"Hey, Y/n?"
"Y/n?"
"Huh"
You opened your eyes to see Ryan staring at you
"Ryan, what time is it?"
You say and sit up shielding your eyes from the bright light coming from the hospital window
"Time for you to wake up"
You give him a look and he chuckles
"It's 9 am," he says
"Jesus, why'd you come by so early?"
"I'm sorry I was worried, plus when I got here the nurse told me your okay to go now"
"I'm hungry"
"Well that was random" Ryan laughs
"I could ask the nurse for some food if you'd like?" Ryan says walking towards the door
"No, wait the food kinda.. sucks here"
Ryan laughs at your comment and comes back to your side
"How about we get out of here then maybe I can get you some food yeah?" He says smiling at you
"Are you sure?"
"Yes obviously or I wouldn't be offering" he teases
You laugh at him
"Sound like a plan then"
It took a few minutes but you and Ryan eventually checked out of the hospital And now you were sitting in Ryan's car
While Ryan was focused on driving you looked out of the passenger seat window
And zoned out while reality set in
"There so much going wrong," you thought
Amira's gone, there are two killers on the loose, Jed and you are having problems, everything was just so fucked up right now
Everything and everyone you loved was practically gone or soon to be gone
It made you frustrated and sad because you knew you couldn't do anything about it
You felt tears prick the side of your eyes and you wiped them away
Ryan seemed you notice the feeling in the air and turned toward you
"I'm sorry y/n"
"You didn't do anything Ryan, don't apologize it's okay," you said still looking out the window"
Ryan didn't say anything he instead looked back to the road in front of him
A few minutes had passed and you turned your attention toward Ryan again
you had finally tried to pull yourself together and lighten the mood a bit by asking Ryan random questions which he happily answered
"So what's your favorite color?"
"Really?" he raised his eyebrows at you and laughed
"Yup"
"Green no purple, wait no both yeah both"
You laughed as he answered

"Also you never told me where you wanted to eat so I'm taking you to that coffee shop near work"
You stop for a moment and took in what he said
"Well shit," you said, you completely forgot you didn't even tell him where you wanted to eat, but you weren't complaining
"They're foods good anyways," you said
"Well I'm glad you think that because we are here already"
"It smells good"
"Just like the food, now come on I want coffee," Ryan says and gets out of the car
You smiled and hopped out of the car and followed him inside
The two of you looked for a spot to sit after you ordered
"Look at the table we sat at last time it's open wanna sit there?"
"Duh," you said and walked towards it
Ryan playfully rolled his eyes and walked towards the table with you
You both sat down and talked for a bit
"What do you think you're going to be doing for the past couple of days?"
"With work closed, I honestly don't know, maybe just stay home and watch movies or something," you say
"What about you?" you look at Ryan and tilt your head
"Maybe the same thing"
"That's hard to believe" you laugh
He gives you a confused glance
"What do you mean?" he asks
"You're always running off somewhere"
He shrugs and laughs
"FOR Y/N AND RYAN?" the lady at the front yells
Ryan sighs and gets up "I'll get our order"
You smile and nod at him and he walks toward the front
You look out the window and zone out
"I wonder where Jed is right now," you thought as you turn away from the window and took your phone out of your pocket
You didn't check it today and wondered if Jed ever texted you or called anything at all
You opened your messages but there was nothing no calls neither
"Maybe I should just text him," you say out loud
"Text who?"
You jump a bit and look up from your seat
"Jesus Ryan you scared me, idiot"
He laughs and sets the food down in front of you
You sigh as Ryan sits down the smell of the food hitting the both of you
"I didn't know how hungry I was until I got over there and my stomach growled while the lady was handing me the food," Ryan said

"Really" you laugh at him
"Yes really, it was so embarrassing the other lady behind me giggled I swear she did, she was pretty too I was so embarrassed," he says
"She wants you dude" you joke and laugh harder when you see Ryans' reaction
"Shut up she might hear you" he blushes and takes a sip of his drink to calm down
You laugh and take a sip of the coffee you had ordered
"FOR BLAKE AND JED?" you hear the lady at the front yell and your heart sinks a bit and Ryan looks just as confused as you are
You both look to the front and see Jed and Blake walking and talking to each other but they look serious like they aren't just talking about random things like you and Ryan
"Have they always been here?" Ryan says and looks at you confused
"I don't know I didn't see them before"
"Do you think we should go say hi?"
"Definitely."
As Jed and Blake walk back to their table you and Ryan stand up from yours
You quickly head over to them and as does Ryan
"Hey, guys?" Ryan says and Blake and Jed look at the two of you surprised
"Hey, Ryan hey Y/n when did you guys get here?" Blake says and smiles and turns back to Jed
A second later she turns back to you and Ryan faster than before
"WAIT"
you raise your eyebrow at her and Ryan gives her a confused look
"GUYS!" she yells and stands up to give you both a hug
You giggle and hug her back, you guessed it just took her a second to realize
While you and Blake were hugging you took a glance at Jed
He was staring at you
"Shit," you thought and quickly averted your eyes elsewhere
He seemed to catch on and chuckled
"I'm so glad you're out of the hospital, I'm sorry I didn't call today or anything, some things had come up," Blake says, and let's go of you
"That's alright I understand"
"So how about you guys sit with us, there are two more open chairs," Blake says and sits down in her seat
"Sounds good to me, what about you Y/n?" Ryan asks
"Sounds good"
Ryan smiles and takes a seat next to Blake leaving you to have no choice but to sit next to Jed
"That fucker" you think and send Ryan a glare
To which he smiles at you
"So did you guys hear?" Blake says and shifts her eyes between you and Ryan
"Hear about what?" you and Ryan say infusion
"Since there have been two murders that involve people from the gazette the police are going to ask everyone questions," Jed says and glances at you and Ryan
"What really, why didn't Daniel say anything?" Ryan says with a confused look
"He's only told us, to which he told us to tell you, he's working on telling everybody else that works at the gazette right now," Blake says
"So they think someone at the gazette killed Cassie and Amira?" Ryan says and looks towards the window
You can't help but feel sad when Ryan brings up Amira and you fidget with your fingers on your lap
"Yeah, that's what we think at least," Blake says
Jed seems to have caught notice of your fidgeting and slowly brings his hand to yours and intertwines his fingers with yours
"I guess that makes sense a little" Ryan says
You turn to Jed as he starts to run his thumb across the side of your hand while your fingers are still intertwined
"Yeah, So when exactly did you guys get here anyway?" Blake says and looks over at Ryan confused
Jed is staring at the entrance to the cafe seemed to be lost in thought so you squeeze his hand
It catches him off guard and his eyes widen slightly but then he smiles and you can faintly make out a small blush across his face
"I thought we got here before you guys?" Ryan says and goes to grab his drink
"Oh, shit, um Y/n we forgot our food at the table," Ryan says
You look toward Ryan and let out a small laugh at what he said
"Shit," you say and let go of Jed's hand and stand up
Jed is snapped out of his daze and looks back at you with a sad expression
Ryan stands up and heads toward the table you guys were sitting at originally
And as Blake is looking at Ryan walk away you whisper to Jed
"I'll be right back"
Jed smiles and nods

Tales of the Legendary Scholar
They meet in the most unlikely moment and turned their life around. Freidrech newly arrived in his own nation's capital city, which is so foreign to him compared to his village's idyllic and nondiscriminatory atmosphere, after he is forced to come. Now, he is facing a royal prince and tells him to bow. This draws out one of his late father's teachings from the deepest recesses in his mind. "The blood of your great ancestors runs in your veins. Don't easily bow down to anyone, or accept suppression by any being, not even from a monarch, unless you pledge your allegiance to him. Also, giving in to oppression is directly telling the oppressor that you're easy prey and open for manipulation." He is uncertain on how to face this oppression right now. Will he bows or not? What will he do to uphold his father's words while keeping his life safe? As for the prince, Theodrech has nothing to do with Freidrech, so he wishes to let this slip, but the boy opens his mouth and proposes the most ludicrous challenge he ever heard and triggers his curiosity. "I, Freidrech Goederf Gerboud, son of the late Village Chief Louvel Gerboud of Wrilon, will challenge you, Your Highness, to a battle of riddles… If you win, I will not only bow but be your servant for the rest of my life." This amuses the prince. It is the first he met a boy of the same age who is not intimidated by the air of authority he projects. Rather, this boy challenges him. "Why are you so headstrong? In fact, bowing to me is an honor. You saw the King's noble Knights. When they saw me, they bowed," says Theodrech, testing Freidrech. "Allow me to be forward, Your Highness. For me, bowing to a monarch does not guarantee loyalty. If I were you, I rather have men who stand straight in my presence but who got my back, than bowing men who are dreaming of my death," replies Freidrech. The prince’s curiosity increases. A huge smile is seen on his face. Prince Theodrech decides to take Freidrech under his wing. Little did they know, this boy who Prince Theodrech takes in as his confidant and friend in the most ridiculous fashion is someone indispensable in his life and the one who can help him succeed the throne when he almost believes he has lost. Thus, the Tales of the Legendary Scholar begins. ------ o ------ Old Synopsis: A famous ancient adage stated, behind a successful man is a woman BUT… In these lands, the monarchs are seeking not a woman to stand behind them but the man hailed as the Legendary Scholar.
