I think my heart just broke. I know I've only known her for 2 fucking days and I'm already attached to her. Storm's been going though so much and nobody noticed her pain. She was being abused but she still got up everyday and tried. 

After the doctor told us what happened I could see Arlo trying to be strong but I see in her eyes that she wants to break out crying but for my sake she's holding it in. She left to go sign Storm out and I went to her room. 

I went up to her and held her hand. 'I'm sorry Storm' I whispered. 

She like my little sister now. Especially since I see the chemistry that her and Arlo have, I'm going to show her what family is. We're her new family now and on my life I'm not letting her go. 

Arlo walked in and picked Storm up, took my hand and walked us to the car. 

"It's all going to be okay, I got both you." I heard her whisper to Storm. 

We walked to the car and I sat in the back and Arlo rested Storm on my lap. The only noise was the traffic. I ran my hand through Storm's hair while looking out of the window. It wasn't dark and the sun was just setting giving off a golden glow.

I was lost in my thoughts. I was mentally exhausted for today. I wasn't hungry, I just want sleep and to make sure that Storm is safe but my sister would make sure she is. 

We passed Storm's old home and saw 2 cars in the driveway. The lights in the living room was on and I could see a man standing on the patio with a knife looking sinisterly like he was evilly planning something.

I was going to tell Arlo but I decided to wait till we got home because I knew she would turn the car around and go fuck him up. 

I rested my head on the window and I dosed off. I felt somebody shaking me and I lazily opened my eyes seeing Arlo hovering over me. I looked down and I saw that Storm wasn't on my lap anymore. 

I moved out of the car and went straight to my room. I knew I would be up at maybe 10 because of how early I went to sleep and Arlo would still be up at that time because she's a night owl. 

I took off my outside clothes and went straight to sleep. 

 I drove us home and to be honest we could all use a break. I'm planning to keep them home from school for maybe a week just so they could recharge mentally. Maybe we could go on a trip, or stay home and watch movies, play games, have a little get together with only us and Rowan. 

Storms too young to have been going through this. Matter of fact nobody should ever go through this shit. I know I can't make her forget but I'm going to fill her mind with happy memories so she doesn't dwell on the painful ones .

I pulled up to the house and picked Storm up to get her to bed. I wanted her close to me just incase something happens. I laid her on the bed under the covers went back to the car to get her bags. I made about 2 trips and then all her bags were in her room. 

I went back to the car to wake Levi up and sent her to her room. After she left, I locked the car and went to my room. 

'I need a drink.' I thought to myself. 

I dropped down to my bed and called Rowan. It said connecting and then I saw her face pop up on my screen.

"What it do bro?" She asked observing me.

"Levi called me from school today worried about Storm, so I took her out of school and we went to her house." 

I took a deep breath and continued "We pulled up to her house and saw bruises on her, then she said that her mom and the mom's boyfriend was mad because she came home late yesterday."

"She said that the mom's boyfriend hit her around a little bit, I told her that she's coming to live with me and with a little persuading from me and Levi she said yes,"

"We went to pack her bags and as we were going to the car she fainted. We rushed her to the hospital and the doctor told us that she was beaten almost to death and she was raped." My voice cracked. 

"Damn Arlo, I'm sorry Storm was going through this, we gon handle them just give me the signal and I got you." She replied. 

"You my best friend for real for real. But I was wondering If you maybe wanted to come over tomorrow?" I asked.

"For sure I'll text you when I'm on my way, get some rest you look like shit." She joked. 

"I love you bro."

"I love you too bro." With that being said I hung up. I got up to take a shower and changed into something comfortable. I was feeling hungry so I went in the kitchen and started cooking. 

I Kept it simple I made macaroni and cheese and baked chicken. I knew that Levi's fat ass would be up soon so I made her and Storm a plate, and I put them in the oven. 

After I finished eating I moved to my office and did some work. I had a few shipments coming through so I had to do some documents and make sure everything was in order. 

It was maybe 1 or 2 hours later when I heard foot steps outside my door. I had a feeling it was Storm because Levi knows every room in the house and she would have already busted in the room. 

I got up to open the door and I came face to face with Storm, who looked confused and dazed. 

"I'm sorry to disturb you I didn't know where to go." She said looking down. 

"It's okay mamas, you hungry?" I asked lifting her face my her chin. 

She nodded her head yes so I led her to the kitchen, she sat at the counter while I got her food. The oven only had one plate in it so I knew that Levi already ate. 

I set the plate in front of her and asked her If she wanted anything to drink. I gave her a sprite and she dug in. After she was done I figured we needed to talk. 

"Let's go the living room so we can talk." We got up and I led her. She sat down and I kneeled in front of her. 

"Baby girl you don't have to tell me the whole story you can just answer yes or no, okay?" I asked. 

She nodded her head yes. "Use your words ma." 

She let out a small yes and I smiled. 

"Did your mom's boyfriend hurt you?" I asked holding her hand.

She replied yes. 

"Did your mom's boyfriend do more than hit you?" 

She replied yes.

This one would be a hard one to ask but It had to be done "Did he rape you?"

She started to tear up and she said yes. I opened my arms for her to come into and she clung unto to me. 

"I promise and I lay this on my life I'm going to protect you, okay I got you," I whispered in her hair running my hands through her hair. 

"You pinky promise?' She asked looking me in the eyes. 

"I pinky promise." I said sticking out my pinky finger, she hooked hers with mine and I kissed them. 

'Come on you look tired." I said getting up. She lifted her hands up signaling that she wanted me to lift her. I laughed and lifted her up. She giggled and I smiled. 

I walked her to her room but she said she didn't want to sleep alone tonight because she was scared so I offered to stay in the room with her. I laid her on the bed and took off my shirt then I laid with her. 

She cuddled up with me and whispered thank you softly. I kissed her cheek and told her good night and then I was out like a light.
