《Virtue and Vice》Rush and Restraint - Excerpt - CBB Book 2

Hello readers!

Welcome back to Cobalt Bay!

I know you guys are looking for an epilogue for Virtue and Vice. I'm still deliberating that.

I'm starting to review the plots for the next three books and I want to get your opinion on something.

Virtue and Vice was written in a first person point of view. That seems to be successful.

The other three books though, I've decided to write in third person.

I know, shocker!

If you've read most of my books, you'd know I write in first person a lot—like all the time. LOL!

But I could actually write in third person just fine. I think, anyway.

The thing was, I didn't have a series planned out in the beginning. It just kind of happened.

I could write in first person again because I love consistency but I'm hedging. Publishing wise, it might be better to keep them consistent.

Anyway, here's a sneak preview of what I've written so far.

***WARNING: The book isn't getting published here right away. I'm still reviewing the plot and making big decisions on it. What you see written here could still be changed.***

"What game are you playing, Viv?" Oliver asked huskily, his brows furrowing. "This isn't like you at all."

She gave him a wry smile. "Did it ever occur to you that maybe this really is like me and I've just been holding back all this time?"

"You never hold anything back, Viv," he snorted. "A tornado can't help itself."

She wrinkled her nose at the comparison. "Just as a tornado keeps such a frightening, destructive front no one and nothing can get close enough to see inside it?"

A strange expression flickered across his face. "You know that I'll still try to hold you in my arms even if you're going to completely devastate me, Viv. I think you've known that for a long time."

She sighed. Of course she knew.

"Because I was that sweet, little girl who yanked you back on your feet when you were about to let yourself be swallowed by grief?" she asked flatly, looking directly into his eyes. "If it's because you owe me, Oliver, then you can shove it up your ass. I don't want it. I'm not looking for a lifetime of gratitude."

He exhaled sharply. "Then what are you looking for, Vivienne? What else can you possibly want?"

She bit her lip. "I want you."

Please comment so I know what you think. It would help a lot to get more input on this. It'll give me something to think about while I'm on hiatus.

Thank you! =)

XOXO! -Ninya
