《Sugar Boo》23

After showering, I applied my usual body moisturizer, draped myself in a towel, and then walked out into the bedroom. My room was purposely dim, lit only by a small table lamp. The mixture of the street lights along with the moonlight sneaking through the curtains boosted the room's aesthetics.
My phone dinged on the desk. Its bluish light illuminating the study space. I reached for it just to see I had fifteen missed calls, twenty-two unread texts, and seven voice messages from Elle. I let out an obnoxious groan and put the device down.
Could it be that the girl is losing her mind?
It was no surprise Elle would spam me asking where's her boyfriend was as if I have a GPS tracker and would know his whereabouts all the time. This has always happened every time they got into some heated arguments which ended up with Ethan being M.I.A for a couple of hours.
I had no intention to come off as inconsiderate to my best friends but you see, I already had a lot on my plate. Plus, their quarrel usually didn't even last very long which was why I thought I needed to sit this one out.
I pulled out a pair of plaid pajama pants from the bottom drawer of the dresser and loosened the towel around my waist, letting it drop to the floor. One good thing about less lighting in my bedroom, it's probably too dark for the neighbors to see into it when I'm naked.
I slid into the pants without worry and picked up the damp towel, rolled it into a ball then proceeded to score a perfect shot into the laundry basket. It wasn't a big deal yet silly me just needed to celebrate it for some reason, meaning by doing an awkward, self-choreographed victory dance.
A peculiar silhouette of a man sitting on top of my bed stopped me dead in my track and forced me to do a double-take. I rubbed my eyes, intent on ensuring hallucination was the only sensible explanation for this.
Oh boy, it was indeed a male human, and consequently, like a rumble of sudden thunder, I screamed. I was as startled as him with my own fearful cry to which he leaped out of the bed and rushed over to where I stand in no time.

"Hey, hey. It's okay, it's me," he spoke to me in a whisper trying to calm me.
The man's voice floated through my ear and steadied my heartbeat. He was mostly unseen in the dim lighting of the room in the beginning but soon as he came closer, the silvery moonlight outside bathed his features for me to take in his face.
The greenest of green eyes with long lashes staring down at me, high cheekbones that could carve an ice sculpture, pointed sharp nose, juicy pink lips — which was sort of outstanding for a white boy — to outline his radiant smile. A warm and fuzzy feeling took over me and I had an epiphany — he's the most beautiful boy I have ever seen.
I did everything I had to not touch Ethan's face. It's not like I didn't have a constant need to touch it, believe me, I want to, but now is not the right time. On a second thought, I believe it's the time for him to taste the wrath of none other than yours truly.
I damn near shit my pants in shock because of him and yet he dared to greet me with that smile? Unbelievable.
I initiated the first blow on his shoulder and the boy proceeded to release a half-suppressed laugh. A little annoyed because the dude felt no pain whatsoever, I delivered more punches, though, he managed to bat my hands away each time with ease.
There's no way he just blocked and dodged all of my charges while laughing. "Come on, let me hit you," I groaned.
He smirked slightly. "It's not my fault your punches tickle."
"You better take that back or I will rain hellfire," I said, offended by his teasing.
"I'm real terrified, Andy. You've really got me quivering here," Ethan let out a little snort.
"I'm being serious, you idiot," I grumbled like a toddler while fighting a demure smile which threatened to form.
"What's with the pre-pubescent 12 years old scream, Drewfus?" My sister called out while banging on the bedroom door.
Impulsively, I shushed Ethan with a finger to his lips eliciting a surprised whine from him. Following our silence, Olivia continued to repeat the action only this time her voice sounded a little worried.

"Hello, Andrew, did you die of basicness? What happened to you?" she asked.
"I'm fine. I saw a roach," I lied confidently.
Olivia cracked up. "Why the fuck you got a roach in your room, nasty ass?"
"Sis, you have a pile of dirty clothes and shoes under your bed so, mind your words," I countered.
"Why are you in a woman's business?" she yelled back.
Olivia mumbled incoherent words as her voice grew fainter, followed by the sound of a door being slammed shut.
Ethan breathed a long sigh of relief before he chuckled. "Damn, I didn't know you had it in you, Andy. You just sent Olivia to her room."
"Sometimes you have to adapt to the opponent because they are just better than you and sometimes you can make the opponent adapt," I told him.
He ruffled my wet hair. "Fair enough."
"Just so you know, my sister is obsessed with you," I added.
"I knew that. What about the other sibling?" he boasted with a smirk.
I looked over at Ethan to catch a glint of mischief in his eyes which were fixated on my bare torso. Out of an overwhelming feeling of shyness, I pushed past him and went to put on a t-shirt.
"When did you come?" I attempted to sound nonchalant though my heart was pulsating.
"Not long ago," he announced, taking a seat on my personal haven again. "Your mom said you're in the shower so I decided to chill here"
At that, the hairs on my skin stood on end. "That means you've been here all this time while I'm showering."
Ethan threw me a deadpanned look. "Yeah, that's what I just told you."
"Oh, God!" I gaped at him.
"What's wrong?" he asked me, looking worried.
"I'm so embarrassed," I told him truthfully. "I wish the earth would crack open and swallow me whole."
I knew it wasn't directly his fault, but Ethan has really seen me butt naked with my peen flopping around freely, witnessed me performing an awkward dance, and not to mention, he was here during my live concert show in the shower which was supposed to be for my imaginary audiences.
"We're both guys. Nothing to be ashamed about and you've seen me naked before," Ethan assured me.
The image of his perfect, round muscle butt came to mind unannounced forcing me to shake my head once I could feel my face getting warmer. "Can we do other things instead of talking about this?"
"Sure, get your butt over here. I want a huggie," he patted the free space beside him on the bed.
I instantly obliged and did as he had commanded. I sat down and Ethan naturally put my arm around his waist. He later shifted closer and had his arm wrapped around my shoulders. My heart did a summersault; it didn't stop me from leaning against him though. He's the squishiest bean stuck in a hunk body.
My best friend wanted to be comforted, who was I to deny it? Whenever he wanted to cuddle, no matter how I was feeling, I gave it to him. Also, it made me feel better as well anyway.
"Elle has been blowing up my phone asking for you," I spoke softly. "What's going on?"
I could feel his whole body tensing. "We had a small fight that's all," he claimed.
"I feel like you and I have a very different definition of 'small', Ethan." A laugh escaped me.
He cleared his throat. "She's angry after I refused to be her date to a fundraiser."
"So, you ghosted her?" I glanced up at his face. "Not a bright idea there, buddy."
Sadly, my thoughtless answer led to his expression morphing into slight anger and annoyance.
"I'm here to clear my head, Andy. Maybe I made a mistake coming," Ethan nearly snarled as he fought to keep his cool.
He dropped his arm from my shoulders and wanted to get up but I pulled him back down again. "No, please stay." I pleaded, tightening my hold on his waist.
"You wanna throw that sass at me again?" he muttered with a pointed look.
"I'm sorry." I rubbed Ethan's back soothingly. "Let's do something to get your mind off this."
"I have an idea." Ethan smirked smugly, plunging a hand deep into his jacket's pocket before taking out a rolled joint.
