Time after the party seemed to go by extremely fast. I couldn't even take a second to process everything that was going on because of that. Soon enough, I was nearing the end of my second trimester and entering the third and final trimester. Because of that, I had to go into the museum early to let Dr. McPhee know. Yes I know I waited until basically the last minute, but we had so much planning for me and Ahk's wedding AND a baby shower that I almost forgot.
I slowly walk up the museum stairs while holding onto the railing. Ahk was helping me up while holding onto my waist. Once I get to the top of the stairs, I start breathing heavily. Ahk let's me catch my breath before opening the door. I slowly walk in and is greeted by Rebecca.
"Hi guys! It's great to see you. Ahk, I almost didn't recognize you!" she says. Ahk was wearing one of the new queen shirts that I bought him and he also was wearing some jeans and plain, black sneakers. Of course he was also wearing the necklace that I bought him.
"Hi Rebecca. Is Dr. McPhee in his office? I need to talk to him about my situation," I say as I point to my stomach.
"Yes of course. Just go on ahead."
I start walking towards the hallway and take a few turns until we're in front of his office. I knock on the door and hear a voice.
"Come in," I hear Dr. McPhee say.
Ahk opens the door and I slowly walk in. The look on Dr. McPhee's face was priceless. He kept looking at me, then at my stomach, and then at Ahk.
"Do I even need to ask what's going on?" he asks.

Me and Ahk both shake our heads no. Ahk pulls out the chair from the desk and lets me sit down before pushing it closer to the desk.
"So... what do you need to talk to me about?" Dr. McPhee asks.
Ahk pulls out a folded sheet of paper and hands it to me before I had it to Dr. McPhee.
He looks at the paper and silently begins reading it.
"Ah. Maternity leave." I nod my head. "Well we're definitely going to miss you while you're gone."
"I know. That's why I'll try to visit with the baby whenever I can until I work again."
"I'm sure that Larry will be fine since he's had to watch over the museum before you came along."
"He definitely will be."
"Alright well thanks for letting me know. I wish you the best of luck."
Ahk helps me up out of the chair and we both walk towards the door before Dr. McPhee stops us.
"By the way, who is he?" he asks as he points to Ahk.
"Oh he's my boyfriend," I say.
"Fiancé," Ahk whispers.
"Fiancé."
Dr. McPhee looks at us surprised.
"Wow," he says. "Well it's very nice to meet you..."
"Ahk," Ahk says.
"Ahk? That's very...different."
"Yeah it's something," I say. What exactly was I supposed to tell him? That he got his name because he's actually a pharaoh? I mean I could've lied and said that he was named after a pharaoh, but I didn't feel like getting into that.
"Can we go? My feet hurt." I say.
"Of course. It was very nice to meet you too," Ahk says as he takes me by my hand and leads me out the door.
"Well that wasn't too bad," I say as we start walking.
"Yeah it wasn't. But I'm happy because now we can finally focus on ourselves and the baby.
"Yeah me too." I lean my head on Ahk's shoulder as we walk outside. My life, in the next few months, was going to get CRAZY.
