《The Bookworm {Jasper X Reader}》The Attack

You ran to the nearest warp pad as fast as you could. Partially because you wanted to help them as soon as possible, partially because Steven and mainly Jasper wanted to fight the two monsters pestering your friends.
You weren't such a big fan of fighting yourself, more so when it was a giant rabid monster with uncontrollable desite to murder someone. However, you really wanted to help the others out as best as you could, even though you were just a human.
"Is Connie going to help too?" you asked as you ran.
"No, she's home... this is your second time facing a corruption, right?" Steven said as you slowly approached the warp pad.
"Yeah... even though the first time I just froze in fear and you had to rescue me..."
Your first time was with a huge Quartz corruption. It was large and horrifying, and it was trying to bite your head off. Insteas of fighting you just stood there and you didn't move until Garnet punched it until it poofed.
"Don't worry (y/n)! You'll do much better now!" Steven smiled at you.
"Yeah, I'm sure you'll poof these in no time whatsoever!" Jasper chimed in with a supportive grin. You smiled back at them and nodded with a determined expression.
"You're right. Let's go." you said as you all stepped onto the warp pad. Then you teleported in a blue pillar of light.
You gasped when you saw the state the barn was in. Two huge monsters were perching on the roof, while the gems tried to get them down.
They both seemed to be the same species. They were long and quite slender with long hair coming from the top of their heads with little black eyes and mouth full of sharp teeth. Each of them had four long arms ended in sharp claws and no feet, they walkes on the hands too. Their movements were surprisingly quick. One of them was white with grey hair and slightly larger, the other one was grey with white hair.

They were even more terrifying to you than the Quartzes. You took a deep breath and ran after Jasper and Steven, who already set off to help the others.
You stood next to Garnet and looked up at the terror on the roof. "What are those?" you asked, dodging a piece of furniture one of the monsters threw after you.
"Howlites." Garnet said simply as she jumped up on the roof, trying to hit the corrupted Howlites somewhere where it would be effective against them.
You sighed. You didn't know what answer you expected.
You ignored the frantic curses of Peridot, yelling on the monsters to get off her barn and Lapis trying to calm her down to not get herself hurt, as you quickly scaled the building through the many holes the monsters made and the many more decorations the two gems decided to put there.
Jasper was already on top, trying to dodge their sharp claws while punching them with her fists and bashing on them with her helmet. Steven was busy healing Amethyst who managed to fall off the barn and get her gem cracked, while Pearl fended off the attacks that were aimed against them.
With hope that Amethyst will be alright you finally climbed on top of the barn. You looked around and saw that Garnet and Jasper teamed up on the larger, grey one, so you decided to attack the smaller one that was hurling objects at Amethyst, Pearl and Steven.
Just as it sensed your presence, i t turned around and let out a deafening screech. You gulped and drew your sword, ready to overcome your newly built fear of the thing and strike it dow.
It launched two of its hands on you, trying to grab you or scratch you. You dodged and slashed back with the sword.

You fought like this for a while and you wete getting a bit weary from the struggle. You lowered your guard just for a little moment, but it seized the opportunity and managed to grab you.
You shrieked and tried to get yourself free. Jasper noticed this and screamed a few curses before she set off to help you, leaving the larger of the monsters to Garnet and Pearl, Amethyst was still too weak to fight and Steven was taking care of her.
However, Jasper was too angry to be careful. The monster was too uccupied by your shrieks and squirming to notice the furious Quartz running towards it.
Jasper punched it into its head with all her force. The monster finally poofed, but the impact caved in the roof of the building where you were standing and the two of you plummeted down, fillowed by additional rubble.
You had your eyes closed the entire time you were falling. When you oppened them, you wished you didn't.
A huge portion of the roof was above you, just waiting to have you crushed. The only thing that prevented it from doing so was Jasper, holding it up with her hands. She was strong, but the huge chunk of wood and roof tiles was obviously too much for her.
"(y/n) get out of here!" she shouted, breathing heavily, something you've never seen before was glistening in her eyes. Fear and tears.
"But what about you?" you asked, frantically looking for a way you could both escape. "You can get shattered!"
She shook her head and smiled with a hint of pain in it "I won't! Don't worry about that, but you, you can and will get killed if you don't leave. NOW!" she shouted, as the piece of roof started slowly slipping down from her hands.
You held back tears and nodded, crawling out of the small space between the chunk of roof and the floor.
When you were fully out, you heard her mutter "But if I do get shattered, I want you to know... that I love you, (y/n)."
Then the roof crashed down on the ground and a cloud of orange-colored smoke came out from under it accompanied with a loud 'poof' sound.
Now there was no use in holding back tears anymore, as they started falling freely down your face.

Criminal Lord
Terry Isenburg, the greatest assassin who killed thousands of powerful officials and even led an army of people to reform the world had finally killed his final target after many years of suffering and effort. Changing the world was in sight. Until he was betrayed... Although, even in the abyss of death, two choices were placed before Terry. Enter the Trial or Hell? Watch how the man who nearly took over the world now attempts to take over a world of sword, monster, magic, and one hella strong tarantula... I made this story because I always wanted a dark fantasy isekai with a hella fine backstory rather than an idiot being run over as well as having sustainable, epic scenes with a badass main character. All of which I believe my story has. (Although I'm bad at managing levels and experience and I have little imagery since I hate imagery) One other thing, the first volume may be kinda boring/repetitive but I can guarantee loads of badass action in volume 2 so please stick around. (I would also appreciate the views) If you like or dislike the story, please write a comment or review about this story to help me improve, but please don't hate on the story without explaining why. I also hope that you readers share the story to give me more support. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the story. [The cover is something I made poorly but it represents something in chapter 9-10]

An example: A village isolated from the nation of Alkai prevents the lives of many from progressing. It’ll take a society, a group, even a whipped together rag-tag team to jump start the quest for progress. An escape from a motionless home—in order to search for a greater future, Mira approaches her blade in a new light.
