I saw Dan’s phone light up AGAIN. I closed my eyes and pressed my lips against his chest. I just wanted her to leave us alone. I felt his grip tighten around me and his lips press against my forehead.

“I love you Tink.”

“I love you more Romeo.”

I slipped out of bed and found my top before going into the bathroom to freshen up. I walked out of the bathroom is see Dan getting changed very quickly.

“Where are you going?” I ask, watching him hurry around the room.

“I need to go out for a bit.”

“Where?”

“Just out.” He snapped before going out my room, running up to his.

I stood on the landing and waited for him to come down. A couple of minutes later he came running down, he tried to get passed me but I stood in his way.

“Where are you going?” I ask grabbing hold of his shoulders.

He wouldn’t look me in the eye; he just stared at the floor. “I just need to go out for a bit.”

“I know something has happened...at the end of the day Dan. I’m still your best friend so I can read you like a book.”

“I just need to see someone for a bit, I’ll be back.”

“Who?” I ask...I wanted to know where my boyfriend wanted to rush off to so quickly after we’d just had sex. We usually cuddled up but I guess we weren’t doing that today...

“No one special. I’ll be back soon.” He replies walking past me and running down the stairs. I didn’t even get a goodbye kiss?

I walked back into my room and realised his phone was gone from my side unit. I would bet everything I owned he’d gone to see Amy. I wasn’t worried about him seeing her as I trusted him one hundred percent but there was just something about how urgent she seemed to get in contact with him that was bugging me and why he didn’t tell he who he was going to see?

*Dan POV*

I watched as Liv walked into the bathroom, her top barely covering her gorgeous bum. The bottom of her blue french knickers just on show. I bit down on my lip as I watched her, I still couldn’t believe she was all mine.

I lay back down, resting my head on her pillow when I saw my phone light up. I reached over and picked it up.

I cleared the missed calls and opened up the messages.

[Dan please, I need you. I can’t do this on my own. X]

What the hell was she on about?

[Dan I need you to come round to mine now, please...x]

Tell me what? I opened the next message and nearly dropped my phone on my face.

*Liv POV*

I had a shower, taking my time in there before getting out, drying and moisturising myself. I got changed into my comfy grey trackie bottoms and a vest top. I dried my hair before putting it up in a scruffy bun, applying the basic of make-up before grabbing my woolly cardigan that i only wore inside the house. I found a pair of bright pink, fluffy bed socks and put them on. I grabbed my phone off the side and made my way downstairs. I made myself some tea and toast before curling up on the sofa putting on The Ugly Truth. I wanted to ring Dan to find out what was going on, but I didn’t. I was lay on the sofa watching...okay drooling over Gerard Butler when I heard voices coming down the stairs.

“, where’s Dan?” Evie asked walking into the kitchen.

“I have no idea.” I sigh, turning back towards the TV.

“What’s happened? You have a fight?” Luke asks coming over and sitting down, moving my feet.

I sat up and he wrapped his arms around me. “No we didn’t...I don’t think. But he rushed out of here before to see someone.”

“Who?”

“I don’t know...I think Amy.”

“His ex girlfriend Amy?”

“The one and the same.”

“Why?” Luke asked, squeezing me tight as Evie walked though carrying three cups of tea.

“Your guess would be as good as mine.” I sigh picking up my cup of tea.

“It won’t mean anything , I promise.” Evie says taking hold of my hands.

“I dunno...I just have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.”

*Dan POV*

I got into my car and drove to Amy’s house. I felt so bad for not telling Liv where I was going but I needed to speak to Amy first...I didn’t want to worry Liv over nothing?

I parked up just down the road from Amy’s house. I took a deep breath before getting out the car, locking it and walking down to her place that she shared with her sister Lindsay.

As I walked towards her front door I took my phone out my pocket, staring at the last message she sent me.

[Dan I’m pregnant. Nine weeks gone. I didn’t want to tell you like this but you needed to no. Please come and see me. We need to talk! X]

This couldn’t be happening.

I walked up to her door and knocked a couple of times before standing back waiting for someone to answer.

The door opened and it was Lindsay.

“Oh hey Dan...come in.” she smiled, moving at the way allowing me to enter.

I took another deep breath before walking in. “Where’s Amy?” I ask

“Bedroom.” She replied, I nodded and made my way up the stairs to her room.

I knocked on her door. “Come in.”

I walked in and saw Amy sat at her mirror straightening her hair. “Oh hi Dan.” She smiled at me.

“Err hi Amy.” I reply and go and sit on the chair she had in the corner of her room.

After a couple of minutes of silence she got up and sat down on her bed.

“I guess we need to talk.” She mumbled

“Yea...I guess we do.” I reply lifting my head up from looking at the floor

“I want to keep it Dan.”

“Do I have a choice in the matter?” I ask

“Well I’m not getting rid of it if that’s what you’re thinking.” She snapped at me

“Did I say that?”

“So what are we going to do?”

“What do you mean?” I ask twiddling my thumbs

“About our baby Dan.”

“Well I’m with Liv now.”

“Yea I know...but I was just thinking that...”

“That what? Now that you’re pregnant we would get back together?”

“Errr...maybe.”

“Well we’re not Amy. I am going to tell Liv about this and well...then I guess it’s up to her. But we are not getting back together. I don’t have feelings for you like that anymore, I will be there for our child but that will be it.”

“But what if Liv isn’t happy about you having a child with me?”

“I’m sure it’ll be a shock to her but I love her and she loves me. So I hope that she will support me through it....So how far along are you again?”

“Nine weeks gone.”

“We always used protection though.”

“Not always Dan...mistakes happen.”

“I guess they do.” I sighed getting my phone out.

“Put your phone away we need to talk.” Amy shouted at me and I sighed, sending my message before putting my phone away. Ready to face my future head on.

*Liv POV*

To take my mind off Dan being weird with me, me and Evie went shopping. I needed cheering up, plus we needed outfits for Evie and Luke’s engaErinent party on Saturday.

“Shall we get the girls out?” Evie asks as we park up in the car park.

“Yea, we need a proper catch up.” I grin

[Girls catch up in order...Nandos half an hour? xxx]

Within thirty seconds I had four replies from Ruby, Paige, Megan and Erin. [HELL YES!]

We went down the lift onto the top floor and had a quick look around H&M before walking to Nandos.

“Table for two ladies?” the waitress says as we walk in.

“Can we have a table for six please, our friends are on their way.” I smile back

“Course...this way.”

She takes us to a booth at the back and places our menu’s down.

I sent a message to the girls before placing my phone of the table. I was still surprised that Dan hadn’t text me to tell me where he was or when he was coming back.

Evie noticed I kept looking at my phone and looked at me. “Stop watching your phone.”

“I can’t help it...he hasn’t text me since he left this morning.”

“It’ll be nothing.”

“I hope so.” I sigh just as the girls walk in

“Hey hoe.” Paige laughed sitting down beside me.

“Hey” me and Liv smiled as everyone sat down.

We all shimmed round so we could fit in. We went up and placed our orders, got our re-fillible glasses of coke and came and sat back down.

“Okay so what is the emergency shopping and Nandos for?” Megan asked us.

I looked at Evie then back at the girls, “Nothing really. Just Dan being a bit weird with me but we do have a reason to shop.” I grin at Evie who was beaming.

“What? What?” they all shout at us

“What you’s doing Saturday night...party at our house.” Evie says to the girls who all nod.

“What the reason for the party?” Erin asked

“I’M ENGAGED!” Evie squealed holding up her hand to show the girls her engaErinent ring.

“Oh My God.” They all scream taking hold of her hand to get a closer look.

“Congratulations .” Ruby smiles hugging Evie over Megan

Our food came rather quickly and almost immediately eaten. I think we were all rather hungry.

We walked around a couple of shops, buying anything and everything. My mind was so distracted, all I kept thinking about was Dan and why he still hadn’t got in contact with me?

We said our goodbyes to the girls before heading back to the car with all our bags. Placing them into the boot before driving home. We were raving away to Jason Derulo then my phone went off in my handbag.

[Dan will be with me again soon...just you wait! Nothing will stop us now...especially not you! Amy]

I looked at Evie who was watching the road before looking back at my message. I exited it just as we pulled up onto the drive.

I helped Evie get all our bags out the boots as she unlocked the front door. I could hear them talking as I entered the house, and Dan’s head swung around. His eyes red and blood shot met mine. Something bad had happened...I knew it.

I ran up the stairs into my room, dropping my bags to the floor and collapsing onto my bed in floods of tears.

Why was love never simple?
