《Fortnite: The Great Flood》Chapter 6: The Authority (Part 2)

"Honestly, Skye, what is wrong with you? Do you want to die or something?!" Jules hissed.
She yanked off her skull mask so Skye and the others could see her face.
"I-I'm sorry. We just came to see if you were OK," Skye stuttered.
"Well, I was doing just fine before you got here. Who else did you bring along this time?"
Ollie, TnTina and Ocean tentatively removed their masks and looked guiltily at Jules. Jules motioned to strangle Skye, then just flopped her arms down by her sided.
And, to the other's surprise, she began to laugh.
"What's the point? You'll just come back again next time anyway. How are you guys doing?" she sighed.
"Well, we were doing just fine before you got here," TnTina exaggerated Jules' comment.
"Oh, stop it. I'm actually glad you're here; I think I found out some classified Shadow information. The man Chaos Agent sent to keep an eye on me was more interested in making friends than doing his job, so I was able to worm some information out of him."
"What information?" Skye asked.
"I need Midas to decide whether it is safe for your viewing. I've packed all the things I gathered into this memory stick. I need you to get it to Midas. Now. Please?"
"Sure. OK."
"Good. Now I'll be going back to what I was doing."
"OK. See you soon."
"See ya."
Jules smiled, slipped on her mask, and was gone.
Skye, Ollie, TnTina and Ocean stood there blankly for a moment, Skye gripping the memory stick in her fingertips loosely.
"Well, there's no time to lose," Ollie shrugged, looking to the others for confirmation.
They all slipped their disguises' masks back on and hurried out of the door...
...And straight into a woman in a red dress and a matching red beret.
The woman goggled at them as if she had just seen an impossible trick performed perfectly, then she composed herself and straightened her figure.
"Are you people supposed to be here?" she asked them. She had a strong French accent, and for a moment Skye thought that she must've come from one of those memes where some character is photoshopped in front of the Eiffel Tower with a baguette and a moustache to accordion music.
"We were just grabbing some supplies, but they weren't in there," Ocean lied.
"So you're free? I'm sure you don't need four people to get supplies. Could two of come with me to help me out? I'll put in a good word for you. You two."
She pointed at Ollie and Ocean, who exchanged looks nervously. They went to follow the Shadow boss reluctantly without looking back - only at each other.

"Thanks. I could use a hand," the woman said before swiveling around and walking away with pronounced steps. Ollie and Ocean left with her with more nervous footing.
Skye bit her lip and looked over at TnTina, who stared straight back at her.
"Just our luck," TnTina sighed, shaking her head.
Jules checked her watch and realised that it was lunch time, so she went over to where The Agency's cafeteria was, assuming that the new cafeteria was in the same place. She knew she was right when she saw a line of Shadow henchmen snaking out of the double doors.
Jules was suddenly thankful that Shadow agents could skip to the front of the queue when she slotted herself in front of an irritated Shadow henchman. She was not waiting an hour or so for this sorry excuse for lasagna.
Rue and Omega waved her down and she ran as fast as someone carrying sad lasagna could go to them. Rue was accompanied by two henchmen who loomed at Jules as if they wanted to ask her something, but they did not.
They want help, Jules thought, even though the idea was ludicrous.
"Sorry to keep you guys waiting," Jules giggled exhaustedly.
"It's OK. I was running late, too, and good job, since I found these two! Hey, I said I'd put in a good word for you and I can't do that without your names. Who are you?" Rue asked her two henchmen accomplices.
"Uh... Max," Jules heard one henchman say in Ollie's distinctive voice.
"I'm Lola," The other said in Ocean's voice.
They need help! Jules thought again, this time with more purpose. But how much her thoughts helped said purpose was up for debate.
Ollie and Ocean exchanged looks, then looked at Jules nervously. Only Jules saw, since Rue had her back to them, and Omega was too engrossed in his, well, gross lasagna.
Jules nodded at Ollie and Ocean, making a silent promise, then turned back towards her friends as if all things were right in the world.
"We should go after them!" Skye suggested, although really it wasn't a choice.
"We can't just go after them. They'll wonder what we're doing," TnTina huffed.
"True. We need eyes on them, though."
"Of course we do. Any ideas?"
There was a pause.
"Uhhh... CCTV?" Skye said at last.
"Bingo!" TnTina cheered.
"Yay! Well, we can't waste time! Let's go!"
Skye and TnTina hurried through The Authority's corridors to where they expected CCTV to be. There were some computers by the vault, but they only showed the wall around The Authority. In other words, not helpful.
So, in the meantime, they went to The Agency's CCTV location that they remembered...

Which had been turned into a bathroom.
A confused Shadow henchman appeared from behind the door and looked at the agents, shaking his hands dry.
"You do realise that this is the boy's toilets, don't you?" he wondered.
"Yeah... it's just... we took a wrong turn. Do you know where CCTV is?" Skye asked casually.
"Upstairs, second door on the left."
"Thanks."
Skye grabbed TnTina and dragged her to where the security room was. Not many henchmen were up here, unlike at the ground floor.
"There it is!" TnTina whispered, despite there being no people to hear them.
Skye grabbed the handle, then immediately pulled her hand back like it had been burnt.
"What's wrong?" TnTina asked her in alarm.
"Ladies first!" Skye grinned nervously.
"But you're a lady."
"People with TnT in their name first!"
TnTina rolled her eyes and opened the door casually.
"See? Nothing!"
But there was something.
Although the room was empty of people, a large table in the middle of the room was surrounded by computer screens showing parts of The Authority. The table's hologram was of a small-scale model of the Zero Point, with its cracks and all.
"What the heck is that...?" TnTina said, having now seen the Zero Point hologram.
"I... don't know," Skye lied. She hoped that TnTina didn't notice the lie. It was an awful cover story, the worst she could have come up with, but the best she could in the moment.
"The Zero Point is a celestial being that is known to control the rifts. The rifts have the ability to teleport people through space, time and through universes if done correctly, but can lead to death if not. Whether the Zero Point is a moon, a star, a universe itself or maybe, as some speculate, an egg housing a dangerous creature, is not currently known. This information is classified between Shadow, IO and..." TnTina read, but whatever came next caused her to stop.
She had a horrified expression on her face, and she obliged Skye to come over and look. And Skye, too was horrified.
...and that Ghost agent, Skye.
Skye smiled guiltily at TnTina, who looked like she didn't believe her eyes.
"I can explain," Skye giggled with nerves.
Whose idea was it to put a helicopter pad several stories up from the ground? Ollie thought as he looked over the barrier of the walkway to the ground below.
It turned out that the French lady, Rue, wanted to pack up a Choppa to go run an errand in the mainland. There was no way Ollie and Ocean could go with her.
But, luckily for them, Ollie had thought of two ways to escape. One was by pushing Rue off of the platform and escaping on the Choppa to The Fortilla, and the other was to jump off of the platform themselves and into the river next to the dam, pretending it was an "accident".
But, either way, they had to do it now.
Skye and TnTina were likely getting the memory stick out of The Authority now, so if Ollie and Ocean escaped, then they could follow later.
Ollie tried to call Skye, but she didn't pick up. Instead, he sent her a text that summed things up.
Hey, Skye. Me and Ocean are getting out of here, but we have to do it now. Good luck getting out yourselves, we'll see you at The Fortilla, OK? See you then :)
Good. Now to escape.
"Ocean?" Ollie said so he was barely whispering.
"Yeah?" She replied in the sane tone.
"Follow my lead."
Ollie went around the Choppa and looked down at the river at the floor.
"You may want to get away from there," Rue told the agents while starting the engine.
"Just looking at the drop. Don't want to fall, do we-!"
Ollie overexaggerated a losing-balance motion and fell, making sure to kick off from the side so he would actually make it to the river. It appeared Ocean shouted something in dismay and tried to reach for Ollie; falling too.
There was a few seconds where Ollie and Ocean skydived. The air rushed against them, giving them a chill despite the beating sun.
With a loud splash, they landed in the river, and they were immediately bombarded by Shadow henchmen.
"Are you two OK?!"
"Are you hurt?"
"I'm trained in first aid!"
"Oh, no. Me and my friend... uh... Lola, here, need to get going and we figured that way was quickest," Ollie shrugged.
They weren't stopped again, but Ollie heard plenty of mutters of disapproval from surrounding henchmen. And then, they were gone, having succeeded in their escape.
"I really hope you get out, Skye," Ollie muttered as he drove a motorboat he had found away from The Authority.
Similar to Ollie and Ocean, Skye and TnTina weren't interrupted. They got out just fine. But, TnTina was not happy.
Skye had told her everything about Chaos Agent, her promise with Jules, the Zero Point and The Seven, and this caused them to no longer be on speaking terms.
"Please talk to me," Skye pleaded as they got into their own motorboat.
"You should have talked to me earlier," TnTina replied, not turning around from her position in the pilot's seat.
Skye felt hurt, but she couldn't really blame TnTina.
She really should have talked earlier.
