My hands were pushing him lightly as my eyes were trained at the couples around us watching their kids play around and my mind was plastered on yesterday's events
"did you try to talk to her?" the question finally was asked
"I did"
"when?"
"last night, you fell asleep on the couch at that time"
"and?"
"and what?"
"What happened dad?"
"I couldn't talk to her, your mom kept dodging me like I was some sort of bullet trying to kill her"
he was silent so I averted my gaze to him and found a wide smile plastered on his face
"you happy that I failed?"
"no"
"then? what's the meaning of that smile on your face buddy?"
"nothing...what are you planning to do"
"just try to find a good timing to talk to her"
"what if she dodges again"
"she will, that's why I have no choice but to keep pushing her and pestering her till she listens"
"Are you sure about that? I mean uncles and grandpa and grandma would be pissed if they know"
"your grandpa told me to do so"
"will it work?"
"We can only hope it does"
"th-" my phone rang interrupting us, I pulled it out from my pocket before my eyes widened at the name displayed on its screen
"Amanda?" I answered like an idiot, not believing it
I mean, for all I know, it could be some sort of maniac that kidnapped her and was now asking for money... I can't think of any other reason for her to call me...
"do you know where Louis is?! " she sounded somewhat frantic
"yeah, he is with me, is there something.." the call ended before I can finish my sentence and so I called her again

again
no answer
again!
no answer!!
"Louis we need to go back"
he stomped his small feet on the ground making the swing come to a halt before he turned to me "why?"
"you need to take your nap, then you need to help me fix dinner for all of us"
"whY?!" he whined
"thought you wanted to help me"
"fine!"
I kept calling her numerous times on the way back but...still no answer
I parked the car upon reaching and didn't fail to spot her car parked before I turned to Louis to tell him to go to the guest room and sleep but I found him already out of this world and in dreamland, so I picked him up, locked the car and unlocked the door with Amanda's father's key; that he gave me before he left, I walked in careful not to disturb his slumber but my foot managed to throw something that was laying on the ground
he tensed and moved a little making my breath hitch before he stopped and was back to sleep
I looked to what I threw and a familiar white phone greeted me....
that's Amanda's, what is it doing here? and where is she?
is that why she didn't answer her phone? 'cause it was laying there the whole time...
but the phone call ended mid-conversation and...she never leaves her phone away from her as some emergency can happen at work!
And here it is on the floor and by the entrance and she's nowhere close to it!!
I marched fast to the guest's room and laid Louis on the bed before I turned and left running to hers like a bullet that was shot to kill
and to my relief and horror, I found her in her room laying on her bed like nothing matters
