"Don't you see? She's the one. The girl we have been waiting for. She has come to break the spell." - Beauty and the Beast

The flight to Italy went by faster than I had expected. Maybe it was the 5-hour nap I took or the book I got lost in, who knows. Multiple different websites and travel guides had helped me figure out what I wanted to do while I was here. There were so many things to see here along with all the foods I could try.

Most of all, I was excited to see my brother. Ricardo was going to be Zane's beta. Currently, he was in Italy at the original Blood Moon Pack Grounds, training. He's a big idiot but I haven't seen him in so long, he couldn't even make it to my birthday.

Our pack originated in Italy but most of the members moved to California and other parts of Europe over the years. Now, most Blood Moon members reside in California or somewhere on the west coast so that they can attend important pack meetings without necessarily staying on pack grounds. We still have pack members in Italy who still fall under our control but they are led by someone else. Though Alpha Gio is still their alpha and he actually spends a lot of time here.

"We have landed at Galileo Galilei International Airport! Enjoy Italia!"

I grab my carry-on and proceed to baggage claim. With a quick sniff of the air, I can smell that there are other werewolves present.

"Alessandra!" I turn my head looking to see who called me. Maybe they weren't even calling me, it's Italy my name is probably more common here.

"Alessandra Romano!" Ok, that's definitely me. I look around and my eyes find ones that look just like my sister's.

"Ricardo!" I run over to him, leaving my luggage behind, and wrap him in a hug. He's gotten taller and he was already 6 feet tall when I saw him last. He swings me around in his arms and squeezes me tight.

"There's my baby sister," he says. I'm only a couple of minutes younger than Isabel but I guess I'll always be the baby. He grabs my hand and leads me outside to a car. There are vendors outside the airport selling a variety of things from food to trinkets. I'm tempted to buy some of the delicious-smelling street food but I'm full from the airplane peanuts from my flight. Ricardo puts my luggage in the trunk, and we're off.

We make it to the packhouse fairly quickly and my jaw drops.

Beautiful.

In front of me is a castle, hidden by nature. I feel like I've been transported to the Italian Renaissance. The architecture is brilliant and it has got to be the most beautiful castle I have ever seen. Too bad no humans will get to see it since it's only able to be seen by supernaturals.

Wrapped around it are archways that hold statues of various people.

"Who are the statues depicting?" I ask Riccardo.

"The greatest alphas and lunas of the Luna Rossa Pack," he responds. I forgot that in Italy they still call our pack its Italian name.

One of the statues sticks out from the rest. While the others are made of marble, that one is made of gold. It stands taller than the rest as well and it looks familiar for some reason.

"Who's that?" I ask pointing at the statue in question. Riccardo looks at the statue with respect as he answers me.

"That's the greatest alpha the world has ever seen, Alpha Lorenzo Moretti." Riccardo continues to look at the statue in awe while I'm stuck trying to figure out who it reminds me of. Lorenzo appears to be in his mid-thirties which means he was probably around 80 years old.

"Moretti? I thought all of our alphas were De Lucas?"

"I thought that too, but the De Luca's became the alpha family when Alpha Lorenzo died with no heir."

Interesting.

"After he died, his sister succeeded him. She was mated to a De Luca and that's how that started."

"Wow, that's crazy."

"Before we go in, I have to tell you all the rules."

"Are they any different than back home?"

"A little. For starters, no boys."

I roll my eyes at that. It sounds like a Ricardo rule, not a pack rule.

"Go on."

"The only other rule is that you can not go into the west wing."

"Why?"

"No one but Alpha Lorenzo's sister has been in there after he and his family died. It's out of respect for him and his luna. Also, I've heard the place is creepy, it's probably haunted or something."

What is this, Beauty and the Beast?

The sun was setting and I wanted to go change so I could still get some exploring in. I continued to walk until I found the white marble path that led to the entrance of this gorgeous place. I looked up at the statue of Lorenzo one more time but this time it was...a woman?

"Riccardo! Where did the statue go?"

He laughed before he answered me.

"In the day we see the alphas, at night we see the lunas that ruled with them. At night when the moonlight hits the statues, they transform. The artist who made them was pretty talented. I guess it makes sense since the moon is a woman..." Riccardo continued to ramble on but my gaze was stuck on the woman in front of me.

But she wasn't just any woman, she was me.
