《Sugar Boo》2

It was late by the time we arrived at school, and we only had a few minutes before the first bell rang. Ethan pulled into a parking space under a shade of a linden tree. Thanks to his privilege of being a student-athlete, our time wouldn't be wasted on finding a place since he got an assigned parking spot for himself.

After turning the Jeep engine off, Ethan swiftly twisted his upper body to face me and I had to detain myself from stepping out because I actually thought he was finally willing to open up the reason for his moodiness before. Instead, he just focused solely on the black shirt that I was wearing. My curiosity only grew as I concentrated on his pink lips, waiting for the words that would come out.

"Is that cum?" he asked playfully, throwing a smirk my way.

My breath hitched. "What?"

Ethan pointed at the neckline of my shirt. "Did you jack off before coming here?"

A heartfelt, deep laugh escaped him. My eyes widened in surprise. I ran my fingers along the area below my neck and they came in contact with some white, sticky stuff -- Olivia's yogurt.

"No, it's something else." I looked at him in embarrassment that I was sure was radiating off of my face.

The corner of his eyes -- can I also just quickly mention the fact that he has such long and gorgeous lashes? Thank you -- got crinkled up and his razor-edged cheekbones rose high in response as he smiled. "It better be," Ethan said jokingly.

I reached out for the tissue dispenser which was mounted to the sun visor of his Jeep and pulled the tissues out to wipe my sister's mess off. The white excess was gone but the stain was still there. Apparently, it needed a proper cleaning to be removed.

"You have some-"

I might have pulled off the quickest flinch in my entire life when out of the blue, Ethan's body leaned over towards mine, resulting in me to widen my eyes and him to arch his eyebrows.

"Relax, Andy. I just want to get that eyelash off your cheek," he assured with a small laugh.

I wanted nothing more than to stick my head into my backpack. Way to go to make yourself more embarrassed, Andy. I mentally screamed.

"May I?" The look of seeking approval on Ethan's face compelled me to bob my head in a slight nod.

He went to place his hand on the side of my face while his thumb stroking the skin under my eye lightly. Throughout the time that he was fixating his attention on my face, I couldn't decide where to look; so, I ended up staring at the silver chain hanging delicately across his attractive neck.

Attractive neck? That was weird. Where the hell did that come from?

"Got it." Ethan held the tiny hair on the tip of his finger, mere inches from my face. "Make a wish."

"I don't believe in shit like that. Eyelashes don't grant wishes," I said back, unconvinced.

"You don't know that," he instantly replied. "Come on, just for fun."

"Fine." I gave in, sighing heavily.

I closed my eyes, wishing for something I knew that's never going to happen and blew it. And if he happened to ask me about what I wish for and think that I would tell him then he was dead wrong. I wouldn't say a thing, even if he got down to his knees begging.

My eyes flew open the moment Ethan unlocked his Jeep and got out, slamming its door behind him. I was utterly befuddled as he began striding towards the school entrance, slinging his backpack with one strap on one shoulder.

Jokes on you, Andrew. He definitely had no interest to know. Ethan's sudden move really left me perplexed in his Jeep but I quickly got over it and followed suit.

"Let's hang out again this evening. I'll come to pick you after practice," Ethan said to me when we were walking down the hallway.

It was Monday morning and the path was crowded with hordes of slow walkers.

"Your house?" I inquired, hopeful yet unsure.

Ethan shook his head. "Steve's."

I breathed a silent sighed. The fact that we just spend our weekend at his friend's house bothered me. I couldn't blame him of course. Ethan was always a sucker for video games and Steve owned loads of them.

"His parents are still on vacation?"

"They've decided to extend their holiday by one more week," he explained while exchanging quick nods with a student passing by.

"Is Kaleb going to be there?" It was almost impossible to roll the name off my tongue.

Ethan suddenly halted his walk and turned to look at me. He knew how I felt about Kaleb. "He's our friend. Of course, he's going to be there," Ethan teasingly said.

I scoffed, annoyed by his choice of word. "He is your friend, Ethan, and if Kaleb is going to be there then I'm sorry, I'm not stepping into that house."

A smile crept onto his lips as he snaked his hand behind my neck. "For a guy, you're a little dramatic. Kaleb is just an ass who likes messing around with people," he told me, rubbing his hand in slow circles on my back.

I shrugged his hand away and crossed my arms over my chest. "I don't see him messing with you."

Ethan exhaled frustration. "If he disturbs you again I'll kick him out."

A feeling of relief washed over me the instant he said that. "Wait, that sounds nice. You'd do that for me?"

Ethan burst out laughing and threw his head back. "I'm only kidding, Andy. To start a beef with him isn't good for our team. You know I can't do that."

Another example of Ethan showing how good a QB and Captain he was. I wasn't a sports person but I understood what he meant. As a leader, he was supposed to set a good example to his other teammates instead of brawling with Kaleb, the wide receiver of our school's football team. The realization upset me a bit, prompting me to look down at the floor.

Noticing my sudden change of attitude, Ethan went to ruffle my hair. "Hands off my hair, Ethan!" I exclaimed, angrily, stepping away from him, but he just laughed.

I wasted so much time styling my hair this morning only to get him to transform it into a mess. It looked like I have been wrestling with a dog. He, out of all people should have known that I took my hairstyle seriously.

As soon as his laughter ceased, he spoke. "I can't help myself. Your hair looks super fluffy and one hundred times better than mine."

Ignoring him, I continued to walk through the hall, trying to hold in a smile that threatened to form on my mouth. It was not long until Ethan jogged to my side, unleashing a low chuckle. "So, are you tagging along?"

"No," I answered shortly.

"But Andy, I need you there. What if I get bored?" Something in his pleading voice told me he was indeed being honest but, I preferred to save my ass from Kaleb first.

"Not my problem." I stood by my decision. Why would he want me there anyway?

"Don't make me force you," Ethan warned me as he grabbed my arm to stop me from where I was standing. His green eyes conveyed how serious he was. It startled me but I managed to mask it with a frown.

"Do it, Ethan," I provoked. "Show me how -" before I could finish the sentence he picked me off the floor by the waist and held me against the wall.

All eyes were immediately diverted towards us, following his crazy act. Both Ethan and I laughed out laugh and watching the crowd priceless reaction only made us laugh harder. My cheeks eventually started to heat up when some of the students stopped to stare in a weird way and whisper to each other.

"Okay! Ethan, okay! I'll go with you just put me down," I begged him yet he only shook his head and grinned.

"Hey, pick on someone your own size, bully." Ethan and I averted our attention to the source of the feminine voice that belonged to my friend Elle.

"Thank God you're here. Help me, Elle!" I exclaimed to her with an appreciative smile.

She glared at Ethan while she strutted her way towards us. The size of Elle's slim frame compared to Ethan's was ridiculous when she stood next to the boy -- his arm on its own was nearly the size of her body. Her doe green eyes held his for a second before Ethan's gaze slid down to her white shirt with the two top buttons left unbuttoned then down, lower to her above-knee grey skirt.

"My eyes are up here, Ethan Cushing," she reminded him and he voiced out an apology with a smirk. It was his second nature around girls at this point.

"You try to save Andy from me? What you gonna do, gorgeous?" Ethan smiled smugly at the light blonde-haired girl.

"Oh, I think you know." Elle looked at him with a blank expression.

Ethan laughed as he raised me up higher inducing a short scream to tear from my throat. "Please do enlighten me," he said.

"You aren't getting the thing you want most from me," she replied, sounding irked, and with that Ethan directly released his grip on me. Luckily, I landed on my foot.

"No, no, no, baby I'm just playing with you." He placed his hands on her shoulders, his eyes boring into her at the same time. It wasn't long until Elle mirrored his smug smile.

"Please give me my morning kiss, babe." Ethan rested his forehand on hers.

The next thing they did was to collapse their lips against each other, neck grabbing, body pulling, and other romantic shit a couple would do. After they were done with their daily greeting ritual, both Ethan and Elle turned their kiss-flushed faces to me. I rolled my eyes and the two only smiled back sheepishly.

Despite my prior response to them kissing, I was greatly pleased that my childhood friend, Ethan Cushing was dating my school girl best friend. They were a perfect match.

No doubt.
