfather spoke up.
They turned to face him.
"I will take my punishment whatever it is, " Justin looked away from the Coronels knowing smirk then turned and stood firm to face the Admiral with a determined gaze.
"Papa, please...don't do this, " Tempest tearfully begged him.

Justin's chest caved with her sobs as the guards lead him out of her home.
As promised, his full weight of punishment was minor. Newgate was nothing but a blur for his 6-month stay then he was released with a full pardon and free of all charges as were his men.
He soon after relinquished his old life at sea, sold his ships and settled with his wife and son in Jamaica.
His wife. The moment he held her in his arms, it was his first priority to marry her. He was in awe and grateful that her father with the help of the magistrate, annulled her marriage to Haines who no dought was somewhere rotting in Newgate's cells.
Lucinda, unfortunately, could not handle her punishment. The squalid, overcrowded, unsanitary conditions of the place were too much for her. Therefore, she took her life days after being placed in Coldbath Fields prison.
He slowly trudged along the sand in deep thought until the giggle and laughter of a small child in the distance made him lookup.
Justin grinned admiring the view of his son, Braxton, running from Tempest's friend, Millicent, as she chased him in circles playfully.
Then his gaze fell on Tempest as she slowly followed them, deep in her own thoughts. He felt his heart race with the sight of her getting closer. He noticed how her skin that was once fair and pale, had taken on the golden hue it once had when they first met and her tumbling hair had become longer and shinier even more glorious under the tropical sun.
The result of their lovemaking was evident he smiled to himself. The night he had docked in Jamaica when he returned, was one of joy and tears. He could not contain himself after so long of being without her. With her father's permission, they immediately found a vicar and married. All of his men with smiles upon their faces watched their Captain and his Siren wed.
That night, their lovemaking had been long and impassioned lasting into the wee hours of the morning. They lay content in each others arms promising to never leave each other.
As she got nearer, he observed her lovingly taking in her figure, clearly outlined beneath the knee-length, light muslin dress she wore. It had matured in the months since he had love to her that night; her lovely breasts had grown fuller, her waist wider with the growth of their 2nd child.

They had finally made their way towards one another. Cerulean blue eyes met those of gorgeous aquamarine, filled with love and desire.
He pulled her close into his arms and brushed his lips softly along her brow.
He pulled back and looked down at her. His blue eyes suddenly warm as they rested on her.
"How are you feeling?"
She looked up at him with a beautiful smile that jolted his heart.
"Happy, " she said slowly looking down at her stomach and gently rubbing it.
"We're both happy, " she smiled up at him lovingly, going up on her toes to touch her mouth to his. Justin's arms tightened gently around her, his mouth parting sweetly over hers.
They were so lost in their growing lustful haze until a handful of cool water splashed on them. With a jolt, she pulled away with a squeal leaving Justin to shake abruptly out of his passionate reverie.
The subject of their assault stood giggling a foot away from them, his blue eyes alight with laughter and dark curling hair like his mother. His hands were cupped, and even as he stared up at Justin, he sprinkled more water on his foot.
"Come here, I'll teach you to throw water on me, " he growled loudly springing into a chase after his son.
Braxton eluded him easily, as light and quick on his feet as a young sparrow, his giggles floating behind him as he sprinted for the safety of Millicent's skirts.
Later that evening after eating supper and falling asleep; listening to his grandfather's tales of the sea, Braxton was carried off to bed.
Together, Tempest and Justin watched him sleep. He could feel her leaning into him with a bit of exhaustion she no doubt would stubbornly never admit to.
He smiled a little, pressing his face into her hair, savoring its softness and sweet smell.
"Come let us go to bed, " he whispered. Slowly he pulled her along out of Braxton's room and gently shut his bedroom.
"But... I'm not tired, " she sighed.
"You will be, " he breathed, swinging her up in his arms to hold her cradled against his chest, his eyes burning hotly as they met hers.
"You rogue, " she giggled softly melting into him.
"Aye that I am, but I'm your rogue," He murmured pressing feathered kisses along her jaw.
"And right now all this rogue is thinking of is how much he wants to make love to his wife," he said against her ear.
She gasped with a soft moan and melted more into him.
He continued to press kisses over the silken flesh of her throat slowly making his way with her to their bedroom where he gently lay her on their bed. Tempest held him to her, as they tenderly made love.
When he finally pulled back to look down at her, she was trembling, her cheeks rosy and her eyes languorous with desire.
" I love you, " she said running her hands caressingly across his cheek.
Her words were worth more than any of the riches he stole from ships at sea. He knew from the moment he set his eyes on her, his life would change. And it did.
Nothing could ever go wrong between them ever again.
He kissed her and looked down at her.
"And I love you." He grinned at Tempest between more kisses, finally content.
All of his life he thought he was rich and free with his treasures on the turbulent waters of the sea.
He was wrong.
So very wrong.
Because his greatest treasure of all was the one right there in his arms.
