《The Baby》seventeen

The day I finished packing up my apartment is the same day Grayson insisted I come live with him. He was quite patient and didn't push for me to move in any earlier than I was ready to. Packing while caring for a newborn was far from easy. It took me four weeks exactly, but I finally got it done.

I didn't feel the need to hire movers when I have family and friends who were willing to fill in that role. Both my brothers and my father had offered to help. Yadiel isn't one for manual labour and I know only agreed to help so he could get a free tour of Grayson's estate. I was forced to break my lease and it was scary. I was fully jumping into this relationship with Grayson and it was either going to work to bite me in the ass or be the best decision I've ever made.

Getting out of the car, I opened the back door of Grayson's car to look at Amelia. She was fully asleep and I was happy she slept through the car ride.

"Hi baby," I picked her out of the car seat. I jumped when I heard a scream come from outside the house. The front door opened, Paige running outside like there might be a fire inside. She was barefoot with nothing but a long t-shirt on.

"It's move in day!" Paige cheered, approaching the car. "I get to live with my favourite niece. Can I hold her?" She reached out but before she could touch Amelia, Grayson got out of the car to stop her.

"No, she's sleeping."

"But-"

"I said no," he shut her down and she gave him a frown. Grayson has been protective to say the least. He isn't okay with just anyone being in the vicinity of her without him knowing every individual. Not to mention holding her is completely off limits for anyone other my parents and his mother.

"Don't take it personally. He just needs time," I smiled at her to ease the tension. Helping put the tension at ease were the vehicles coming up Grayson's large driveway. It was a moving truck containing my parents and then Yadiel and Jamal pulled up the driveway in their own car.

"This house looks like it needs a fucking tour guide," Yadiel rushed out of the car to take in this house.

"Well you're not here for a tour, you're here to help me move. So put your curiosity at ease for the day please," I rocked Amelia in my arms when I felt her begin to wake up.

"I just added Kalani's car to the garage. Come look at it," Grayson gestured for Yadiel to look at him. Yadiel's jaw dropped.

"Since when does Kalani have a car? What is it?" He asked me and I shrugged because cars are not something I'm very knowledgeable on. All I know is my siblings and I shared a Honda Civic for years and ran that thing to the ground.

"Brabus Mercedes G 63," Grayson gave him the details and Yadiel squealed like a little girl. "Completely decked out. Lifted with limited edition white leather seats. Kalani didn't share my excitement, so I have to show you," he spoke as they walked away to the side of the house. The last thing I ever expected from Grayson was for him to buy me a car. I never asked and never felt like I needed one, let alone one as luxurious as the one he got me. But he told me to look at it as a push present which didn't help matters at all.

"Hi mom," I carefully gave her Amelia after she took the baby bag from the back seat. "She still needs to eat. The nursery is upstairs right beside the master bedroom. One of the housekeepers can show you." I couldn't believe the words leaving my lips, but they were all becoming a reality for me. Since Amelia's birth, Grayson has been having the nursery at his house prepared for by the time I moved in. It shortened the list of things we had to do.

The day was going by smoothly. Grayson finished being a show off and allowed my brother to help with the move. It consisted of me pointing to where I wanted them to put things and Grayson texting me about how if he sees a scratch on his walls he's going to lose his shit. He stayed in his office getting work done. It was better to not have him around.

Throughout the move another car pulled into the driveway and it was his mother who was the last person I expected to see. But Paige or Grayson must've informed her I would be moving in today.

"Hi, Mrs. Astor. How are you?" I walked outside to her car while she opened her trunk. Inside was a big gift bag stuffed with wrapping tissue.

"I'm good. I just finished up at my pilates and thought I would stop by to get you a housewarming gift," she smiled at me. Things have been off with his family considering Blake seems to hate me. But I'm happy Blake's dislike for me hasn't transferred onto Paige or Elena because they've both been so sweet to me. "And please, call me Elena. Especially since soon you'll be Mrs. Astor too," she winked and it was a reminder of how I would now have to start thinking about wedding planning.

"The house is currently undergoing a move, as you know. But please come in. My mom is upstairs with Amelia if you'd like to meet her," I welcomed her into the home and she smiled as we went up the stairs. They met informally at the hospital when Amelia was born. But it was a hectic day and I'm sure their focus was not on getting to know each other.

For the most part, the house was tidy. I mostly brought decorative things I wasn't willing to give up. And the heaps of clothes I own. Most of my furniture was sold.

"Wow, there's my little grand baby," Elena kept her voice down when she saw Amelia asleep in her crib. My mother was seated on a rocking chair and immediately shot to her feet when we entered the room.

"Mom, this is Elena. Elena, this is my mom Celia," I quickly introduced them. It didn't take long for them to dive into conversation and I'm so glad Elena is nothing like Blake because he's such a pain in the ass. But people say the same about Grayson and I'm a firm believer on him just being misunderstood.

It was pretty late when everyone left. They had dinner here and we all talked for a while before they left me in this big house with my baby and soon to be husband. The soon to be husband who stayed in his office the entire time.

While Amelia slept in her crib, I opened the gift Elena got for me. Inside was a gift basket filled with a stuffed bear with Amelia's full name and birthday stitched on the bottom of its foot. There was adorable knit baby slippers I was excited to use to keep her feet warm. She also added a few onesies and blankets. The gift was thoughtful and I would have to message and thank her.

Time passed and I figured I would go check on Grayson. When I entered the office he had the closest thing to a smile on his face.

"Yes. That's perfect. I'll arrange for that to happen," he hung up his phone call. I've never been in his office and was completely amazed by the bookshelf taking up an entire wall. "Are they gone?"

"Yes."

"My social battery is limited. I can only pretend for so long," he bluntly stated and I couldn't hate him for it. I would rather him hide away than be rude to their faces.

"What was that near smile for?" I went around his desk to sit on the edge in front of him.

"Lee called me saying he's got time next week. My half ass assistant, Trinity, explained to him I couldn't make it because of the birth of my child. Apparently Lee is a family man who has five kids. He said he understands and respects my decision," he explained and I rose an eyebrow. I'm pretty sure his assistant's name is Tracey.

I couldn't help but smile because I was worried. There was no animosity between us, but I was worried Grayson may come to resent Amelia because him not being in Shanghai ruins everything he's worked hard for. But he never shared any hint of anger towards her and I'm happy things will still work out for him.

Him leaving me for a week while I take care of a newborn on my own didn't even bother me because he's proven he does care for the both of us. I know how hard he's been trying to balance work and life. It would be wrong of me to even think about being upset about this. I'm happy for him.

"That is amazing. I'm so happy for you, Gray," I switched to sit on his lap while I hugged his neck. My lips touched his as he let out a quiet groan. I brought my fingers into his hair, straddling his lap to pull myself closer. Him and I have refrained from letting things get too far out of fear of starting something we can't finish. For the sake of my healing, it's better that way. But the way he kissed me made me desperately want to let him have what he wants.

"I want you," he expressed. Feeling his erection grow under me and the way he held onto my ass made me want him just as bad as he wanted me.

"The doctor said six weeks," I reminded him as he kissed along my neck.

"The doctor also said it's your discretion and whenever you feel ready," he softly bit onto my neck, making me shudder under his teeth.

"And I'll be ready at six weeks," I pulled away to look at him. I've felt ready for a while. Giving birth to Amelia took its toll on my body, but I've started feeling more confident and comfortable. But I would be lying if I said it didn't feel somewhat good having him wait for me.

When he comes back from Shanghai I'll be ready and it'll be our first time having sex since we conceived Amelia. It gave me something to look forward to.

"Fine. But when you finally let me have you, I'm going to fuck you in every corner of this house," he kissed my jaw and I smiled.
