《Spencer Reid Imagines ✔️》Its Going To Be Okay

Spencer's POV
I clutch my messenger bag as the elevator jolts up to the sixth floor. I plan on reading a lot today and finishing some paperwork, unless we get a case. I brush my hair out my face and step out of the elevator as it dings, signifying i'm on the floor where the rest of my team works. I stride into the room with a peppy gait. I am prepared to get stuff done and also elated to see my friends. I find my desk and start up my computer, looking around for everyone.
Morgan is pouring himself some coffee and glances over, giving me a wink as he notices my presence. I smile back at him and wave a small bit. Prentiss is talking with JJ at her desk about Henry I assume because they are looking at pictures on JJ's phone and letting out a ton of "aweees". I laugh at them under my breath and turn around to see (Y/N) isn't at her desk where she normally is every morning. She is always early to work and always at her desk behind me. Hotch walks up to my desk, throwing down a bunch of files with a smack, which pulls me out of my thoughts.
"These all need to be filed by the end of the day. Also, good morning. Do you have any idea where (Y/N) is? She has work to do today." The boss asks me and I shake my head side to side. I open up the files and start to read them. It shouldn't take me too long.
I am halfway through the fifteenth file when I hear a loud crash coming from the glass doors at Quantico. I snap my head towards the double doors and see (Y/N) has knocked into another agent who was carrying a ton of text books for the lecture at the academy later today. I watch as she rushes to the ground to help him pick it all up. She apologizes more than enough times and eventually stands up again brushing herself off. Footsteps accompanyed by tons of sniffles make their way over to me. She isn't crying, she just seems tired and under the weather.
I spin around in my chair and watch the girl as she unpacks her things and plants herself at her desk. She continues to rub her eyes as she coughs and sniffs repeatedly. She turns her attention to my staring and shifts her eyes away for a minute. I smile at her but it's a smile laced with concern.
"What?" She says, all stuffed up.
"Nothing." I turn back around and start my work again.
As the day progresses, (Y/N)'s coughing gets worse and she starts to become light headed. I stand up and walk to get myself a cup of coffee and (Y/N) gets up from her desk. She starts walking towards Hotch's office but trips and starts to fall down. I quickly run to her and catch her in my arms. She looks up at me, flustered; pushing her glasses onto her face again she stands up straight.

"Sorry." She looks at me with sorrow in her eyes. She clearly isn't doing well.
"(Y/N), you are sick. You should not be working. I'll tell Hotch I am taking you home." I crack open his door and peek my head in. "Hey, (Y/N) isn't feeling so well, i'm gonna take her home and make sure she's okay. Is that alright?" I ask the dark haired man sitting at his desk.
"Yes, that is completely fine but I will continue to update you on the case we just got while you're there, take care of her and make sure she is feeling better. Thanks Reid." He allows me to leave.
I glance over my shoulder and (Y/N) is gone. I shut Aaron's door and jog down the steps trying to see where she went. I scan the room and finally see her sitting at her desk. She scrambles, throwing her papers around and dropping things on the floor. I walk over to her and give her a glare. She shifts in her seat letting out a sneeze and a short cough.
"I am fine Spencer, I don't need to go home. Plus I have a lot of work to do. Thank you anyways." She glances away from me and goes back to logging into her computer.
"You aren't fine and there's no way you can work under these circumstances. You aren't in a good healthy state of being and mind to do your job well in the slightest. Now, put your things down and come with me. We can get them later. Right now I am going to take care of you." A wide smile takes a hold of my lips and I hold my hand out for her to take.
She takes it finally giving in. We make our way out, wishing everyone luck with the case as they all tell (Y/N) to feel better.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I open the door to (Y/N)'s apartment and she walks in slowly. I've only been here a few times. Once for a dinner party that Rossi was holding, (Y/N) insisted that she have it at her place. And one other time for drinks with the team after we closed a case. It looks the same as it did the last time I was here. I follow (Y/N) in and shut the door behind me. I turn to see (Y/N) clutching her stomach. I rush over to her, guiding her to the bathroom. I flip up the toilet seat and she sits in front of it as I hold her hair back for her.
"Why are you here Spence? You should be at work helping the team with the case. I can manage here on my own." She tries to encourage me to leave but I just ignore her failed attempts.
"Hotch said he would keep me updated. I'll still be working the case I just get to do it from here while I help you. I know you can get by on your own I just want to be here to help and make sure you are okay."
I smile at her, letting her hair down. I stand up and search her medicine cabinet and closets for mouthwash. I eventually find some and I pour a cup of it into the lid for her. She downs it and swishes rapidly before spitting. (Y/N) throws the cup away.
"Hey, that was the lid to your mouthwash silly. You can't throw that away." I joke with her, going to take it out of the garbage can.
(Y/N) reaches for the cap at the same time as me and our hands brush up on each other. I look up at her and pull my hand away quickly. I do love her I just don't want to do anything if it makes her upset.
"Did I do something?" She asks, startled by my movement.
"No. I-. Let's go out to the dining table and I will make you some tea and soup okay?" I offer, hoping she will accept and forget what just happened.
"Okay Spencer."
We exit the bathroom and (Y/N) falls down on the ground almost passing out again. I reach down towards her, holding the small of her back and staring into her eyes. She sits down on the floor and starts crying.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay. It's going to be fine. I'm here for you (Y/N)." I hold her in my arms and stroke her hair.
She weeps into my chest which just makes me clutch her tighter to me. I wish she didn't feel so awful. I decide to order her soup from her favorite Chinese restaurant. I think she'll like that. It might make her feel better.
"Hey, look at me. Please." I tilt her head up with my finger.
She looks up at me, tears still coming down like waterfalls. I don't know if it was something I did or if she just feels yucky.
"It's going to be okay. It's just a cold and a stomach bug. You are going to get through it." I tell her with a soft smile placed on my lips.
She gets up and sulks towards her white dining table. I head to the kitchen so I can make her tea. Two cups of tea finished in my hands I walk over to the table and place one in front of her. She sips it and looks up at me with her eyes from her cup. The soup arrives not too long afterwards. She scarfs the whole thing down faster than i've ever seen.
"Slow down, you may feel nauseated, or even throw up again. You might get indigestion from eating too much or too fast, eating high-fat foods, or eating when you're stressed." I real off and watch as a smile grows on her face.
"What?" I ask confused why she's smiling.
"Even when you aren't at work, the facts just keep on coming'." She smiles at me and this makes me blush.
She finishes eating her food and afterwards tries to clean her plate and mug in the sink. I stop her and grab everything out of her hands.
"I'll do it. You go lay down on the couch. I'll be right there." I refuse to let her partake in any manual labor.
I wash her dishes and place them in the sink to dry. I walk over to her and see she's uncomfortable on the couch so I go to her room and grab two pillows and a blanket. I run back to her and tell her to sit up; placing the pillows behind her head to prop her up. I then drape the blanket over her and she smiles grabbing it to clutch closer to her.
"Thank you for doing this Spence. I don't have anyone else that would do this for me." She says laying her head down.
"What about your boyfriend?"
"I don't have a boyfriend Spencer." She laughs out loud.
"Why is that funny?" I ask, confused how nobody would want to date her.
"Nobody would date me. I am an FBI agent who would never be home and I am not girlfriend material."
"I would date you." I say under my breath.
"You what?"
"I said I would date you (Y/N). You are one of the most beautiful, talented, smart people i've ever met and to think that nobody would date you is preposterous." I smile as I look down at my hands in my lap.
A pair of arms wraps around me and snuggles their head into my chest. I don't know how I didn't see her get up and come over to me but she's here now. I look down at her.
"I'm not gonna kiss you right now because i'm sick but just know if I wasn't, i'd be kissing the hell out of you right now." She says to me, stunning me for a second.
"Good to know. Do you want me to move?"
"No. I'm staying in your arms until I feel better." She looks up at me and places a kiss on my cheek.
Today was a good day.
The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
