《Possession》Chapter Two

Lunar's POV
"Ma," I laughed as she fixed my tie, "I can do it myself. Besides, Mr. Hayes said he didn't care about me wearing formal clothing. I'm only helping him around his office, He said to dress comfortably."
Right when I got home from hanging out with Mathis, Ma dragged me to the store to get fancy clothing.
"You need to dress properly for this job!" She said, "I'm so sorry! I never thought about the attire there when applying for the job opening. I wish I had done more research. If I had known, I never would've sent you off in those clothes you wore!"
I laughed more, "Ma, it's alright! Please, I've got to head to work. I can't be late on my first day."
"Yes, yes, yes," She hurried, shoving a lunch bag into my hands, "Of course! Hurry, off you go!"
"Love ya, Ma!" I chuckled with a roll of my eyes as I headed out the door. Dad waited by the car; he was prepared for a pep talk. Holding up my hand, I stopped him as his mouth began to open, "I've got this, Dad. Just give me the keys. I promise I won't crash the car."
He grinned at me as I got into the car and pulled away. I shook my head as I smiled, heading to Company and parking. Looking at the lunch pack Ma had given me I sighed, getting out of the car before coming over to a ragged man.
"Here," I smiled at him as I kneeled in front of me, the feeling of being watched beginning to come back as the man looked up at me, "You look like you could use this more than me."
He stared at me in surprise, hesitantly taking the bag, "H-How kind of you. Th-Thank you so much, Young Man."
Pulling out my wallet, I gave him the hundred-dollar bill I had been saving, "This should help keep you fed for a couple of days. Don't get down, you can get back on your feet. Don't give up!"
I gave him a fist bump as he stared at me, shock all over his face as I headed into the building, "I believe in you!"
Opening the door I sighed with a smile, jumping as Mr. Lincoln spoke, "That was very kind of you to do."

He set a magazine on the table next to him, standing from his seat and approaching me as I replied, "Th-The world needs kindness to thrive. If we fill the world with hate we're sure to perish by our own hands."
A grin formed on his lips as I followed him into the elevator, "You're quite right, Mr. Lunar. In a world of darkness, only damnation may occur."
Once on the top floor, we headed into Mr. Hayes' office where he stood waiting for our arrival. He was holding up a clipboard, smiling as he saw I had made it on time, "Ah, glad to see you, Mr. Lunar. Here is your workload for today."
I took the clipboard from him, looking it over as he and Mr. Lincoln had their little conversation. I was distracted by the fact that the list was handwritten. His handwriting was very neat and in gorgeous calligraphy. Strange to see, usually females are the ones to have such handwriting.
"Is there an issue?" My attention was brought back, making me realize that Mr. Hayes and Mr. Lincoln were both looking at me.
I shook my head, "N-Not at all. Y-You just have nice handwriting."
He chuckled at my response, "Mr. Lincoln and I are going to head out for a few hours, I expect everything on that list to be completed by the time we get back."
Shock filled me, "Y-You're leaving me alone in your office? Y-You don't even know me!"
A laugh filled his and Mr. Lincoln's throat as they headed for the door, Mr. Hayes grinning at me as he spoke, "We will be back by Noon."
He shut the door behind them, leaving me alone in his office. Standing and staring at the door I shook my head as my irises looked down at the clipboard, sighing, "Al-Alright, then."

Lunar's POV
I was about finished with the last thing on the list when I heard the door behind me open, jumping and tumbling from the ladder I was on. Muscular arms caught me before my body could land on the ground, "Are you alright?"
Looking at the man, I nodded, "...Y-You startled me."
"I'm sorry, I was looking for Mr. Hayes," He smiled, setting me down.
"H-He and Mr. Lincoln w-went out--," I was interrupted as they both entered the room, shutting up as I began picking up the books that I had dropped when I had fallen.

"Carson, hello," Mr. Hayes forced a grin at him. He didn't seem happy with his presence; his voice was dry and ugly towards him.
Finishing up with the mess I had made, I climbed back onto the ladder, getting Carson to immediately hold onto it, fearing that I may fall again. I put the last of the books onto the shelf, all the books now perfectly in alphabetical order. Grinning at my work I stepped back to the floor, "Thank you for holding the ladder, but it wasn't necessary."
"It was the least I could do after scaring you," Carson smiled back, earning a clearing throat from Mr. Hayes. We both looked over at him, his eyes sending daggers in Carson's direction.
"What may I help you with, Carson?"
Without giving Mr. Hayes any waiting time, Carson pulled out some envelopes, "These are for you, Tyler."
"Good. Now, get out of my office and away from my employee," Mr. Hayes retorted coldly, sending Carson to immediately rush out. Mr. Hayes' mood quickly lightened up as he grinned at me, "You've done beautiful work on my office, thank you. Have you any lunch?"
"He gave it to the homeless man outside," Mr. Lincoln replied for me as I opened my mouth to speak, "Along with a hundred-dollar bill."
I closed my mouth as I looked at them both, getting quiet as Mr. Hayes looked at me, his head tilting to the side as he smiled warmly, "That is very kind of you but what will you eat?"
"I-I'm not hungry," I flustered out, my voice getting quiet as they both looked at me.
"Why don't we take you to get something to eat, hm?" Mr. Lincoln smiled, "You've done a wonderful job on the office, you deserve a treat."
"I-I'm alright," I mustered with a shake of my head. The very thought of food made my stomach clench and my throat lock up, my arms very slowly beginning to tighten around my torso.
"You really must eat, Mr. Lunar."
"I-I'm not h-hungry," I shook my head, desperately trying to keep my face from going pale. The room began to spin as I stumbled forward, "Wh-Where's the bathroom?"
"Are you alright?"
"Y-Yeah, I-I just need to use the bathroom."
Mr. Hayes caught me as I fell over, my body curling into a ball as I held my head to my knees and covered my face, trying to get the room to stop spinning, "Mr. Lunar, breathe. You're alright."
Stop spinning, stop spinning, stop spinning.
I closed my eyes tight, curling tensely as I trembled. After a few moments, my body settled down, allowing me to uncurl and sit up. I blushed. In the midst of being in that state Mr. Hayes had moved me into his lap, draping his coat around me.
How did you not notice that?
Feeling me unravel his grip around me loosened up, allowing me to uncurl in his lap, "Are you alright, Mr. Lunar?"
I did a slow nod, pulling myself off his lap. His hand grabbed my wrist tightly, bringing my eyes to him as he stared at me, repeating his question but more sternly, "Are you alright, Mr. Lunar?"
I stared at him for a moment, swallowing as I did a slow nod, "Y-Yes, sir. I-I'm fine."
"Don't lie to us," Mr. Lincoln muttered, his voice filled with frustration as he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him, "Are you alright?"
I swallowed forcefully, staying quiet as I looked at him.
"Are you alright?" He asked with more force, the heat of his breath barely touching my lips as his grip around my jaw moved to my throat.
It was like my brain forgot how to speak as I stared him in the eyes. A grin flickered onto his lips, his grip loosening around my neck. My heart was stampeding as I felt Mr. Hayes stand up from behind me, his body heat piercing mine as he let go of my wrist.
"Are you alright?" He whispered into my ear, his hands gripping my waist as I stood frozen.
"Y-Yes, I-I'm alright," Slowly I nodded at them both, swallowing as I managed out. Mr. Lincoln released his hold on me, Mr. Hayes' own hands dropping from my body as they backed away from me.
"Good," Mr. Hayes replied, "Why don't you take the rest of the day off and head home? Get some rest and come back tomorrow."
With that I headed home, my face heated as I ran inside and rushed to my bedroom, slamming the door shut and locking it as I sunk to the ground.
What the fuck just happen?
