《ʜɪꜱ ɢᴏʟᴅᴇɴ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ~ᴍɪᴅᴀꜱ x ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ~》~Their Golden Hearts~

Y/N was escorted to The Grotto, her eyes clouded with pain and worry. Her consciousness was slowly drifting away as the purple fluids rushed through her veins.
"Midas...please get her out of there" Jules said as she locked the lever in place, making the large machine whir to life. "I need to give her a real apology...". She tightened a bolt with her wrench, confirming it was ready to be turned on.
A large group of agents slid down the circular openings that rested on the top of The Grotto, releasing their grapples after reaching the ground. Each of them whipped out their weapons, ready to battle. The Shadow henchmen looked around confused with the sudden ambush.
"Hold your fire!" Sorana shouted. A pair of doors slid open revealing her with a burst assault rifle in hand. She stepped up rather confidently.
"We need Midas and only Midas! Fire at us and we'll glady shoot back"
Midas stepped forward on the helicopter pad, looking down on her. Like a king with means to banish her from the land.
Jules began to press buttons on the machine "Please work...Please..." she finalized the powering process. Pressing a large red button to confirm that it started working. It began to rise to the ceiling and eventually locked in place, ready to break through the building at any moment.
Midas followed Sorana into the command room. Seeing Chaos Agent, Rue, Remedy and...y/n. His love had purple streaks under her eyes and an emotionless expression. Midas' heart sank at the realization that she wasn't herself anymore.
"You see Midas, we live in a world where power comes before freedom. Those with power are seen as already being free, they buy through battles, get people to work for themselves, they don't even need to fight on their own" Rue explained. "But, what about those who are powerless...? Are they considered weak? Do they even get freedom? Well the answer Midas...is No. The powerless must fight for their freedom and that's we strive to do. Corruption is power! Fueled by the darkness that powers it all! You've always got what you wanted...now it's our turn for the spotlight."
"Give up yourself and we will let y/n and your agents leave the Grotto"
"Safely?" Midas questions. Chaos Agent and Rue exchanged glances but, then nodded at him.
"Safely" She echoed.
Midas unlatched his helmet and glanced at his gloved hand. Lending his hand to Rue, she took it and happily shook it...
Sorana turned around towards a command panel and spoke through and intercom.
"All Shadow and Ghost agents, Midas has turned over his role as Ghost Agency's leader. All agents are to back down"
Midas placed his helmet back on taking a glance at Y/n's possessed body before returning outside to be greet Maya.
"Midas..? What are you?-" She was confused and almost angry.
"Jules. She said she had something planned. Make sure everyone is prepared to run". Midas whispered before walking back up to the helicopter pad.

"Midas...i can't find Skye"
Midas heard her but his gaze focused on the holes that shaped a skull in the grotto's side. As he watched the storm close in. Maya quickly realized what was happening.
"Agents!" Midas yelled but then turned to Rue who stood near him. "Shadow will be no more!"
With his swift movement, using his hand he grabbed Rue's wrist which was ungloved, creating a small patch of gold on her skin.
She gasped as though she was offended and she jumped back.
Midas quickly returned to the helicopter pad.
"Look alive!" Maya shouted and everyone fled. No one knew it but Maya silently prayed that Skye was already there.
Many E.G.O and Ghost Agents fled. Firing at their enemies, as they tried to save themselves from the storm. They have quite the ways to go.
Midas and Maya hopped into a chopper getting to the agency in no time. Gun fire spread over the hills as Shadow henchmen shot Ghost agents, some falling but attempting to continue their retreat. Others would carry their fallen teammates on their backs as the storm ran at their heels.
Midas bolted into The Agency and quickly went to the basement where he met Jules. She couldn't help but hug him despite having his heavy armor on.
"C'mon Cyclo, let's get rid of these false agents" Jules brushed a tear from her face as Midas picked up the intercom and began to warn anyone that was in or near the building to evacuate.
The Agents were almost there, they kept fighting even though their energy was short. Many agents were able to make it back into their choppers and snipe from the hills. But they were still losing...
Jules pressed the red button a second time, giving her and Midas a total of 30 seconds to leave the building. Once they escaped 5 pillars slithered out of the water that surrounded The Agency soon the roof crumbled open and a large sphere similar to Midas' helmet rose into the air. Jules and Midas watched the scattered people fall and fall. Where must y/n be?
The Sphere started to glow. It's strange wavelengths of light moved around. A streak of lightning stretched from the sphere and to each pillar before everyone's vison seemed to go blurry. The storm started getting pushed back and rather quickly but with an odd clanking sound the device suddenly stopped and the storm sank back in but faster. The purple clouds covered the moonlight.
"No!" Jules screamed. She sprinted into the ruins jumping over debris, as the purple rain stung her skin. She returned to the basement. It was the wires she told Tek to not fix. She knew it was exactly what caused it to stop, because at first she wanted it to. She was bad at first she had bad intentions, but not anymore. She climbed the machine with a screwdriver in hand and began to pull the panel open maneuvering the wires. The Device returned to life but this time it had more energy. It pushed the storm back and flashed a large beam into the sky. Everyone blinked their eyes repeatedly at the white surrounding their vision.

Soon the night sky returned and everyone's gaze followed The Device as it sank back into the ground.
Midas ran to retrieve his sister only to find her sitting against a wall with a weak smile.
"We did it" She huffed. Midas finally lifted his helmet and threw it to the ground.
"For having quite an appealing suit it was rather useless" He smiled.
"Yeah yeah..." Jules hopped up in fear "Y/N!" She ran around the building and looked at the fresh battleground. A few medics tended to the weakened Ghost agents but there was no sight of Shadow's leaders or y/n. Midas frowned.
"Midas, come in" Maya buzzed through the ear piece.
"What is our status agent?" I ask.
"Thank god you're okay...Everything is just fine. Remedy and her team are helping people out on the fields. But good news is that the device definitely worked. A ton of Shadow copies are finally back to themselves. We're gonna have a lot of work to d-" She was cut off. Midas felt himself fall to the ground as someone kicked him in the back.
"You damn traitor!" Sorana growled at Jules. She pointed a gun at Jules while Chaos Agent stood next to her, his mask was in pieces, barely covering his face.
"How'd you pull all of this off!?" Chaos Agent retorted.
Jules tossed her wrench into Sorana's hip, dropping her gun.
Jules grabbed Midas' ear piece. "Maya! We need help over at The Agency!" She fell back as Chaos lunged at her. Sorana stood up and put her foot on Midas' back as he tried to get up.
Sorana picked up her gun and pointed it at Jules.
"Legends never die, eh?" She smirked. Before Sorana could shoot, a strange explosive bullet struck her hand. Making everyone look up, and to everyone's surprise it was TnTina, Skye, Brutus and Meowscles. Standing in the debris. Maya and a group of agents approached, pointing their guns in the direction of the two Shadow leaders.
"Hi Maya!" Skye waved cheerfully to her. Maya gasped at the sound of Skye's voice, she looked up and saw each of her friends standing above them. TnTina and Brutus were still wearing Shadow clothing but they were finally back on her side.
"Y-you guys are back!" Maya grinned. The other agents hand cuffed Sorana and The Chaos Agent and fortunately took them to the newly built prison at The Shark.
Midas and Jules were helped up and Skye, TnTina, Brutus and Meowscles came down.
"We need to find y/n.." Midas mumbled.
"She wasn't with Chaos or Sorana...so Rue..." Jules added.
"Lets split up and l-"
"There! In the rubble!" Skye pointed. Everyone looked back at the ruins of their old home, watching Rue drag the weak body of Y/N. It appeared as though she was going to throw her down...
"Rue no!" Jules cried. Everyone crawled through the remains.
"Y/n get up!" Skye yelled.
"I'm n-numb..." She whispers though they couldn't hear her. "I can't"
"That's enough Rue" Maya reaches her, pulling out a pair of handcuffs.
"No...I mustn't" Rue says fearfully. She carefully lets go of Y/N but steps backwards as Maya approaches her.
"Can you move yet Y/N?" Maya asks still keeping her sight on Rue.
"Barely.." Y/n mumbles back.
"Take your time" Maya says. Rue scoots farther back suddenly slipping off the edge but y/n was fast enough to grab Rue's wrist. Maya quickly pulls Rue back up allowing Y/N to let go.
Midas scoops up Y/N and carries her bridal style. Even though she was still very numb she was able to wrap her arms around him. "You're okay" She mumbles with a smile.
Midas simply rests his forehead on hers. "It's indescribable how much I missed you, Y/N"
Everyone climbs back down to safety. Rue was successfully arrested and the island was finally... peaceful.
"Y/n!" TnTina and Skye charge at her giving her a tight hug.
"Thank goodness you two are okay!" Y/n returns the hug with a bit more strength. "I missed you guys so much".
Y/N finally fully regains her strength, and helps prepare a campfire and enough slurp juice for all of the agents. TnTina brought out a boom box and started quietly playing the radio.
"I'm glad you're back" Maya smiles giving Y/N a side hug.
"Glad to be back" Y/N takes a sip of her drink when her name randomly is called. She looks around and notices Jules near her.
"I wanted to say sorry for everything...I-"
"Thank you Jules"
"Huh-?"
"You built that device to get rid of the Shadow copies...and in the end you helped save me...so thank you Jules" Y/N approaches her lending out her hand "C'mon lets go celebrate!" Jules takes y/n's hand and they walk over to the campfire where Midas was giving a speech.
"I just wanted to thank each of you for fighting with hope today. Thank you medics for helping heal. Thank you agents for fighting for the agency. Thank you Jules for helping creating the device...and lastly thank you everyone for being a part of Ghost..."
The crowd cheered, clapping hands, giving hugs, sharing high-fives and all the sorts.
Y/n left Jules with Tntina and Skye who greeted her as though she was a longtime friend.
The boombox started playing a familiar tune and all Y/N could do was sing the lyrics. She stood next to Midas and happily took his hand.
Everyone slowly started to tag along and soon all the Ghost agents were singing in the morning moonlight. Together.
Thank you everyone for reading this story. I'm really glad that so many of you enjoyed it. I really appreciate all of the insane support I have been given, you guys are seriously the best. Thank you so much!

Their next job lands the mother-daughter team in Hellhole, a small town in the middle of nowhere. All they need to do is their job. For Mom to identify the problem, and for Ellen to... fix it. Easy. Simple. But not this time. The pair find themselves caught in the struggle between the Man-in-White and the Wicked Witch of the West. A mysterious image and the theft of a deadly flower lead the pair to a score of dead prisoners, magical drug dealers, and red-eyed assassins falling from the sky. And somehow it all seems to be related to Ellen's murky past. All Ellen wants to do is do her homework, eat ice cream, and protect her newfound friends (not necessarily in that order). She'll go all-in, guns blazing. But when the smoke clears there may be nothing left but a stranger's past and a lonely future. --- 'Kind's Kiss' is a light, modern-day fantasy, easy on the magic, heavy on the snark. Though complete it is still a work in progress. One reviewer described it as 'Buffy meets Sabrina, as done by Tarantino'. I'm still not sure if I should consider that a compliment or hire a hitman :-)
