《Fortnite: The Great Flood》Chapter 3: Catty Corner

"WOOHOO!" Skye cheered as Maya hit the boost on the motorboat.
Skye, Ollie, Joe, Ocean, Maya and TnTina were off to Catty Corner to say hi to Meowscles and Kit and run some errands on their not-quite-big-enough motorboat. But, Skye had decided to turn it into an adventure.
Catty Corner was on the land, so the agents had to get out when they reached the dam.
"Damn it! Who put his dam here?" TnTina joked when they got out.
"Let's go!" Skye grinned.
The six of them crossed through Misty Meadows then went in the direction that Catty Corner was meant to be. The mountains loomed above them, snow blowing off the tips of each peak.
"Do we seriously need to go up that hill?" Joe sighed, looking at the journey ahead.
A steep hill sat annoyingly ahead of them. A fortified gas station was visible ahead.
"What choice do we have?" Skye said, then trekked upwards.
The agents all climbed up the inclined slope and tried not to fall down. It was hard and annoying, but didn't even last a full minute. And, if they didn't know the place was for Kit before, they certainly would've now.
Calico cat faces were put on signposts and doors, and the cat faces were sprayed on many of the walls.
A vault (possibly The Rig one since it was pretty banged up) lay under a bright yellow container, and a large building that used to be the box factory now housed a home for Meowscles and Kit.
The gas station acted as a small area for food... and it appeared to have actual gas pumps. Why, Skye did not know. The cars on the island weren't actually usable.
Meowscles poked his head out of the abandoned caravan next to the box factory building.
"Hey, guys! Come on in!" he cooed, waving them in.
They all ran across the piles of trash to the main building and headed inside.
It appeared that the main building also doubled as a workshop. It appeared that Jules was making some of her robots over here too. Of course, she hadn't been sussed out yet.
Skye led the way up the stairs and through a door into a little homely room.
There was a purple fish-shaped carpet and a golden litter box was hidden behind a purple curtain. A small wooden table had cans of stinky tuna on it and a similar wardrobe sat opposite it. There was also an area for cooking with slick light blue tools.
Kit was playing in a pile of crates next to the wardrobe.
"Hey guys!" he grinned.
"Hey, Kit! Nice place you got here!" Skye smiled.
"Yeah, this hangout is pretty cool, isn't it? We have Jules to thank for it. I wish we could repay her somehow," Meowscles meowed.

"Speaking of Jules, I think she wants you," Maya explained.
"Does she? When should we go?"
"Now, preferably."
"You're gonna love it!" Ollie laughed.
"Come on then, son."
Kit climbed onto his father's back, then they were off back across Misty Meadows and back onto the motorboat, which was now even more cramped than before. They drove back through the ruins of The Rig (which Skye decided to name Rickety Rig, since it was now very rickety) and back to The Fortilla.
"Honey, I'm home!" Skye called as she entered Jules' workshop.
"Oh, hi. Are Meowscles and Kit here?" Jules asked.
She appeared to not be too busy, just stroking Ohm's chest as he hooted contently.
"You bet we are!" Kit said from atop Meowscles' back.
"Kit! I'm so glad you're here. Here, press this button."
Jules produced a red button on a remote out of a small hole that appeared in Ohm's chest. She was putting stuff in there now?
The remote was very cartoonish, almost like something that a U-rated movie villain would use. But, since Kit was a child, Skye guessed that was the point.
Kit tapped the button cautiously, and the rob- mech jumped to life, and moved fluidly towards Kit.
"Hello, Kit. My name is KO. I am here to serve you," KO, Kit's mech, said in a monotone voice.
"I should probably work on the emotion a bit... What do you think, Kit?" Jules asked.
"Is it really for me? I love it so much!!" Kit cried.
As he hugged the mech with pure joy, everyone couldn't help but think he was cute.
"He's cute, isn't he?" Ollie said to Skye.
"He's adorable," Skye agreed.
Chaos Agent remembered them as clear as the clearest day. His friends from high school.
Having just three friends, Chaos Agent was no social butterfly, but those three were loyal and friendly despite his flaws... until he killed them all.
You see, Chaos Agent wasn't always called Chaos Agent. If you scoured deep enough into Shadow's Agent Files, you would find that his real name was Martin.
But, since Chaos Agent had entered his own name himself, no one knew it. Only he did.
It was also not to uncommon for Chaos Agent to be thought of as not human. I mean, would you think he's human, looking as he is? I thought not.
First, there was Lone Shadow, or Harrison. He was tall and buff, but was easily outsmarted. That was what led to his downfall.
Then, there was Wild Card. Chaos Agent always forgot his actual name, but he thought it was Josh, so that was what he went with. Josh annoyed Chaos Agent, since he was in love with the only girl in their friend group, just like Chaos Agent. So he had to die.

Then, her.
Hush. She was the most mysterious of the four of them, and it wasn't necessarily her fault, although it might have been. Something had happened on her 13th birthday, and it had puzzled Chaos Agent his entire life.
It started with an invitation to her party. It was Chaos, Wild Card, Lone Shadow and her, plus a few of her family members. It was an invitation to paintball in the woods on the 18th October, the weekend after her birthday. They all arrived, as normal.
They were all sorted into pairs.
"Martin and Hush!" Hush's mum called out.
The pairs were random, so it was easy to say that Chaos Agent was pleased. They geared up and headed out to the most remote part of the forest, as was Hush's plan.
"What's that?" a 13-year-old Hush wondered.
She had seen something in the underbrush.
Back then, Hush had smooth peachy skin and blond curls that bounced as she walked. And those unforgettable blue eyes that had burned themselves permanently into Chaos Agent's mind.
When Hush was in high school, however, her skin was greyish and her hair was straight and short, the same colour as her skin. And those blue eyes had turned deep red.
It was unnatural to say the least. And Chaos Agent thought, no, he knew that it was something to do with the thing in the woods.
"What's what?" Martin replied, oblivious to any things in the woods.
"It's pretty big."
"Probably a bear. Best to stay away."
"But the people in charge of setting up the paintball said that it was impossible for any bears to get into the area."
"So? False advertising, it's not uncommon. Let's get moving. Someone could be scoping us out right now!"
But, Hush was still certain that this large creature was following them. She claimed it was a plant-like creature.
"OK, I've had enough of this. I'm going to see it. I want to know if I'm making it up," Hush decided finally.
"OK, I'll be waiting here," Martin nodded.
So she was gone for a few minutes. When she came back, something was different.
She looked tired.
She had never been tired, not once in her whole life. Always alert. Always watching. But not anymore.
And Chaos Agent knew it had something to do with the thing in the-
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
Chaos Agent got up from his desk in his private study and pulled out a Suppressed Pistol from his holster. He liked Suppressed Pistols; they got the job done quickly and quietly.
Chaos Agent snapped.
"Sir? I was told to give you these files. They're on The Fortilla, that new Ghost base?" a very nervous Shadow henchman explained.
The Shadow henchman posted the files through the letter box-slit in the study's door, then left without saying goodbye.
Chaos Agent holstered his Suppressed Pistol and picked up the files. The folder read: The Fortilla.
Joe and Maya had to stay behind for work, but Skye, Ollie, TnTina and Ocean were off on their exploration mission. They (well, mainly Skye) wanted to go to The Yacht to take photos and send the photos of his trashed yacht back to him to make him angry. Skye and TnTina liked making him angry.
"How far away are we now?" TnTina asked Ollie, who was driving.
"Not too far. We're driving above the bridge next to Pleasant Park, so it shouldn't be far at all," Ollie answered casually.
And, sure enough, Skye could see The Yacht a little way ahead.
Deadpool!
The Yacht had almost become some sort of Deadpool shrine. Midas would not like this at all, but would perhaps like it more if Deadpool was there. Several Ghost search parties had gone out to find him, but none had succeeded.
Ollie parked the boat as best he could and they all got out.
They all pulled out their weapons. Midas insisted they bring them in case of a Shadow ambush, although Skye didn't really thing they needed to.
Ollie turned into a hat and hopped onto Skye's head.
"Do you reckon he's here?" he asked.
"Deadpool? Maybe. Shadow agents? Unlikely," Skye said bluntly.
"True."
They were walking through a series of picnic benches fashioned into small cabbage gardens and there were several containers around them, too. It was built up in the same style as The Fortilla.
"It's like The Fortilla," Ocean whispered, as if she was reading Skye's mind.
Inside, the disco dance floor still functioned, and the Midas statue stood with a Deadpool mask on its head.
Oh, Deadpool was definitely here.
They went to another outdoor bit where a boat was collecting bits of scrap metal. It was unoccupied. Why would you leave a boat?
Skye made to go inside, but noticed how Ocean was looking at something in the sky.
"Watcha lookin at?" Skye wondered innocently.
"There's something up there," Ocean pointed.
The thing was small and meteor-like, and it was getting bigger, and fast. Very fast.
"Run!" TnTina yelled, and they all got inside the little scrap-collecting boat.
The thing exploded upon impact with the ground, and five people wearing masks popped out.
They looked at the three agents with guns ready.
"FIRE!" a woman with a Hunting Rifle cried, and bullets rained down on Skye, TnTina and Ocean. Well, and Ollie, but he was just a hat at the moment.
Skye and TnTina exchanged looks.
They were going to have to fight.
