Joshua and I were looking at the two of them sitting in the living room rehearsing Aiden's script

"he was going to slit his throat a while ago and now they got close... just like that ?" Joshua was dumbfounded but not as much as I was.

I was thinking that my brother could be either bipolar or a psycho that is getting close to his victim waiting to attack

"leave it, what do you want to have for dinner ?" I asked turning around to check what we had in the fridge

"delivery" he muttered under his breath almost inaudible which made me turn to face him again, finding him fully glaring at the two of them still

"Joshua " I tried to get his attention but all he did was hum in response "josh!"

This time he turned to me startled but the problem is that I got the attention of the other two in the living room

"Just go to your room and work okay ?"

"what's wrong? "

"Nothing, just go and do something instead of staying here like a stupid block "

"Now I'm a stupid block, your ex hus-"

"Joshua please, you're making me uncomfortable more than anyone else "

"I wonder why ?" he got up from his chair and glared at me fully

"guys why are you two fighting? " Aiden came in a hurry worried of the state we were in

"you shut up and go back to where you were !" Joshua was too furious to contain

"josh, I'm sorry don-" I was about to cool him a down a little but I was interrupted

"no, hold on, what do you mean by that? this is my house the same way it is yours I have the right to be anywhere I want, and you can't talk to Amanda like that !"

"Who are you to tell me what to do and not to do? huh! who do you think you are? you befriended that jerk ! the same one who hurt Amanda and divorced her in a blink of an eye !!"

"SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU ! " they were still glaring at each other gritting their teeth and breathing hardly "GO TO YOUR ROOMS !"

"LET'S SEE WERE YOU ARE GOING WITH THIS !" Joshua yelled looking at the two of us then stormed out of the kitchen up to his room

"go to your room"

"Listen I didn't mean to-"

"I said go to your room Aiden!"

"I'm sorry " he muttered at the end before he turned and left.

I sat on the closest chair and tried to calm myself ...

Since someone was looking at me the whole time, making me want to burst in his face and drive him out of here

Why did he come and ruin it all ?! didn't he destroy enough parts of my life?

what was my dad thinking, bringing this man to our home?!

"Amanda" he called my name the moment he reached me after getting up from the sofa he was on in the living room witnessing the whole scene that took place

"don't talk to me " I turned my face away breathing harshly and burning up with anger at how frustrating this situation has become

"But I came to talk to you, we-"

I got up abruptly which took him off guard for a second and I used that as an opportunity to leave the scene just like that, refusing to have any interaction of any sort

I got up the stairs and went to my room opening the door slowly not to wake Louis from his nap but...

"Mommy? " he woke up the moment I closed my room's door

"go back to sleep, honey " I marched slowly towards him, laying down beside him and hugging him close to me

I closed my eyes trying to sleep and calm my mind but it was so hard to do that in this situation

"Mommy, why are you crying? " I felt his small hands wipe the tears I had coming down slowly staining my face

"Nothing I was just yawning, so let's just go to sleep now, okay?" I hugged him even closer to me and waited for sleep to take over my head and thoughts

I felt a caress on my cheek, first I thought it was Louis so I didn't open my eyes, but then it felt like the hand was bigger than the one of an eight years old child, so I freaked out, opening my eyes and moving away from that person's touch

"Did I scare you? "

I looked at the man in front of me with his puffy face and eyes

"Yeah, I didn't expect you here " I got closer and took a hold of the hand that was caressing my cheek "sorry Joshua "

"I should be the one to apologize though "

"I'm sorry for making you cry "

"Who said I did? "

"your puffy face and eyes .. you look hideous "

"gee, thank you dear sister " he smiled weakly at me

"what about Aiden? did you talk to him? "

"no, still, he locked his door "

"I should've locked my door " I muttered on purpose and he smacked my head with his free hand "aw, I'm your big sister, have some respect !"

"oh, really? what will you do if I don't ? " he pulled a pillow from the top of my bed and hit me with it, which made my hair cover my face and my eyes widen still not processing what just happened but I heard his low chuckle that slowly turned into a loud laughter

I tried to free my hand when he gripped it hard not to let me strike him back and that is how we started fighting, and laughing as if we weren't mad at each other a while ago

we were both on top of the bed, our hands and feet tangled, me trying to free my hands and have my revenge and him holding my hands as if his life depended on it .. which it did...

"Can I join ? " a voice startled the two of us as we whipped our heads to look at the door where we found Aiden standing there

I glanced at Joshua who was on top of me then back at him "what do you think you, idiot? COME HELP ME FREE MY HANDS! " I yelled at him before he came running, plunging himself on the bed beside us and striking Joshua with a pillow right to his face

"AH" we all stopped our movements when he yelled

Slowly moving his head to face Aiden, he looked murderous but in a teasing way

"you, my friend, are dead now !" his hold on my hands went loose and he lunged himself at Aiden tickling him, the room getting filled with their laughter

"I want to join !" Louis came in the room running to the wide arms of the two of them, where they held him and tickled him till he was out of breath

Looking at the three of them like that, was a dream come true ...but in extremely different circumstances then I imagined

"let's attack mommy " I heard Aiden say, which made me on full alert, the three of them looked like hyenas about to attack to which they did

"NO! WAIT !"

I was stuck in a second, sprawled on the bed with Louis on top of me tickling me and the two idiots holding my hands from each side, making running away almost impossible ..actually impossible

"so how come you and Henry got close so fast?" the three of us were sitting on the bed, facing each other with our feet crossed, Joshua was the first to talk after Louis left to stay with his dad in the guest's room

"I didn't want him to stay alone with Amanda in the house while I took Louis out so I asked him to go out with us "

"that.. we already know, the rest ?"

"We talked " Aiden eyed me before talking again "I can't really say anything now, you need to hear it from him "

"does it look like we will talk to him any time soon? " Joshua said with his eyebrows up in a bit of a taunting manner

"you should, it will clear so many things out "

We fell silent for a second there it was comfortable but also a bit suffocating

"so, what should we get for dinner?" I asked breaking the silence

"pizza, been so long since I had junk food and our parents aren't here so let's just go a little wild " Aiden was the one to get all excited when it came to food

"just a little cause we're still in the company of a doctor here " Joshua whispered loudly so I can hear it

"am I being outcasted now? "

"honey, no one forced you to become a doctor"

"and no one forced you two to become my brothers "

"well we are actually forced" Aiden said high fiving Joshua with a smirk of triumph
