Rachel's POV

I woke up to the best sleep of my life and I looked up and saw Karen sleeping. She looked like an angel and I played with a lock of her hair. Her black hair was gorgeous and I loved it. She stirred and pulled me closer to her. I giggled softly and pulled away. I walked out of her room and Michael, Colton, Taylor and Austin were all downstairs and they saw me walk to my room.

"Rachel? Where are you going?" Austin asked.

"My room." I replied.

"Were you in my sister's room?"

"Whaaaat? No. What makes you think that?"

"Well, you came from the direction of my sister's room."

Karen walked out of her room and hugged me.

"Where'd you go?" She asked mumbling.

"Karen?" Austin asked.

Karen turned her head towards Austin and smiled. "Hey little bro."

He rolled his eyes and said, "Thirty minutes."

"Doesn't matter." She replied. She looked at me and smiled. "Hi baby."

I blushed and Austin said, "What the hell is going on?"

I pulled away and walked downstairs to give Austin a hug.

"Better?" I asked.

"Much." He smiled and kissed the top of my head.

"If anyone needs me, I'm gonna go to the cells." Karen said going in her room.

"All day?" Colton asked.

"Depends."

"On?"

"If I want to release all the anger in me." She went in her room and slammed her door.

"Dang, she needs sex bad Colton." Taylor said.

Austin and I growled at him and Colton blushed.

I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a poptart and I opened it angrily.

"Whoa, what crawled up your ass?" Michael asked.

"Fuck off." I replied.

"Come on little sis. You can talk to me." He said.

"Get the fuck away from me."

He held his hands up and I walked past him and ran to my room. I changed into a sports bra and running shorts and grabbed a bag. I ran outside and stripped and put my clothes into the bag and wrapped it on me and shifted into my dark brown wolf.

I started running and after about a hour or so, I stopped at a stream. I drank some water and some wolves started coming out of the woods and I looked around.

Fuck.

Hey, haven't heard from you in a while.

I know.

A bigger wolf came forward and I stood my ground. I do have authority blood in me after all.

He shifted and put basketball shorts on.

"Shift." He commanded.

I barked and he rolled his eyes and told everyone to turn around. I shifted and put on my clothes.

"Okay, done." I said.

They turned around and the dude walked to me.

"Why are you trespassing?"

"Shit, I am?" I asked.

"Yes, now why are you here?"

"I just went for a run and I guess I didn't realize I left the territory."

"I see."

"So, I'm gonna go, I'm pretty sure everyone's looking for me and I do not want to get in trouble." I said slowly backing away.

He narrowed his eyes at me and I jumped and shifted mid air and ran back in the direction of the pack house.

I got back and saw people setting up chairs and getting stuff together. I shifted and got dressed and walked towards the people.

"Excuse me, what's going on?" I asked a girl.

"We're setting up the ceremony for our new pack members." She replied smiling.

"It's Saturday already?" I asked.

She giggled and nodded. "Yeah. It takes all day and a lot of people to help out."

"Do I have to do anything? I'm part of the family that's getting accepted into this pack." I told her.

"Well, why didn't you say that? You and your family are going to stay in the pack house until the Luna comes and gets you guys ready." She said.

"Thank you so much-" I trailed off not knowing her name.

"Ariel." She replied sweetly.

"Thank you Ariel." I smiled and she giggled.

"No problem." She said.

I heard a growl and I turned and saw Karen staring at me.

"I should get back to work. I don't want my mom to yell at me." She said smiling.

I smiled back and nodded. "After the ceremony, wanna hang out?" I asked.

"Sure." She smiled.

I smiled and walked away. "Bye Ariel!"

"Wait, what's your name?" She called back.

"Rachel!" I smiled and walked to the pack house.

I was pushed against the wall and Karen was in front of me, her eyes black. "What the fuck was that?"

"What was what?" I asked.

She growled and walked away.

I stood there breathing hard and my mom called me.

I found her in the kitchen and she looked up at me. "The alpha wants to talk to you. He's in his office." I nodded and walked to his office.

I knocked on the door and he said come in. Austin, Karen and my dad were in there. Along with Beta Zack and Taylor.

"Sit down Rachel."

I sat down and he looked at me and said, "Rachel, you ran onto enemy territory. Do you know how dangerous that is?"

"Yes, I do." I replied.

"Why'd you do it?" He asked.

"I didn't know honestly. I don't know my way around here and I haven't really let out my wolf and run." I explained. "I didn't get us into a war, did I?"

"No, you didn't. I just got a call from their alpha and told him I'll deal with it. Just be careful next time."

"Trust me, I will. I almost peed my pants when I found out I went too far." I replied.

"Tomorrow, Austin, Karen and Taylor will take you and Michael walking around the territory. They'll only do some of it because our territory is so huge." He said.

"Sounds like fun." I replied.

"It will be." Austin said.

I smiled and the cup Karen had in her hand, shattered.

"Karen, what the hell?" Alpha Alex said.

"Sorry Dad." She mumbled.

"I need to talk to you alone anyways. You all can leave."

We all left and I looked at Karen and I could see that her wolf was close to coming out.

"I'll see you later Karen." I told her.

She narrowed her eyes at me and I could see disappointment.

"Austin, wait!" I ran up to him and he looked at me.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Do I really have to stay in here all day?" I asked.

He laughed and leaned down to kiss me. He pulled away and put his arm around my shoulder.

"Karen and I were given strict instructions to stay here with you guys. My parents will be busy. My dad has paperwork and my mom is cooking. All of this for you." He told me. He tapped me on the nose and I scrunched up my face.

"What do we wear?" I asked.

"Your parents already have that covered." He told me.

I smiled and I saw Ariel carrying a platter. I jogged over to her and asked, "Do you need help with that?"

She looked at me and smiled. "Yes but if you help me the Luna might scold me."

"I don't mind Ariel, really."

I took the platter from her and she told me to set it down in the dining room. She walked me to there and that's when I saw a whole bunch of food on the table.

"There's no room!" I exclaimed.

She looked at me and said, "There's always room Rachel. You just gotta move stuff around."

She moved some stuff out of the way and then there was room for the platter.

I set it down and she furrowed her eyebrows. "I have to go. My mom is calling me again." She rolled her eyes.

I giggled and nodded. She giggled and walked away.

I walked to the living room and sat on the couch and turned the tv on. Austin sat beside me and I smiled.

"You left me."

"I had to go help a friend."

"Ariel is the sweetest person here. But when you get her mad, that's when trouble forms." He told me.

"Remind to never make anyone here mad. I don't feel like fighting anyone." I told him.

He laughed and kissed the top of my head.

"I need to talk to Rachel alone." Karen said from the top of the stairs.

I got up and walked to her room. When I got there, she locked her door and slammed me against the wall and kissed me hard.

"You don't know how fucking angry you're making me." She told me.

I felt her canines on my neck and I pulled away.

"Karen, we can't mate."

"And why the fuck not? Do you really think I can just stand here and watch you flirt with everyone you see. I can barely stand you and Austin being together but seeing you and Ariel together almost broke my heart. My wolf almost came out and killed her. Do you know what my dad told me?" I shook my head and she said, "He told me that if I didn't stop acting up and being rude, he would make Austin alpha and I would be left with nothing unless Austin decided to give me a position."

I looked at her and I could tell that she was angry.

"Karen-"

"Are you rejecting me?" She whispered.

"No, baby, no." I walked to her and held her face in my hands. I wiped away a tear and she started to cry.

I knew that right then and there, I had broken her.
