《Harriet Potter and the avengers》Chapter 55

Tom was having a very concerning time. As soon as Harriet was out of his sight he was already worrying. It only got worse as he got his shared diary with her and she didn't respond. He waited but even hours later there was no response. He tried to ignore the nagging feelings that something wasn't wrong. He had never felt this way and he didn't like it. He was desperately fighting his own urges to just lock her in a room or well mansion for protection.
He felt her though, she wanted her soulmates and he respected that but if they failed in protecting her he would have to take this responsibility for them. He couldn't believe that someone he was so desperate to kill he was now so desperate to protect.
He left it though and just continued his scheming and plans for the ministry. He remembered that list that Harriet sent him. She truly does love and is loyal to those that are there for her. He respects that. She should have been a Slytherin or a Hufflepuff.
After trying to distract himself he finally gives up and calls his inner circle to plan with them and despite trying to distract himself their conversation strays to Harriet. Severus was sad he missed her as he wanted to talk to his god daughter especially after what he put her through at school.
Tom while participating in the conversation was worried about Harriet, Narcissa thought it was sweet how he kept checking the diary for a response. Then he felt it, agonising pain as if he was being stabbed or shot. He looked up in alarm, panting. "Tom what's wrong?" Natasha asks panicked as the others turn to him in alarm.
"Harriet! Someone is hurting Harriet!" He shouts out as he realises it. The others look confused but Snape immediately understands. "Do we know where she is?" Snape asks as they shake their heads. They immediately start a search as Tom summons all his death eaters and send them on a hunt. 'Find Harriet alive and you get a reward better than life'

Tom glares as the hunt truly begins, He obviously can't trust those soulmates to protect his little Harriet. He would have to protect her himself.
(Don't worry I wouldn't leave it there.)
Harriet was laying on a bed in the medical room, the constant beeping of the heart monitor the only sign of life in the room as her breathing was barely there. The heroes were in and out of the room. Pietro was blaming himself no matter how much Wanda and Clint tried to make him not blame himself.
Bruce though felt even worse, he was desperate to see her open her eyes, she had to. She hadn't spoken to him yet. Her name wasn't on his wrists only the words. A week went by and then two and still no changes though even though her wounds were healing nicely she wasn't showing signs of waking up which made Strange angry at himself.
This was his decision after all, he could either let Pietro die or let Clint die or put Harriet in a Coma. Wanda and Loki saw this in his mind and were angry even though they knew his choices sucked. They felt bad for him and didn't tell the others as they were worried they might blame him. Strange blamed himself though as he couldn't see when she would wake up.
It was weeks later when she showed the first signs of waking up. Bruce wouldn't leave her side which annoyed the others even though they understood. As the doctor in charge of her care wouldn't allow more than one in the room at a time to allow her space and time to heal.
Harriet slowly started opening her eyes, blinking up at Bruce as he looked down at her. "Hey I've got you, your gonna be alright." Bruce says as Harriet slowly smiles at him before coughing as he then helped her drink some water. "Is everyone else ok?" Harriet asks as Bruce smiled as his wrist stung. He laughed a little. "Yeah everyone else is ok. Your almost fully healed." Bruce says.

"Wait how long have I been out?" Harriet asked in shock and slight panic. "Almost 2 months, Your healing is amazing." Bruce says. Harriet immediately starts to get up despite Bruce's protests. "What are you doing? You need to lay back down, you could hurt yourself more. I didn't say you were completely healed." Bruce says panicked.
"You don't understand. I need to write to Tom. If I don't he will come after me. Fuck he has probably already sent people for me." Harriet said in slight worry and concern. 'Maybe he won't care or hasn't noticed.' Harriet thinks hopefully though she doubted it. "Who's Tom and why does he matter so much? We can protect you, you know." Bruce says.
Loud padding footsteps approach the room as soulmates run towards them. Most of them pushing their way into the room. "Thank god your alright." Pietro Says, "I'm glad your ok." Wanda says, "Harriet how do you feel?" Loki Asks, "Lady Harriet I'm glad your awake." Thor says. Harriet smiles at them. "I feel fine," Harriet says as she attempts to inch off the bed and red and green magic hold her in place and then move her back to the centre of the bed and under the covers.
"Not a chance." Loki says, "I don't care how good you feel your not getting up till the doctor dismisses you." Wanda says fiercely. "But I need to get something from my house." Harriet says as she looks to Strange who gives her a curious look but says nothing. 'He knows something I don't.' Harriet thinks weakly.
The doctor comes soon after, having heard the loud commotion coming from her room. "What are you all doing in here?" She asks. Harriet notices her name tag 'Doctor Tanner'. "Your supposed to let her rest...Ahh your awake. I'm so glad your awake Miss Peverell. How are you feeling?" She asks.
"I actually feel really good and would like to get up now." Harriet says as she looks over at Wanda and Loki who avoid her gaze 'Innocently. Doctor Tanner looks at them and laughs slightly already guessing what happened. "Let me just check your vitals and stuff first." She says. Doctor Tanner checks all her vitals and her healing and everything. Afterwards she turns back to her patient and large amount of soulmates.
"Your healing well but Your vitals aren't great. Your breathing is a lot lower than I like. You need to rest more and I'll check on you later. If its good you can leave." Doctor tanner says with a smile at Harriet. She goes to argue but one look from her and she doesn't. Doctor Tanner reminds her of Madame Pomfrey.
"The rest of you need to leave to let her rest." Doctor Tanner says and then leads them all out except Loki. Green magic swirls around Harriet and she starts to feel almost heavy suddenly and she looks to Loki who gives her a sad face as she falls asleep again.
(Hope you all like the update. Don't expect them this fast again. Let me know what you think and what you want to happen next.)

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
