《Broken Reality (BNHA / Undertale Crossover)》Chapter Twelve

Ink was the first to be by Classic's side, the glitching only growing worse the longer they remained there. His appearance was shifting not only between the Aus, but of some of the people among the current world. Ink bit back anger as he glanced up toward Error, hope laced in his eyes.
"There has got to be something we can do!" Silence fell over both before Nightmare made his way toward the group. He gently reached out, fingers pulling Classic into his embrace. His legs hit the floor as he felt sorrow well up in him.
"Error... What if we get him back to Undertale? Back to his Au?" Error shrugged before scratching his head.
"I don't know what will happen. His coding is already being tampered with, meaning the damage could already be sufficient!"
"Sufficient?" Ink met Error's gaze as he spoke low.
"It may already be at a critical point. We might have been late the moment it began..." Nightmare's tone was venomous as he spoke.
"Meaning what exactly?"
"Meaning his existence is being erased for good. Simply put... He's dying." Midoriya had been trying to wrap his mind around the current information. Classic was strong, there was no denying. The idea he was from a different world wasn't entirely impossible. The main point that confused Midoriya was the idea the world was deleting him.
"If I may, can I ask who exactly you guys are?" No one spoke as Ink pondered a response. He knew better then to speak of the Aus to other worlds, but he knew he had also failed that earlier. Sighing, he made eye contact before speaking.
"Most of us are from a different world, probably universe. Ours is more dark and gruesome than this, but we survive even among each other. Simply put, I am a protector of the worlds. Classic here is the original, the first ever Sans. We all were created after him, each serving some purpose in life." Error sighed before chiming in.
"Since Classic is the original, he suffers from too many Aus existing at the same time. Simply put, this is happening because the world thought he was similar to a virus. This is one world compared to many. With so many of the Aus in one place at a time, it messes up the system. My hope is that returning him to his original universe will erase the process that is killing him." Midoriya nodded before looking away. Tears gathered in his eyes as he refrained from crying. He almost broke down the moment Classic spoke up. His voice was fragmented, broken up beyond repair.
"Do00n't WoRrrrYy. I'Ll Beee FfinnneeEe..." His smile most knew was fake, but Midoriya saw hope in his eyes.

"Will I ever see you again?" Classic tried to nod but his body refused to move. He knew his answer would be a lie. Truth was, he knew there was no future for him. The process was painful and reaching the final stages. Going back wasn't going to help, only bring more sorrow throughout the multiverse. He sighed lightly as he leaned into Nightmare, enjoying the little warmth he felt.
"It's okay Classic, let's get you home." He couldn't find the strength to respond as hands helped him to his feet. His gaze shifted to Midoriya, tears rolling down his face. The crowd had become numerous in no time, some giving sad looks while others seemed terrified. Classic would have been willing to ignore the onlookers had bloodlust not flooded the air. Most had noticed it as a familiar figure slipped through the crowd, hand outstretched. His aim was for Nightmare, who hadn't noticed until it was too late. The strangers hand was mere inches as Classic found the strength to act. Without warning he pushed off Nightmare, sending him backwards as the hand landed fully on Classic's chest. A burning sensation grew over Classic's body as pain engulfed him. His legs lost their strength, sending him to the ground once more. Cracks raced along his body as he watched pieces begin to vaporize, to catch the wind and travel into the distance. His mind was flooded with fear, unaware of the familiar teacher capturing the villain.
"This... Feels different..." He fell forward, arms wrapping around him. He could feel the body tremble as the grip increased. Through blurred vision he noticed Nightmare's tears. His face was engulfed in sorrow as he tried desperately to keep Classic before him. Dust gathered in the air as it was carried away, Classic's body breaking down. The pain had begun to vanish as his body lost pieces.
"You... You can't leave me Classic... Not yet... Not ever." A pain smile crossed Classic as he gently pressed a hand to Nightmare's cheek. His eyes wished to close, something he fought with the remaining strength.
"It'll be okay... At least now I'm free!" Ink tried to reach out but stopped when Nightmare glared toward him. Classic chuckled lightly as his smile rose more.
"This isn't what I wanted to happen Classic... I'm sorry."
"It's all good. All things come to an end... It's one thing I had learned through all the genocides. No matter what happens and the pain you feel, death is simply a bittersweet thing. Granting you freedom from the pain. At least this time it's permanent..." Everyone had fallen silent as Nightmare clung onto air, the last pieces of Classic vanishing into the sky. Tears trailed most faces, including the classmates that had barely known Classic. That day was one most would remember. The group remained silent as Error held in his own pain. He met Ink's gaze before nodding slightly.

"Create a way back." Ink nodded as a response before a portal opened. The group took one last look before most stepped through, Nightmare and Ink lingering behind. Regret hung over Ink as he reached to Nightmare. He had anticipated a fight, but instead was greeted with a tight hug. Nightmare's expression was broken, lost within himself.
"Will... Will we see you guys ever again?" Ink glanced at the green haired kid, a frown forming on his face.
"Afraid not. Thank you for being a friend of Classic's..." Nothing else was said as the two stepped into the black pit, the entrance shutting the moment they passed through. The crowd remained silent as Midoriya fell to his knees. He looked to the small pile of dust as it was carried away with the breeze.
Classic felt so weightless. He felt as if he was floating. Free from the burdens and past that haunted him. He felt at peace. Well, almost. Even peace seemed to come crashing down, literally!
"What the..." The sound of Classic hitting the ground filled the silence as he rubbed his head. He was trying to grasp where he was, which was simple the moment he notice others similar to him. They also had noticed him, the one hovering over the other seeming the least shocked of the three.
"CLASSIC? Where the heck did ya come from?" Classic shrugged, his gaze dropping to Geno. He gave a pleading look, one that Classic ignored.
"Am I interrupting something? Also, kind of funny when one dies and somehow stumbles into Death off shift!" Reaper gave a confused look before Geno tried to speak up, only to be silenced by Reaper himself.
"No you..."
"Yes you did! While it's nice to see you again, I was just about to get some love!" Classic glanced between them, a smirk crossing his face. While it was weird he was alive, somewhere deep in him was glad.
"Well, guess I'll take my leave then! Anyway I can get to Nightmare's castle?" Reaper nodded before he opened a passage, Classic giving a small wave. He saw Geno's betrayed look, but ignored it as he vanished from view. He felt slightly bad, but he had a group to surprise. He was sure their surprise would be greater than his the moment he was standing alive once more.
Nightmare slipped through the portal, arriving in his living room. Most of the others were seated, all recovering from past events. It had hit Nightmare the hardest. He felt the tears. The growing weakness others could see. Even so, he couldn't find the will to care. They had lost the one anchor in their life. The one person they loved with every bit of emotion they held. He was gone...
"I got to head out... We'll check up later." All Nightmare could muster was a nod as Ink turned to leave. He slipped into the kitchen before his feet froze in place. The sound of his paintbrush hitting the floor drew all eyes as Blue and Dream rushed over. The moment their eyes landed on a familiar face, shock and joy washed over them. There wasn't warning as Dream rushed Classic, both running into the counter from the tackles impact. He hugged back before laughing, the sound drawing the rest. Most felt themselves lose strength at the sight. Nightmare was the last to enter, his heart feeling as if it was about to break. His pain was growing until his eyes focused on the approaching figure. Arms wrapped around him as sniffles filled the growing silence.
"Hope you guys missed me!" Pulling away, he pulled a smile over his face as Nightmare finally realized who was before him. His sockets fell dark as his body trembled. His arms hugged Classic back.
"We thought you died..." Classic nodded before snuggling closer.
"I did. The world was deleting me, but being killed split the two codes. The human version died, sending me back home." Error smiled before leaning against the wall.
"Welcome back!"
"Glad to be back!"
Things had changed over time. Ink's plan to cage Classic had been put to rest, leaving Classic free time to pay visits to others. Nightmare's group had formed a treaty with Ink, granting peace between the two so long as both sides held up their end. To say the least, everything had changed for the better. Classic had found his happiness in the end. Ink had found his own romance brewing. Even Blue had found a purpose. No one had seen the edgy skeleton becoming a softie for Blue, but the world works in mysterious ways. The once broken and cruel past was replaced with times that would willingly be remembered. No more fighting. No more isolation. Finally, no more genocide. Everything was perfect.
But nothing can last forever. Any fortunes are easily formed into misfortunes, but that's a tale for another time.
Hope you enjoyed! This is all there is to the tale, at least for now! Let me know if you all want a sequel

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
