《The Love That Define Us {Completed}》Face to Face
Advertisement
Today we are going back to our home.
I still remember that day, how we left after we got married...
That day there was sadness and sorrowfulness on her face, but today I see a bright smile reflection of a bright future of ours, together!
"Anuraag, when will the bus arrive?" She asked, intertwining her arm with mine.
"Just 20 min more, love."
"Oh, okay." She rested her head on my shoulder.
I glanced at her in Aww, as I couldn't believe that—this was happening for real.
"Aree, beta. How are you?!" An old lady approached us, with a tea kettle, in her hand.
"Diya, do you know her?" I asked in confusion.
"No, who are you, Aunty Ji?" Diya asked straightening herself on the bench.
"You forgot me? We met almost 4 months ago...anyway! How many months so far?!" She said with a grin on her face.
"Months?!" I said confusedly.
"Yeah, your wife is pregnant, no?"
"Diya, Will you explain what's happening here?"
"Ah—I think there is a serious misunderstanding. I think you met someone else and mistaken me for her." She replied nervously.
"Could be...but I don't forget people that easily...anyway, do you want chai?"
"No, thank you," I replied.
After the lady left I looked at Diya, who was sweating, in the month of cold-spring.
"So you told her that you are pregnant...with my baby?" I asked, teasingly.
"W-what...no- of course, I didn't—
"Diya Diya...don't be embarrassed...You can tell me."
"Okay...well so this happened...I was waiting for you while you were away to buy the bus tickets. This woman came to me and started talking to me...like ' are you newlywed and for how many months?' Etc.. I was really upset and sad about the whole thing that happened on the wedding day. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody...so I acted like I am about to throw up...and I may or may not added that I am pregnant...nonetheless, it worked." She said hesitantly.
"Oh my god!" I laughed.
"You think it's funny?" She asked with an amused smile.
"Yes!"
"So how many months so far?!" I repeated the words.
"Hey!" She slapped my shoulder playfully.
"You are so cute!"
She lowered her head hiding her blush. " I love you." I wrapped my hands around her shoulder.
"Diya, stay here...I will be back," I said running inside the house.
"Okay, But—
"Before you enter...." I unlocked the door. This is the same house I bought months ago, and now I am finally here with her to make this house into a home. "You come in now." I smiled.

"Wait aren't we going to take the elevator? It doesn't feel like our home?—where are we Anuraag?" She asked.
"We are at our new home. I bought this house a few months ago...and wanted to surprise you, as you might know, things weren't in my favour...but now they are!" I took her hand in mine as I guided her inside to every room in the house.
The smile on her face changed into tear in her eyes. I reached out, holding her face in my hand. "Why are you crying?" I asked softly.
"It's just happy tears...I never thought that one day I will be so happy...thank you." She sobbed.
"You silly, thank you. If you didn't come in my life I would've never had bought this house in the first place...and also please don't cry...I have promised your uncle that I will always keep you happy and smiling." I wiped her tears with my thumb.
"And Diya...we are going to the clinic for your eyes treatment. Be ready."
"Tara, how long the treatment will continue?" I asked.
"We have done all the necessary tests, just make sure she takes all the medicine on time for one week; then we will perform the surgery after one last final medical test—remember Anuraag, there is only a 35 percent chance that she will able to see...so don't get disheartened if the surgery doesn't go well...make sure you are by her side at all the time for this treatment and after the treatment," Tara said, thoughtfully.
"Thank you, Tara, I will!" I smiled.
"Ok now, take this perception and get these medicines."
"And yes there is someone I want you to meet before you go...oh Doctor Lucas—meet Mr. Anuraag Agnihotri, Diya's Husband." Tara introduced us when she noticed him walking by us.
"We have met before?" I asked confusedly.
"Yes...your wife got lost..."
"Oh! Yeah...I am really grateful to you for your kindness.." I shook his hand with a thankful smile.
"Don't mention it!"
"Anyway, Tara where's the Patient, I wanted to meet her.," Lucas said in a monotone.
"She's in room 207, on the left.."
"Okay, thanks, I will see you later, Mr. Agnihotri are you coming with me?"
"Yes." I nodded. "See you later, Tara." I waved her bye. She smiled and walked in another direction.
—————————->>>>>>
"Hi, Diya. How are you doing today?" I smiled at her. "I am doing good, how are you?" She replied with a friendly smile. Anuraag followed me in the room. And stood by her side, Diya held his hand as he sat next to her.
"I am also good." I settled on my chair.

"So, I read your medical file, it says you were in an accident when you were a child. And lost your eyesight, due to tearing of retina—
"Doctor—can you please not discuss that...it is still a painful memory for her?" Anuraag interrupted me. I lifted my head and looked at them.
Diya was sitting in silence, with her head down low. "I am sorry." I choked on my words in guilt.
"That's okay. We have already discussed this with Doctor Tara, apart from this. Is there anything important that needs to be discussed or done for the treatment?" He asked.
"No, everything is done," I replied.
"Okay then, we should leave. It was nice meeting you again, Mr. Lucas." He stood from his seat, whilst helping Diya.
"Have a nice day, Mr. and Mrs. Agnihotri."
"You too Mr. Lucas."
With that, they both left.
I need to do this. I need to forget her. She is someone's happiness, and love of life. Besides she will never feel for the same as I feel for her!
I looked through my cabin window, at her.
"Mr. Lucas?" Tara knocked on the door.
"Yes, Ms. Tara." I walked to the door and unlocked it.
"I just wanted to give you this file about the laser procedure and eyes surgery...." she handed me a file.
"Thank you, I will look go through it."
"No problem, see you later." She smiled and left.
"Anuraag, I can't eat this much. I am so full!" I said.
"No, you haven't even finished your rice yet and you haven't touched Rotis...come on finish it." He insisted.
How should I tell him that I am feeling nauseated? Maybe because of those medicines?
"Anuraag can you lead me to the washroom, right now?!" I stood from my chair abruptly.
"Of course...are you okay?"
"No—I need to throw up!" I said irritatedly.
He helped me to reach the washroom.
"You wait outside...I don't want you to see me throw up!" I pushed him out of the washroom but he adamantly stopped the door in the middle. As I couldn't hold anymore, I ended up throwing up. He held my hair in a ponytail and rubbed my back.
"Here take this towel." He handed me the towel after I washed my face.
"I called Tara. She said we need to come for a checkup." Anuraag said.
"I feel fine, now."
"I don't want to risk it. We need to go. Come on get ready." He said concernedly.
"Okay." I nodded.
_________
"How long you have been feeling nauseous?" Tara asked.
"For a week or so...but, this was the first time a actually threw up," I told.
"Okay, Doctor Lucas will be here with the report, in a few minutes. So please wait...he will discuss the report with you both." She said.
"Don't worry Diya. Everything will be fine." He squeezed my hand gently.
"I hope so." I smiled, nervously.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Agnihotri...please be seated," Lucas said.
"I have something to share With you guys.—in your report we found out that she's pregnant. Two weeks pregnant." Lucas said in a monotone.
"What?!" Anuraag said in shock.
I was shocked too.
"I don't know, how we missed that...but now the reports are here...congratulations guys!"
"T-thank you," Anuraag said, hesitantly.
"I will give you some privacy, please excuse me," Lucas said before leaving us alone.
"Anuraag, please say something," I asked, holding his hand.
"I-I don't know what to say—
"Is this bad?" I asked anxiously.
"No no no...Diya! I am just so happy that I am speechless! It's not bad..it's our child, our baby!" He cupped my face and wiped my tears.
"But I am worried about your treatment...I hope everything turns out to be good."
"It will!"
__________
I was shocked but happy. My speechlessness made her think that I am not happy.
"No no no...Diya! I am just so happy that I am speechless! It's not bad..it's our child, our baby!" I cupped her face and wiped her tears.
"But I am worried about your treatment...I hope everything turns out to be good."
"It will!" She smiled,
__________
"Tara, she's pregnant! I will be a father soon!" I said, excitedly.
"Congratulations! I am happy for both of you!" She replied.
"But there's something I need to tell you, Anuraag."
"We can't perform any treatments while she's carrying the baby.." Tara said, with concern.
"I understand, I need to talk to her about this," I said.
"Okay... and also, please make her discontinue all the medicine we prescribed before. I will give you new prescriptions." Tara said.
"Okay, we will wait in the reception area." I nodded.
Our baby! But I can't be selfish. What if she doesn't want this child? What if she's not ready for this child? I need to ask her!
"Diya, do you want this baby?" I asked.
"Yes...wh-why do you ask?"
"Because, it's about your treatment...you can't continue your treatments since you are pregnant...we have to wait—
"Then I am ready to wait...but I will not terminate my pregnancy!" She said firmly.
"Are you sure?!" I asked concernedly.
"My answer is final! I am keeping the baby..." she trailed off.
"Okay," I hugged her, she rested her head against my chest, her tears wetted my shirt while she cried a little.

THE WHISPERS IN THIS DARK, CRUEL, AND GHOSTLY WORLD
(Vampires & Humans Vs. Werewolves & Ghosts???)It is the year 2201, and the human race is at war with not only the next evolution of the human race, werewolves, but also against Nature itself. An Ancient race of underground dwellers called vampires live and tries to protect humanity by bringing the human population underground in their habitat. The humans and Vampires live in fear of the werewolves, but that is not all, If this was the worst of it all, then it would have been a rather nice end for a good bedtime story about humans and vampires leaving in harmony underground, but this was not the end and neither is this a bedtime story. Nature (planet) still had big plans for the world, even with the creation of its henchmen, the werewolves (who have no control over themselves at all, merely acting based solely on their biological instincts), that was still not enough for nature. Nature still needed one last thing, something that could give those werewolves orders, tell them what to do, guide them, something that would be a personification of nature itself, something that would be nature's full power, with its wisdom and knowledge, something that would be its symbol. Ghosts.
